Repackaging of the same

I checked Elixir out after sort of enjoying the fabulous app. Elixir feels like the business model relies solely on getting subscription fees from people who forget to cancel and not by providing actual value.

The graphics are lovely and the only reason I feel they should even get one star. But there’s zero substance. I forgot to cancel my trial, so I figured I’d try to make the best of $40 spent. Essentially I’ve (inadvertently) paid $40 to have an app that just reminds me to think about things. That’s silly. If you have fabulous, you don’t need this. I’m not sure if the developer intentionally created 15 versions of the same app just to see what sticks, but there are more effective ways to conduct market research. Having a million apps to open by the same developers is a gross lesson in futility when you are trying to build new habits. This much friction (having to leave one app to go to another one for limited activity that could all be handled within one app) is counterproductive. This developer is losing credibility.

If fabulous works for you, you can skip all the other apps. If fabulous did not work for you, this one probably won’t either.

SCAM!

I came across Fabulous from an Instagram advertisement. I took the test, paid a dollar for my plan, then when it offered me a $200 subscription at 75% off and the 14 day free trial period; why not?
After signing up it immediately charged me $50 (and the $1 to set up) then had me download one of their apps. That’s when I discovered the advertisement on instagram wasn’t just for one app but 6 individual apps all with their own subscriptions!
I reached out for my $50 refund and to cancel the subscription and in seconds got a response saying “We regret to inform that in line with our T&Cs, the set-up fee for the trial period is non-refundable.” Mind you this is what the $1 was for, the subscription fee was $200 but 75% off… So, basically every subscription for each app is $200 and the apps offer nothing that Google doesn’t already help people with ADHD find. This is taking advantage of anyone with ADHD actually trying to find ways to improve their life. Absolute Scam.

*I will be leaving a review on each of their apps to warn others about the individual subscription fees.

It could not get past Continue at the end. It kept asking me to pay despite paying.

I have Fabulous, which works great except for some setup issues on additional devices. Elixir, this app, runs through about 5-10 minutes of questions then promises to set you up on a journey, but then slaps a paywall in front of that. I tried to pay, but it kept asking for more payments. I tried the two-week trial, it still kept asking me to pay. Within half an hour I had deleted Elixir . The developers really need to fix their setup logic. It just doesn’t work. I’ll be checking my card to see how many times they charged me and for which amount.

Update: I opened a support call. I was assured that the subscription had been cancelled and that no further charges would appear. After that I received two notifications that charges were made to the wallet card. I sent back the screenshots as my response to the call, requesting reversal of both. I am not confident it will get better.

Disappointed

I was so enjoying my free seven days and I bought the full app. Within a week I was receiving the same daily readings. Unlike Fabulous, there is no way to report the problem from Elixir that I can see.
Having completed fabulous, I was expecting a continuation but found it is using the same daily readings, which in itself I was okay with. Something I read a year ago may be beneficial to hear again, but the same readings continued and I felt disappointed.
A refund would be nice but even better: new content.

Disappointing LITERAL content duplication

I’ve been using Fabulous for a couple years now. It’s deeply flawed (my daily routines are NOT the same every day), but it has its advantages— particularly when it comes to self-knowledge.

I installed this new app from the Fabulous team instantly upon hearing of it because it sounded exactly like what I wanted to help me zero in on living my value-based life. I’m uninstalling as soon as I finish this.

The price is absurd for the content, especially if you’re already paying for Fabulous. In 2 days, I’ve gone through six segments. THREE of them are simply copied from the daily coaching on Fabulous — which I’ve already heard 5 dozen times to begin with, thanks.

The values check-in is as useful as Fabulous’ weekly review — which is to say, a gigantic useless waste of my time.

There’s not any meat on these bones. I don’t need or want more journaling prompts — like Fabulous, you need 100 different journals for this stupid thing.

Extremely disappointing.

Don’t buy this grift.

Went from loving it to regretting my purchase within a few weeks…

I signed up for the 7-day trial of Fabulous and was loving it so much that when they suggested checking out this app, I joined the 7-day trial the very next day. I used both of them for six days straight and was enjoying them both so when the 7-day trial of Fabulous was about to end, I went ahead and did a yearly subscription for both apps. At first I liked this app best, but within a few weeks the journey was over and that was it! And shortly after, the values questions began repeating and so did the daily coaching. I paid for a yearly subscription and only got less than a month’s worth of new material in this app. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I hope they will begin adding new content, as it was awesome for the first few weeks. I also hope they consider extending the subscription for those of us who paid and only got less than a months worth of new material. And lastly, both apps are glitchy. They have been calling me by someone’s else’s name, despite several emails to tech. Hopefully they will address these things and go back to being awesome!

Fabulous Getting Greedy?

I’m so annoyed with Fabulous taking the time to create these pointless apps when they haven’t been able to add a simple dark mode to their original Fabulous app for years!!! I feel like that’s a basic of apps nowadays. Not much has changed in the Fabulous app lately, and while I actually LOVE the Fabulous app I think they should be focusing their energy into that instead of getting greedy and trying to get a crap ton of money from people for extra apps no one wants or asked for. Integrate this into the original Fabulous if you must!!! Just add them as extra journeys. I think you’ll find it’s been a bigger waste of money to spend time on these other apps then to spend time with the original Fabulous. There’s several features that could be updated in Fabulous (more music, more art, dark mode, more videos, more journeys, etc.) for as much money as your people have put into one phone application. Again I do love Fabulous! But please focus on it and don’t come off as greedy.

Gorgeous but...

I LOVE the original Fabulous app, and still use it. Was intrigued by this new one, but so far it seems to just take a lot of the original app and repurpose it. I'm NOT paying $40 again for something I already pay for. Would be far more interested in checking it out for longer if it was only like $5 more for existing Fabulous subscribers.

$80/year for 2 apps that are 80% the same is definitely not worth it. I'll be sticking to the original Fabulous app for now until I can be convinced that this app is worth it.

On it’s way…

It’s new, so they are still developing and adding features. However, it’s a 3 star compared to the 5 star of Fabulous (at this time). For this reason, I think the price should be cut in half from $35 to $15 to maintain users. I have no doubt this will grow into a product as great as Fabulous, but it’s just not there yet. If it were cheaper, I’d be willing to stay after the trial period.

Starting to get redundant

I’m a big fan of the Fabulous app and Shape. I use them everyday and love them. I just wished this app would update their questions. It’s getting redundant. I found myself answering the same questions every couple of days. This comes From a very Loyal user of all your products. Fabulous changed my life. This has potential and that’s why I care enough to take the time to write this review. Thank you.

It’s a nice add on to fabulous

It’s a great concept and all. But Elixir , much like others may have mentioned, is around 90% the same as fabulous. It covers slightly different subjects but at its core it’s fabulous v1.5. Not a fan of there not being a free option with ads. Having to sub straight up left a sour taste. Let alone it’s 40 bucks. Granted it’s a year sub so not the worst thing ever especially for your mental health but I am not a fan of paying for another subscription to basically the same app I’m already paying for.

Great content, but not price tag

I love the Fabulous app. It is, well, fabulous! So much so that I will continue to subscribe as long as it exists. However, I agree with other reviewers that their other apps, Shape and this app, need additional content to justify the expense of $120 in subscriptions for all 3 per year. I'm sure the developers have a business case for having these as separate apps, but it would be great if Shape and this app were offered as expansion packs to purchase for the original Fabulous app, rather than stand alone apps. Perhaps the intent is for the end user to pick one rather than all 3, then it makes more sense. Price aside, I don’t want to have to log progress in 3 different apps. My recommendation is if you can only pick one, go with the original Fabulous!

Enjoy the Journey

If you’ve ever wanted to start journaling but you’re not sure where to begin, this app is a great solution. The values based prompts get me focused on big picture and self reflection. It’s a great tool while trying to detox from social media and constant app updates. I’m having a lot of fun with it and, if you seek introspection and growth, you will too.

Very Good

Elixir’s approach is a little different from the “Fabulous” app; it starts off more about thinking through things than doing things with your hands. However, if you’re thoughtful about it, and you make your own to-do items when you here them mentioned in coaching talks, you can progress pretty fast. I like Elixir quite a bit.

A gentle nudge in the direction you want

Unlike the Fabulous app which focuses on habit building, this app focuses on finding and incorporating your values into your life. The check-ins feel more like journal prompts/questions that you can answer as passively or as deeply as you like. I like that there’s no pressure to check things off throughout the day.

Great so far!

I started using Elixir about 4 days ago.. with that being said I can’t speak on the long term use of Elixir but I can speak on short term use. In the days I have used it, I feel it’s been extremely helpful. It’s great for motivation, finding values, finding your purpose. Of course only you can answer that question but it guides you to help you answer those questions. Small steps at a time but helps do little things daily for big change in the future. I will continue to use it.

Love

I have honestly loved everyone of these apps that I have tried. It really does help you on your journey and life. I highly suggest it to anyone anyone out there whether you need guidance or not it is totally worth it.

Very helpful app.

I use Elixir in conjunction with Fabulous, and I’ve seen improvements in all the facets of my life. Elixir is most useful as a journaling aid, as it gives different prompts to reflect on every day. It also tells you how to build your values (very important for mindsets!) and it has different coaching sessions, for every problem you can think of. If you’re looking to improve your mental health, get Elixir. I know you’ll learn something about yourself every day.
(Ps. If you’re worried about the price, it’s $50 for a year- that’s little more than a dime a day.)

A beautiful practice for better days

I start every morning with this app and have seen a huge improvement in my state of mind both in the mornings and throughout my day.

Finally!

Science based, no foo foo nonsense. No hocus pocus or toxic positivity here. Elixir is really great; im less of a wreck than I was just 4 days ago when I downloaded Elixir . I’ll probably end up subscribing for the year.
