WBAP Reviews

I’ve read the other reviews and can empathize with them all. I had the same problems, but this is what I’ve noticed. Most of the current issues started after the last iOS update. This morning I deleted WBAP and then reinstalled it and it works as intended so far. One issue I’ve noticed is that the stream stops as I leave for work and my iPhone switches from wi-fi to cellular. Restarting WBAP solves this issue. Second issue, when on unsecured networks (public), it is somewhat finicky. Sometimes it streams and sometimes it won’t. Switching to cellular solves this issue(unlimited data plan helps). Third issue, if I interrupt the opening add, sometimes WBAP won’t start and no amount of pressing the play icon will start the stream. Restarting WBAP solves this issue. And I haven’t noticed any greater amount of commercials through WBAP than over the air broadcast. This is how radio pays its bills after all. If you like the programming, then you have to listen to the adds to get it. The best feature of WBAP is giving me the ability to listen to the programming when out of range of the 820 AM station broadcast and do it mobile.

WBAP is horrible 😥. Has the developers tried to actually open and listen to it’s live content? Is it so hard to put a “listen live” button in a prominent location on the page? If you press the wrong area.... you are in a commercial circle.... constantly.

I listen to this app all day long. I’m not sure what you all have changed but WBAP has become REALLY buggy and frustrating. And yes, I always check to see if an update is available.
Half the time it does nothing, after I get through the ads. I understand if you have to have ads, but WBAP needs to work better. I end up clicking the Talk Radio app and I get on immediately without any bugs. 🤷🏼‍♀️

... this this app App is going downhill. I’ve had it for years now, too. It will be non-responsive and I can’t listen on WBAP , I have to swipe it off instead. And it’s been like this for a few months now. And even before that it was up and down. Hope y’all can get it straightened out soon plz plz plz!!

As a native Texan, I love listening to the this app app while living here in China. A little taste of home! It used to work great, but the ads now take over the whole page and will not allow me to close them. Often, they open when I am trying very hard to get them to close! I usually end up closing WBAP and reopening a couple of times (which sometimes works) before moving on to DFW Tuner to listen to 570 KLIF.

As far as connectivity issues, I don't notice them so much here. I have connectivity issues with everything I do online in China, so I'm not sure if the problem is WBAP or China. Or both.

Thank you though, for providing WBAP. For those of us living in foreign lands, being able to hear Chris Krok and Chris Salsedo or the live this app really help take the edge off the homesickness! And it's nice to know that I still have my Texas twang, even when I speak in Chinese!

In the last few weeks WBAP has become very unstable. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. I listen to the ad and then expect the show to begin and nothing happens. I deleted and reloaded, hoping that would help but it didn’t. I’m now listening to this app on iHeartRadio. I’ll check back in a few weeks and hope the bugs in WBAP get fixed.

I deleted this app app because of the “third party” thing and for many of the reasons I read in other reviews.! Too many commercials, having to reboot all the time. I miss listening to this app but it has gotten to where it is boring to listen to all the extra commercials!!!

As of last update i get the add sound and all but when i hit x to go to radio, nothing! I can go to weather, fine. Radio nothing. I hit play symbol, nothing. WBAP gets worse! It died a lot in past and then you had to listen to ads all over again. Ugh. Please fix this!

Possibly the most ridiculous app I’ve ever had. Accidentally get a poor cell, you get to hear more commercials when WBAP latches back on. Now it’s the progressive insurance crap being advertised, next is the joke Balance of Nature. Rated D- by BBB. I like listening to the station, but WBAP lacks a lot to be desired.

I used to depend on WBAP but lately, the buffering is horrible and I’m so sick of the financial ad being played when you initiate WBAP and during the programs. WBAP will cut off, then I have to go through that stupid ad AGAIN. Please update/fix your app!

I understand a free app is paid for by ads but when the ads are approaching 50% of the program and then the fact you have to constantly reboot and listen to the ads again it’s just overkill

I don’t live in the DFW area and so WBAP not working means I can’t listen. I cannot get it to work on my iPad or galaxy phone - app loaded on iPad but all that plays is an ad, while WBAP won’t download at all from the play store on my phone. Something is bad wrong here, hoping it is fixed soon!

I have to fight this thing to play. I use it in the car so it starts and stops a lot. I have tried closing app, pressing play does not start, priming it to play something else first. I think it has to do with ads not starting.

I find it impossible to find a link to a specific half hour of the Chris Crock program to send that link that specific part of this program to a friend.

It’s nuts to just send them out to the website which is all I can see to do.

And then have them go through and find the show that I want to listen to.

I want to be able to get the link to the show and send that specific link.

I love the station but WBAP is horrible. Very frustrating when you push play and nothing happens especially after numerous try’s.

Use WBAP only if you’ve exhausted every other option to get this app. It’s slow to load, torments you with advertisements, and then usually doesn’t even stay connected.

Ever since your last update, it will not play. I get the ad, but no news. It would be a 4 star, but for now WBAP is useless.

Crashes every time I try to open. And I can only hide WBAP . I wanted to delete and reinstall

Doesn’t work. Good ad generator I guess……..

1) Had it crash on load until a full two button reboot of the iPhone. This has not reoccurred.
2) Stop using a dark gray font on a black background. It is unreadable. It is so blatantly WRONG, it makes me suspect my phone has a problem. No one with the intelligence to scratch where it itches would choose that font/background color combo.

I use WBAP 3 or 4 times a week to stream a favorite radio talk show program. It routinely stops playing whether connected to WiFi or LTE. Then, I relaunch and have to listen to ads. I don’t have this issue with any other streaming apps. It’s very frustrating. I give it two stars because it works but take three away because you can’t stream it for more than 15 minutes without relaunching. I’ve used WBAP for several months on my iPhone 8.

WBAP drives me crazy. I love this app but I hate WBAP. As if this app didn’t play enough ads on the radio already, WBAP gives you even more; playing on startup before it tunes into the radio play. It frequently loses signal (even when connected to WiFi) and forces you to enjoy those annoying extra ads over again. This seems to often (suspiciously) happen to me right when the actual show is beginning. It’s gotten to the point that I sometimes stare at WBAP icon and consider if it’s worth it. I’m being driven away to my other favorite conservative radio station more these days. Too bad this app seems to be excluding themselves from other streaming services... if WBAP is all I can have, they may lose me eventually.

I have used WBAP every weekday for approximately two years. The latest update now requires an account to listen. While I understand the account is free, the implication is now I will be a product sold to other companies. Look around at all the places where a users privacy is betrayed. As I stated, I used WBAP at least five times a week for almost two years. I patronize the advertisers on the platform, precisely the kind of engagement a developer wants. As long as I need a account, and no I will not give fake user info, WBAP will remain as uninstalled on all of my iOS devices. Please rethink this change.

Love WBAP, great stream quality! I live in FTW and really like how I can listen to this app no matter where I'm at. Also, like the program schedule that scrolls in WBAP . Top notch...if you like this app this is a no brainer get it!! You can even listen to WBAP in the background! Just wished you had the ability to record a program to listen to later otherwise perfect app.

Does exactly what it says. Local news and weather at a touch. Radio starts right up when started.
It also has a car mode setting you can go to if you are listening in your car that makes it much easier and safer to go to different radio shows, podcast, news.

Frustrating due to the fact WBAP looses connection a lot and then makes your listen to a stupid commercial before starting the show again. App will not allow you to pause, like most other apps. Cannot listen to previous shows.
