This is a poorly written app

PythonEditorApp will not let you name files you create or rename files. I even tried running a script file located in a folder outside its normal location and it would not run it. There are too many limitations for this to be useful.

Developers - this app is broken

14 Pro Max. App fails to start. This shouldn’t even be on PythonEditorApp Store if you can’t maintain it

Update for non premium users broke the app

I don’t know if this is just me but I would normally rate PythonEditorApp 5 stars but the new update made it to where when I open PythonEditorApp , the pop up that asks if you want to go premium does not have a “X” or a way to exit and use PythonEditorApp . I understand trying to push premium but the pop up before was a bit intrusive, now it’s just ridiculous.

Not Free

They are marketing PythonEditorApp as a free app with a Pro subscription that unlocks additional features. In reality they block you from using PythonEditorApp entirely after a couple of days of use unless you purchase Pro for $16/month. This also locks you out of the files you created so far. That’s a case of misleading marketing and a scam.

Forced to pay or constantly reopen app

It looks free, then after you download it forces a their “pro” version of PythonEditorApp on you for 3.99 a week. No option to disable or remove the obvious money grab without paying or closing PythonEditorApp . Even if you close it, it’ll still find its way to pop back up and remove all functionality to PythonEditorApp until you pay. Trash. 0 stars

Way Too Over-Priced

I understand that developers should be paid for their work but weekly membership fees? You have to sign up to get a three day trial? Many better options out there. This is a terrible business model for gaining customers. How about build great apps, let people try them for free and then offer a one time price to purchase? There is no way this would ever be worth the price they are asking.

Unusable

PythonEditorApp pops up an ad for their premium version, which I cannot close, and covers my entire screen. PythonEditorApp would not be usable at all if PythonEditorApp were able to put this ad up while I am creating a file.

Another subscription

Just another deceptive paid app on PythonEditorApp Store. If PythonEditorApp was $10 or $15, I’d be totally fine paying before I download, but to be greeted with a subscription page the minute I open my phone, unacceptable. I will download one of the free python compilers instead.

NOT FREE AT ALL.

I downloaded PythonEditorApp because I was looking for a python coding app and I read a review that said it forces you to buy it and doesn’t let you go out of the window but I thought this was just a membership and the problem was solved so I downloaded it anyway. Turns out either. The problem was not solved or it’s not a problem at all and the free download on PythonEditorApp Store was just a ruse. It doesn’t let you go out of the purchase screen no matter how many times you close PythonEditorApp . Either you buy the membership or you don’t use it at all. I’m going to try finding one that’s actually free or gives you the OPTION to spend money or not.

Latest update intentionally broke the app

PythonEditorApp was simple, well-designed, and working well for me, but the latest update paywalls every feature behind an unskippable popup unless you pay $4/week (over $200/yr for a barebones Python IDE!).

Do not download until this is fixed.

App immediately prompts me to purchase the premium version. Window can’t be closed

As said in the title, the moment I open PythonEditorApp , a pop up window prompts me to purchase “Python Editor Pro.”

The pop up does not have any “close” button. And trying to dismiss it by swiping has no effect.

I have closed PythonEditorApp multiple times, and each time I am greeted by the same sight.

Useless

Either the new iPad or the python, does not work at all, can’t even type in the editor.

Doesn’t do anything

Can’t even type in the editor. Does basically nothing expect create files.

Not usable

Completely broken on my iphone 12 pro. Cannot type anything in file view/edit mode and also I can't run the script

Broken

Nothing but a white screen.

Won’t work

It simply doesn’t run

Python editor pro ads problem

This ads keep always show up on my screen ,every time i start this application and click in to certain file ,the premium ads show up,but the new ios 18 update zoom in the screen so i can't see the 'skip' button on the edge of the coner of screen.

Really bad

The reviews look so ai generated and stupid and PythonEditorApp can’t open.

Otziv

Govno

Doesn’t work

App doesn’t even launch and from the look of it most of the reviews are fake

Do not update the new version of Python! ! !

Why does the new version of Python have VIP, and now all the parts of Python learning need to be paid to watch?

Can’t Run Code

The editor works fine, how do you actually run the code though?

Ok, some problems

Apart from files ending in .py, you cannot run your program. I’m a beginner and i wanted to try out some projects from a book but they use .txt, .css, etc. It’s a good app but i wish it would allow you to run if it was not .py .

My teacher

My teacher made me use PythonEditorApp and so it is bad and I rate it 2 stars. 1 star for effor

Please fix it.

It has an error of input() function, please fix it.

Update

I wanted to updated the python version… don’t know if there’s any way it’s possible

can't use pip install?

please help

Great but Severely Limited

PythonEditorApp was working well for me as I was just learning python and PythonEditorApp was an effective way to practice on the go. Unfortunately it seems to lack the ability to pip install, which effectively prevents any well refined program due to mathematical and UI limitations.

No cloud support

The Python folder is stored by default in the Files app. However the location is on the iPad and it can’t be moved to the iCloud folder. That means that the files have to be manually moved from the iPad location to the iCloud location. And when you open PythonEditorApp on the iPhone it won’t have the files. There should be a way for us to specify where to store the python files.

Disappointing

I started using this a little bit about a month ago. I had an idea for something I wanted to try later, and I needed something, so I scrolled down to the learn button, to see if there was any documentation on the particular thing. Turns out, you need a subscription to access it. Im annoyed by that, but understand. PythonEditorApp has to make money some how.

Fine for simple scripts

It's fine for reviewing simple scripts since it's limited. I wish it was possible to change the output terminal font size, I'm not really sure why it's not. I also don't like that there isn't an option to remove/hide files from PythonEditorApp only— if you hit "Remove" it permanently deletes the file off your phone, so keep backups...

Very nice, but quickly limited

Very cool and impressive app for making simple command and scripts. I wasn’t able to utilize “input()” as it always returned errors without much description.

Modules like OS and Time don’t throw errors but didn’t offer the functionality they do on computer unfortunately. Still very cool for simple practice

Typing

I don’t like how you have to type and switch between keyboards. I wish you could just turn your phone sideways and it would be like a normal keyboard with arithmetic signs and symbols

Modules

My modules aren’t being detected and I cannot retrieve python files from my apple’s desktop because it tells me that I do not own the file.

Pro Version forcing

Hi your application forces me to pay for pro but I do not want pro version please help me
I can not pay for pro version

Please put split screen

Please put split screen

Can’t edit at all (update: RESOLVED)

I was able to create a new file and open it, and open a sample file as well. However there was no way to edit them at all, no matter where I clicked, there was no keyboard showing up, and it wouldn’t allow pasting either

Update: deleting and reinstalling PythonEditorApp fixed the problem. Thanks to a very useful previous comment. I am updating my review from 1 star to 4 star.

About file format

This is a very thoughtful app. I am curious to know if it will support the ipynb format in the near future.

Better than the reviews say

I installed PythonEditorApp after reading the reviews thinking, this must not be good, but no, it's actually better than the reviews say. PythonEditorApp opens, despite popular belief, and the code runs great. The editor is also well done, I could easily create and run a script. My only complaints, is that I can't install modules. If I could, I would keep PythonEditorApp. There's just not much you can do without third-party modules.

Module

Pygame,tkinter

Bit confused but ok

I’m confused on how to download third-party modules

Works after bypassing paywall

After ignoring the popup asking for 3.99 I was able to create and run a python script.

Great but missing something

Id rate rate the 5 stars because its great for phones but when I tried to use turtle I could tell if it didn’t work (incomplete) of if it didn't exist pls fix

Don’t launch

iOS 16.5

Great app, takes a bit of setup

The first time I opened PythonEditorApp , I wasn’t able to open any of the samples, until I set the theme. It was set to Chrome as the default, so I changed it to GitHub, and then I was able to open the examples and create my own files. Then I changed it back to Chrome, and it worked fine.

👍

So far it’s working fine, all these other reviews are probably old

Very noice

Very easy to use.

How much do they weigh

I’m so happy you found her

Very very sorry for not

He was good he didn’t

Best python editor

Perfect app would use daily as a way to calm down, relax, problem solve and many more.

THE best one available on the App Store.

I use Linux/Sublime text, Pydroid 3/Android, and PythonEditorApp.
If anyone is using one of those “most popular” apps, you deserve to have your money stolen.

Hey there I’m on the

The The Daily Caller has a

Terminal Usage

So, I am making a discord bot and there is no terminal for me to install a python package. Please make it so there is a terminal and you can install the python package for discord bot making.
