Crashes when you try to upload a folder, very invasive feeling constantly asking you to allow full access to folders, requires tapping on each picture individually to send making it impossible to mass transfer or backup. I was very uneasy at first but was desperate to transfer 800GB of photos off my phone, and reddit didn’t say anything weird about it. Wasn’t even able to transfer one photo before I got sketched out and deleted it. I’m all for using “transfer over wifi apps” like Evermusic, but this one was just way too sketch and even if it is legit, it’s just not the solution for transferring anything more than a single picture or two.

You have to tap every single image individually and must only hit a specific tiny icon on each image. Same level of tedium as downloading iCloud images via browser on a Windows Desktop. Garbage.

Between my iPhone and a PopOS box, no files are being saved. It shows in the history, but the destination file is not written to disk.

On windows, there is the option to autostart minimized to system tray. Please add this functionality to the macos app and I will rate 5 stars.

I have a macbook, iPad, and a samsung phone, so you can imagine how complecated file sharing can be. This will be such an easy solve. However, for some reason I cant get my macbook to send to my iPad. Vice versa works fine though as well as functionality with my phone.

Please use the system photo picker instead of the current one so we could select photos more quickly with the drag gesture and not have to tap each individually. Thank you for developing LocalSend.

Works brilliantly across devices and platforms. Rare example of app of this sort that actually works, pretty intuitive, simple layout. Just took a second to figure out that to send you just need to select the device to send to (rather than hit a send button).

I've been looking for an easy way to get things from my iPhone and iPad to my Fedora, without all the extra things KDE Connect includes, and LocalSend is perfect ! I'm so glad I found it (thanks to Brodie) because it's easy to use and works great.

PS: Took me a second, but ya gotta split this in your VPN or the devices can't find each other, lol.

LocalSend is so useful it help me send my photos and files between devices with no hassle. Before I heard of LocalSend I was using goodgle drive and drop box and start to run out of storage space and was going to be charged this saved me money. If you need a app that helps you transfer between drives this is it.

This is one of the best little pieces of software I've installed in my life. It allows to me to send files, test, links, to my phone, Mac, Windows computer, and receive them too!

This should be an OS feature, beautiful.

If you don’t have a Mac and would like to transfer files from iPhone to pc or Linux, LocalSend works great. Clean interface, super easy to set up. Makes sharing original high quality photos from iPhone onto your computer a breeze. Big thanks to the developer!

This is the best ephemeral file dropping app I have ever used. It works perfectly across all my different devices and has a clean user interface. My only wish is that it had a drag to multi-select feature for media files, because clicking on 100+ individual photos is tedious.

Thank you, been looking for a simple way to transfer files from my iPhone and IPad to PC like airdrop without a cord this uses the local network (wifi) only to my knowledge. Download LocalSend on the receiving device/devices under the same network name them accordingly and transfer, its simple. No extra gimmick or payments or subscriptions just does what it says 5 star. Wish other apps “alternatives” learn something from this. Definitely deserves more popularity

Saw this while browsing GitHub, and use it all the time whether it’s for transferring pictures to my windows machine or moving notes. It works well and I haven’t had issues with it.

No bloatware, no ads, just very simple functionality. The platonic ideal of an app. Don’t forget to download the equivalent on your computer. Excellent way to get around Apple’s silly iCloud storage restrictions.

i love LocalSend , super fast and simple. i thought of a feature to add - it be nice to add a notification on Receiving phone ( so if Receiving iphone not unlocked and app not running) it would Notify them -that someone sent file---but open iphone and app to hit accept and Receive it.

I ran the middle school yearbook club, and I had no hesitation recommending LocalSend to my students. No data collected and privacy-conscientious. Our kids had a mix of iPhone and Samsung phones, and this was the easiest way to collect photos and videos taken by the club members. Thank you!

Works with my Android phone and is F-R-E-E.

I tried MacDroid and MacDroid wanted my payment details before it would let me do a free trial, otherwise it would lock me into read-only mode. I see a bunch of other apps that try to let macs communicate with droids also do the same tactic.

LocalSend doesn't, which is awesome. I didn't realize that I was supposed to download LocalSend on both my droid and mac so I spent like 5 minutes trying to figure out why my phone wasn't recieving anything.
