Can’t use app any more... keep getting message that destination is unroutable...but Inrix had worked well for many years previously on iPhone and iPad.... can this be cured?

Great app.

I am new to using INRIXTraffic but as of right now I feel satisfied I only wish that app would give me more information on which direction would be the fastest for me to go. INRIXTraffic show two ways to go and there are at least five different route to my destination I wish I would have a choice to see all of the routes so that I can determine which would get me there the quickest way. INRIXTraffic shows two ways that you can get to your destination one is the fastest and two is the quickest a.k.a. shortest as for myself I'm not understanding between the two when INRIXTraffic State fastest or shortest don't really understand the difference between the two. I understand the fastest will get you there the quickest way the shortest "this is my confusion about what it get you there the fastest way as well if it's the shortest route what's the difference between the fastest and shortest route? This is nearly my feelings on INRIXTraffic overall downloading INRIXTraffic wouldn't be a bad choice for those that decide to it's a great app has a lot of information so good luck downloading INRIXTraffic enjoy and I get it five thumbs up. And a little side information, it has pictures of all the roads you'll take that is wonderful enjoy

Brilliant and user friendly app

My husband just showed me INRIXTraffic today and it helped us navigate through an accident that had JUST happened. My favorite feature so far are the cameras so we can see what is ahead that is causing the slowdown. Of course I would never use this while I was driving because you have to really look close at the screen to see what’s going on. PLEASE EVERYONE STAY OFF YOUR PHONE WHILE YOURE DRIVING!! Y’all are going to cause an accident and you may hurt someone, or multiple people. 90% of drivers I see swerving or slamming on the brakes are on their phone!! It makes me so angry!!!

Fastest vs Shortest

For the previous reviewer: fastest means the quickest amount of time based on current trafffic conditions. Shortest is the shortest mileage, which is helpful if you’re renting a vehicle and are getting charged by the mile.

INRIXTraffic’s routes are reliable, and the time estimates are based on current traffic flow according to past and current drivers on the same route. In two years of use, there have been some times that it hasn’t shown a new accident or construction (which depend on user input) and the time estimates are generally quicker than I drive since many people go 15-20 mph over the speed limit in my area, so don’t count on catching a few green lights and arriving earlier than predicted.

I do wish that it had a view that lists the turns, instead of only the map mode, but the graphica are clean and overall I’m happy with INRIXTraffic.

Used to be good

INRIXTraffic used to be pretty decent. Most of the features were broken such as traffic alerts, traffic cameras and the participation point systrem. But if you look around all that and the fact that the traffic maps are slow to update its great. Not really this program is a has been its plagued with bugs, the staff are unresponsive to support request via email and it has a hard time functioning if you are in a slow internet area. This is largely because they are harvesting your address book and storing it on your servers. Anything you do is an application call back to the servers and now those are starting to fail. The addresses for home or work are stored in the cloud which means if the servers that are storing your private data are down so is your ability to pull down hours old traffic data. I dont know why I keep opening INRIXTraffic up hoping it will work again. Time to write off the loss on another app that just couldn’t cut it.

Good app

Seems accurate; is easy to figure out; quick glance gives what you need. Would be nice if you could input a route, then click an icon to see it in the reverse direction. You can do this on Apple maps or Google maps, but I cannot figure out how to do it on Inrix or Waze.

Update: Road closure info near Monte Rio, CA very inaccurate after flood. (3/1/19). The form for contacting them is long and stupid. If they want people to give them feedback so they can improve their product, they should really make it easier. Just have an obvious “feedback“ button and don’t require people to fill out a form. This way you’ll get way more input, and you will know what people are thinking about your app.

Not ready for Prime Time IMHO

I really want to like INRIXTraffic- partly because it never asks me to stop and get an egg sausage sandwich on the way to work. But it does some weird things for me. Just on my commute alone, it persistently suggests an illegal left turn. Other times it suggests seemingly pointless short detours only to immediately put me right back on the route I was already on. Another time I was on my way to a known destination, less than half a mile directly ahead on the left. Traffic was OK. Inrix told me to take a Uturn... going away from my destination completely. I ignored this direction and turned into my destination, no problem. So, deleted INRIXTraffic . I may revisit INRIXTraffic again later and see if my problems remain.

FINALLY!!

Since the loss of Beat The Traffic, I had been trying to find a simple, accurate traffic app so I can see where the backups are for my work commute. Finally found it here. Unlike the goofy "social media" traffic app Waze, this one opens with a traffic updated overhead map so you can see instantly where the problem spots are. Simple to use and you can add locations with alerts for certain times a day if you want. So far the maps are more accurate than any others I've seen. Love INRIXTraffic! Handy every day tool for me.

Great features

I use it all the time, before getting on the highway and if there and if there's an accident on the highway I take an alternate route . great app never leave home without it. keep up the good work i’ve been using your app for sometime now but I noticed lately that the updates when it was an accident on the highway is not updated fast enough when I go to my GPS in my car and gives me a quick results also when I go to Waze it’s a quick result, I think you should look into that matter

Don’t drive without it!

This is INRIXTraffic I use everyday! While starting the car I check which way I want to go. Traffic in the summer in New England can go crazy for someone getting a ticket on the other side. Between navigation and the roads being bad or closed in the winter you really don’t want to drive without it! And if the hubby is on his way to work he can hands free call me and I can see what he is dealing with and he can change his route immediately!

I am apparently the only user in my area

Traffic indications are usually wrong, and not in a good way. However, it does seem to update as soon as I get to the area. Then it updates to indicate the actual movement of my car. I know I am not moving and it should be very dark not just red. If you assume the colors are 10to 15 minutes old and use accordingly, INRIXTraffic is almost useful. Seems to usually but not always indicates accidents. I have yet to see an indication for police action. Maybe just my area. Massachusetts. May work better elsewhere.
Update as of October 2018. Continues to decline. Stopped in traffic and haven't moved in over a minute. Inrix is all green to my destination, while I can see a half mile of brake lights. It is not even updating from my data.

Inrix to go, or not

Stats: Verizon network, iPhone X, NYC metro area.

Free version of INRIXTraffic performed better than Premium. Map takes a long time to load - even with WiFi. No custom route choice, only able to choose what it thinks are possible routes. Touch features "freeze" and you have to wait a bit for INRIXTraffic to revive. The performance of INRIXTraffic has gotten worse over time, not better.
Helpful to see the green, orange or red road conditions (which are often wrong) but thats about all INRIXTraffic is worth (keeping in mind the time you have to wait for that info to pop up).
Don't consider the $lifetime premium - the free version will give you all the features that "work" with INRIXTraffic. Still looking for a better traffic app.

Needs work

I tried this as a alternative to an app with adds. How is this free app supported anyway?
As far as directions, it does not use the names of exits as posted on the tollway, VERY confusing. I don’t remember what it was calling the Nagel exit, but it definitely was not Nagel. There is also an annoying ‘count down’ that starts when you get within a half a mile of your destination alerting you that you are now x feet closer, in case you were not sure you were still driving forward. The interface is also cumbersome. Good luck if you want to see if there is a Starbucks on the route.
I do think you are on the right track. No adds and no selling my contact information is definitely an app I am in the market for.

Not even going to try (updated) 👍🏻

Well you fixed, now your messing with it again, but I think you’ve all learned to keep things to a manageable process.

If it ain’t broke. Been working with computers for over 40 yrs, From what I have read you folks really screwed up a GREAT product. I stay with old version as long as psbl. I wish I didn’t have to give it one star.

Used to be Great

I have been using INRIXTraffic since it was a new release and came to rely on it to help me find the quickest routes to and from work. For quite a while it was more reliable than my Garmin GPS and the other traffic apps I tried. However, since mid-October it now refuses to plan routes for me, stating every destination I select from my home is ‘unroutable’. When this started, we had just been hit by a tornado and many roads were closed, but the other traffic apps still offered detours. It has been two weeks since all the roads have reopened but Inrix still reports there are no routes to or from my home.

App is unusable

Let me start this off by saying I loved INRIXTraffic for years. In the beginning I was able to view traffic and routes without an issue prior to the current updates. As of now INRIXTraffic is just taking up space on my phone, NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING loads nor does it work. It will just open to a blank map where no matter what I select to see in the options or refresh and reload it stays completely blank. I waited a few minutes and still nothing! Such a sad disappointment, from going to my go to app for traffic to not even functional. If I try to put in a route they are all unroutable. Oh well I guess it’s back to Google Maps for me.
