It’s a great app, especially when dealing with .chm files. Runs very smoothly on both iPhone and iPad. Some improvements could be done: especially more colour themes such as Sepia (cool for the eyes) and collection views of books (cover page display instead of title of the book and author’s name).

CHMate. needs to be updated and bugs fixed. You can no longer make a note on something and have it save your note. Until this gets fixed, CHMate . isn’t worth the time and money.

It's really the best at job. It's probably can do anything,at least from my point of view.

I read large chm manuals and it displays them well. Plus it is free. Thanks for making it.

iOS 14.5 update is blocking custom fonts in CH Mate app. How we can fix this problem. Please update CHMate . Thanks

Cannot search any CHM filed without CHMate crashing.

It doesn't work. The application opens and closes immediately.

This is really the only .chm reader in CHMate store, and it does a great job. It is one of the best readers I have used, and I haven't had any of the issues of losing highlights or annotations that ppl mentioned in previous versions. it jumps to the right page quickly, holds your place when you exit...altogether fantastic.

I am extremely thankful that it helps me to read my medical texts. Only thing I noticed is that occasionally the text doesn't always format correctly in the page, especially if it is part of a chart, but I can always still make out what it says, so I'm still happy.

The latest update fixed the "fail to highlight" error in ONE of my ebooks (I have two ebooks which have problems in highlighting, other ebooks have no errors) which is absolutely great! :) however, in my other ebook, it's still the same: I am able to highlight, but when I go to another chapter, the highlighted marks from the previous chapter are still there! It's very frustrating, since I rely on these highlights for quick reviewing as my board exam approaches. Please fix this! This is the first app that I've ever bought and I don't want to regret it. Thank you! Will wait for the next update re this.

Does exactly what I needed and unlike most "lite" apps, this one isn't full of ads or watermarks or anything. They managed to figure out a pretty good deal with only allowing one file at a time. I would definitely buy this if I needed access to multiple chms. I'm sure it would end up paying for itself. Way easier than trying to convert this chm to a PDF.

Stable, simple to use, and sharp looking -renders very similarly to an OSX .chm reader such as chomox. Menus etc are unobtrusive and intuitive. The 1 file 'lite' limit seems fair and let's you test out the many features, which is nice. I use it to read textbooks, which allows me to preserve the contents and export the diagrams and images from within CHMate , as opposed to the mess of converting them them to simple .PDFs. What more could you want?

I got this to read some of my medical school textbooks. The rendering engine seems pretty smooth, but highlighting is very unstable. Bolded text gets un-bolded. If huge sections are highlighted by accident, figures disappear (they re-appear after a reload), and now, a bunch of highlights were deleted. Frustrating.

Also it would be good if annotating and highlighting were separated into two different tools. It's inefficient to highlight text and then be prompted to write a note about what you just highlighted.

I want to introduce CHMate to my friends but after trying to add more *.CHM, all of them stay in All Documents.

However, when I accessed it to look for book I like to read, it only shows the last book that I add it in the inital alphabet. Two of them are not listed on, I have to type the tilte on search field to pull it out.

This would be an awesome app if it got fixed.

I have only a few books in chm that I want on my iPad so this lite version is quite sufficient for my needs. If people have a large number of books in chm(seems medical students do) then I very much recommend the full version for them. Totally worth it.

I'm taking grad school courses right now and I'm using a book I've downloaded via CHM. This reader supports it pretty well but it keeps on randomly discarding some of my highlights!! It's really annoying, but essentially has helped consolidate my understanding of material since I have to go back and re-read it several times.

I read for work, so I needed something that was pretty solid & easy.

We are lucky their are a few options. This is by far my favorite. No ads, easy to use.

I am considering buying now.

Has been working great for me, however some chm files display oddly, like the document not being able to fit on the screen. Not sure if this can be helped or just a chm file problem.

It was my best app but after recent updates, it ruined every thing.
After " search the whole document " it crashes
At the opening it expand all the document
The pictures are half dark
..... 😡

I've used CHMate for about a year now and I've become a big fan. Recent updates allow customization like never before. If you use CHM, CHMate is easily the way to go.
