Impossible to cancel!!!

Don’t download!!! If you want to cancel, you have to email customer service that you want to cancel, right? No problem but when you do — they won’t let you. The customer service rep emails you back, argues with you, and asks you why you want to cancel. When you refuse to answer, and explain that you simply want them to cancel, they reply with a “but you didn’t give it a chance” email. If you don’t reply within their allotted time for their customer care ticket, they close the customer care response, without cancelling the subscription. Thus, you have to start ALL over, arguing with whomever you’re speaking. God forbid, you have a job — or are at a conference, and don’t have time to respond to them immediately. After they closed my ticket, in no uncertain terms, I responded with, “I am checking to be certain that my membership was canceled. I do not feel it necessary to provide a reason and you do not need anymore information to cancel it. Please cancel the membership and do not charge me another dime.” To which they responded with a litany of ambiguity— they’re sorry to see me go, but before I do — they’d like to know if I’m sure about my decision. I didn’t even speak with anyone or use their chat feature, and that the price is only $5.99 USD per month. I can’t tell you how livid I am. I hope Apple removes them from their platform.

Didn’t get what was advertised.

I connected with Lumi by answering a long list of questions in order to get a guide that would enable me to reduce the amount of clothes I had yet have more options (according to ad). I did the questionnaire, oh then you need to pay 99 cents to see the guide, okay paid it. Oh then you need to download Lumi , okay did that. Lumi has a button that says Continue, then you see a line that says “by pressing Continue you agree to….” But you can’t see the rest of what you are agreeing to.

So, I get as far as a I can but never did get my guide. I emailed support to cancel everything and they email me a link they said would get me straight to my guide! But all it got me to was a screen to set up a styling session with someone. I have a feeling even if I did get to my guide, it would be just info in general and not specialized for me.

My problem with Lumi is that it is poorly written and the marketing department has tried to trick me into the game. Bad on you, just be honest with what you are offering and people will probably pay, I know I would have but what I wanted was a customized guide book, not a session to talk to someone. I’m using the internet cause I don’t want to talk to people.

This app is a scam and the creators should be ashamed of themselves

I downloaded Lumi as a free trial and when I realize that Lumi was nothing like I expected it to be, I tried to cancel my trial before the subscription started. Literally the day I downloaded it.

Lumi itself has no option of canceling on your own. I reached out to their customer service and asked them to cancel for me.

I went back-and-forth with them through several emails in which they gave me advice on how to cancel it myself instead of just doing it for me.
Everything they advised me to do did not work. I sent them screenshots proving it so and they continue just to give me advice on how to cancel on my own.
I ended up getting charged for the trial because nothing they told me to do worked and when I reached out to them they said that they do not offer any refunds and that I am being charged because I chose the trial and didn’t cancel before the subscription started.
I expressed to them how upset I was after trying for several days to cancel through them, and then they told me that they canceled it now on their end. proving that they were able to cancel it for me all along but instead tried to make me jump through hoops probably so that they could get my money. After pointing this out, they denied that they would refund me but offered me a lifetime membership to their app.

I will definitely be disputing the charges and hopefully no one else falls into this trap.

Scam!!

If you see any ads for "Tailored" on Instagram/Pinterest, it is a complete scam. They advertise themselves as a styling service for different plus size body types. The website throws you into a "style" quiz; when the quiz is over, it'll ask for a .99 charge for your styling profile. They'll also ask you to add in extra style profiles for 2 or 3 dollars each. Once you put your email in, they'll take you to a page to download their app, or continue to the desktop website. The desktop website is a dead end, because when you confirm your email, they actually don't create your account (even after being charged), you're put on a waiting list.

I went to PayPal to check my charges and found out they had actually automatically, without my consent, signed me up for recurring charges as if I had subscribed! Thankfully I had paid with PayPal and could stop the automatic charges!

First time user; I was made comfortable

I came to Lumi from Facebook or Twitter. I don’t honestly remember. Questionnaires are always fun. Then being given the option to chat with a stylist was very nice. Grace was very patient and helpful. She helped identify colors for me, and I was a little surprised; but the more I ponder those colors, the more excited I am about potentially wearing them. I’m definitely looking for a little change in my wardrobe, and that would mostly be in adding colors. I’m a very casual senior, and I mainly live in jeans and T-shirts. I’m looking forward to my chat next week with a stylist to go a little further. I hope I can connect with Grace again; she was very helpful.

By

THIS IS A SCAM

Lumi doesn’t do any of the things they promise on the ads, also there’s no way to unsubscribe from the plan they force you to choose when creating an account, they won’t even give you a way to login to their platform, I spent days emailing them to get directions on how to cancel my subscription but all they did was delaying their answer until the trial expired and I got charged for the monthly subscription, only after the ‘support team’ emailed me steps to cancel the plan and even then they sent a broken link that I had to manually fix (an extra word and dash was added to the link they sent - I removed them manually, then copied and pasted the link to the browser) I ended up cancelling the subscription by ending the contract through paypal since Lumi doesn’t have a clear way to do this, I’m hoping they won’t charge my card again

By

Frustrated with customer support

I didn’t use this and wanted to cancel. Lumi makes it hard to find a login capability, so I struggled to get into my own account to unsubscribe (and this also prevented me from finding value in Lumi I was paying to not use). To try and receive assistance, I emailed support. I had to email THREE times (fist time and two replies) confirming I wanted to unsubscribe AND THEN THEY DIDN'T DO IT FOR ME AND JUST GAVE ME INSTRUCTIONS TO DO IT MYSELF. Their emails go to spam so all reset password and initial account set up didn’t appear to ever come to my inbox. I finally found it in spam and unsubscribed. But I really could not believe the support experience. Having worked in support myself, I was floored at the lack of just that- support. Thanks for a whole lot of wasted time and money.

Really enjoyed this app!!

Lumi was super helpful for me!
Diana was great with all of her tips and suggestions after some chatting about what I was interested in. My next session with Hanna was even more helpful and enjoyable. She compiled a capsule for me and I responded that two of the pieces were not my favorite. Hanna immediately went to work on choosing 2 different styles with 4 options each. Super fun having the links available to purchase the items if I choose.
Will definitely ask more questions and use again. Thank you!! 😀

Why are you scamming us?

I signed up for your trial through Facebook. You were prompt in charging my PayPal but I have no email from you confirming the trial as promised. You charged again for a hairstyle guide; where is it? What's more, I can't use my email to sign into your app, I can't try anything, nor can i cancel! Why??? I have to sign up again using my apple ID on Lumi and be charged again for another trial!! Why is it so hard to include the basics in your app? Is it bcoz your intention is to scam us? I even gave you a couple of days to send the email but nothing yet. Today is day3 of the trial and since I see no benefits I want to cancel. Why is there no option to cancel? Why are you cheating customers? If you charge the full fee I will dispute it. I will even report you to the BBB.

By

Has potential to be great, but not there yet

I agree with what everyone else said about the recurring charge and confusing up charges. I would suggest not signing up for the free trial unless you’re ok with being charged the subscription fee. They absolutely will NOT refund your money. I’m leaving it at 3 stars because their customer service team was responsive and professional and I have hopes this company will see the benefits of expanding their services and creating something truly unique and stellar. They have the potential to be great, but really need to take a closer look at their policies and the value of what you’re getting for your money.

WARNING SCAM ACCOUNT HACKERS

I downloaded the this app app yesterday and this morning my bank notified me of NOT 1 BUT 3 fraudulent charges on my account from this app totaling over $100! I immediately deleted Lumi and had to cancel my credit card. I'm thankful I have a decent bank that protects my accounts from frauds such as these but the download wasn't worth the inconvenience the time it took to work with my bank and the block on my account until my new card arrives. Now I find out they hacked into my PayPal account and charged another card. NONE of these were authorized in any way shape or form on my end and I did not have an active account.

BUYER BEWARE! ***If you are actively using Lumi make sure and watch your accounts for random changes from this developer ****

Grate advice

At first I was a little confused with Lumi understand the daily challenges, and I’m not sure if I clicked on an advertisement, but it was trying to get me to buy another subscription but I use the chat function to get some advice from a style at on how to style these two beautiful skirts I’ve had for over two months, but still have not worn. I’m really excited to try them over this holiday weekend. Shout out to Olive for making this a very enjoyable experience!

By

First time user-great app!

I just had my first session with Tiffany. She was so helpful and shared some good references. I loved the discussion about colors. She suggested a few new ones for me and I’m looking forward to checking them out. I also liked that when she showed me a go-to outfit, I could click on the item to see where to purchase. I would recommend this service to anyone that is fashioned impaired like me. Have fun and look your best! Great resource.

New experience

Lumi was a little vague but the chat with my stylist Anthony was great. He was very attentive and we had great conversation about my skin tone, my colors and he was very informative . I feel much better about getting started with my goals. The only complaint is waiting a week between appointments. I feel like I was excited to get started just to wait.. Anthony deserves a raise though because he has the patience of a saint😂

By

Knowledgeable Stylists

this app is has an amazing chat feature. You can send your outfits or ask for inspiration. The stylists are knowledgeable, professional, and kind. They will let you know if you are highlighting your best assets. As a plus-size woman, I was happy to see that their reference images featured people of all sizes. While their guide is not particularly personalized, the chat feature is worth way more than $1 for 3 days or the monthly fee. You have a consultant in your pocket 24/7.

By

First chat with stylist -Anthony

I was not sure what to expect, but it sure wasn’t the personal professional and informative chat that I had with Anthony. This is the first time I’ve interacted with a stylist aside from email or text and it went very well. Anthony explained the process easily, and gave me information and options to best highlight my assets. I look forward to seeing the outcome of choosing new options for my wardrobe.

My experience with Lumi fashion app has been fantastic!

My experience with this app fashion app has been fantastic! The platform is user-friendly and offers a wide variety of sustainable clothing options. I also had the opportunity to work with one of their personal stylists, who provided expert guidance and personalized recommendations. Overall, I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a convenient and eco-conscious way to shop for clothing.

Misleading & Feels like a trap

I purchased and gained access to Lumi . It is not at all what it sells prior to subscribing. It is a style course only accessible one day at a time with basic generic style theories you learn in fashion school.

To have a custom stylist or actual styling you need to pay for additional up sells. Multiple additional in app purchases for almost EVERY feature.

Once logged in I tried to cancel and CANNOT ACCESS MY ACCOUNT. Never received a confirmation email, was never prompted to create a password. Password reset did not show my email as valid. This is a trap to bill you beyond the 3 day trial. Even the structure of the first goal is set to 4 days. Not cool.

By

Can’t cancel my subscription

I just downloaded Lumi, it is nothing like it portrays itself to be. I Immediately tried to cancel my subscription it will not except my email address associated with my account. I made my account 10 minutes prior to me trying to cancel it. I emailed the company after three attempts of trying to cancel and looking through all of my emails to see if I missed something. I will dispute any charges made by Lumi using the time stamp of this review and the time stamp on the email sent along with the screenshots of Lumi not accepting my email to cancel.

By

First chat

I only gave it 4 stars because it doesn’t have an Avatar or something. Other than that Grace knows Lumi and appreciated my style sense. Gave me advice on what to use in my closet to bring out my own style and really focused on what I wanted to achieve. I want to be stylish but use the clothes that I already have. Keep within my budget and not worry about going outside of my comfort zone. I’m going to keep using Lumi.

By

Scam

Lumi is a scam. Like other have instructed on prior reviews, Lumi baits you in with fluffy words only to charge $50 dollars a few days later for a subscription. This is a clear bait and switch tactic that unscrupulous companies use to collect an initial payment in hopes customer will not see charge. However those customers watching for charges and disputes said charges, the merchant gives them the run around in hopes they will go away with their tails tucked between their legs. File a dispute claim with your bank or credit card company, bbb and anyone else willing to listen. This will place them on a list of companies to watch. It’s said the only way a company feels they can stay afloat is by scamming the public.

And customer care, save the fluffy frequently rehearsed word of how you value the customer and you are sorry for the experience. If you are truly sorry, mention the $50 charge on Lumi before the public clicks on Lumi .

By

Newbie

I ran across this on Facebook and I’m just exploring it. I’m older and retired so I don’t do a lot where I need to look put together. I usually just wear oversized tee shirts and shorts or leggings. I’m interested in seeing what kind of outfits you come up with and if I look good in them and if I’m comfortable. I have Arthritis both RA and OA. My feet hurt a lot so I have to be careful about footwear. I have so many shoes and slippers that I can’t wear because they hurt my feet. Your business seems interesting!!

By

SCAM! Beware they charge you even if you cancel before 3 day trial

Do not download and try 3 day trial. Ifyou do not want subscription and cancel they charge you regardless. They refuse to refund your money. They charge when you cancel the service per their terms after 3 day trial. They claim per their policies they cannot refund you. It is a scam, they want money not to offer a valued service. Just go to a department store and someone will help you pick your style for free. This should be a crime

First time using an app like this

I am obsessed with Lumi. I kind of expected it to be useless as I already feel like I have a good sense of style, but boy was I wrong. There are so many helpful tips no matter what experience you have styling yourself! It is completely suited for you. Completely. I am not just saying that because most apps will tell you they customize your experience for you but this one absolutely follows through on that. I don’t usually leave reviews but after only 20 minutes of having Lumi I am so glad I paid to get all these features. Trust me, it is worth it!

(I’m excited to get to the section of Lumi that talks about shopping on a budget, because boy o boy am I on a budget haha)

By

Scam

Lumi makes it look like they are a clothing service like Stitch fix or something. It is not.

You go through all these steps thinking that it’s getting you to the point where you can put in your sizes and you pay the styling fee ($15 and $.99 for something else) You get all the way to the end and they want to schedule a time for a stylist to talk to you. That’s literally all the service is.

So I get through all of that and realize that it isn’t what I thought it was at all. I immediately email them for a refund seconds after downloading Lumi . They email me back and say that because I clicked on their user agreement that I don’t get a refund, because apparently it’s in the user agreement that they don’t issue refunds. Give me a break. You only need to put that in your user agreement if you know you’re trying to trick people into buying something that they don’t want. Scam scam scam is all I can say! Don’t fall for it!

By

Scam alert!

WATCH OUT, Lumi charges a $35 subscription fee without being transparent about it, the language is hidden in the terms section. I signed up for Lumi , paid the 0.99, and then didn’t even finish setting up my profile and noticed that I was being charged $35. After 24 hours the charges occur, but this subscription does not show up in your Apple subscription settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions) to cancel. When I brought this to the company’s attention they denied my refund even though I shared that I NEVER signed up for this subscription or even knew there was a monthly subscription charge with Lumi . Customer service ignored my refund request and was not helpful. BE CAREFUL BEFORE DOWNLOADING Lumi AS YOU WILL BE CHARGED, it feels like a total scam!

By

Beware!!

Lumi costs $50/month. I signed up and agreed to pay $.99 for a wardrobe recommendation. Suddenly a $50 charge hit my account. I protested immediately (within an hour) and was told too bad. No refunds. But they would be nice enough to let me use Lumi for the full month I already paid for. This subscription is a scam. Careful what you agree to. These companies that bury automatic subscriptions into their illegible terms and conditions are slimy. The one session I scheduled with a stylist was wholly useless. It took 35 minutes to exchange about 4 messages and then I got style links with outfits that were sold out.

Totally corrupt company. Avoid at all costs.

By

BEWARE - SCAM

I wish I would have read the reviews before downloading Lumi. Lumi is 100% not what is advertised. I tried to cancel, tried getting a refund and their “money back guarantee” is extremely limited - I have yet to hear about a user that has gotten any money back. Lumi developer is completely immoral and unhelpful. They only care about getting money from you and believe me, every single thing you want to do in Lumi costs money, aside from communicating with someone who sounds like chatgpt. Everything that is advertised is not available - no personal stylist, no helping with your style. Such a waste of $35 for something I will
never use and didn’t operate as advertised. All I want is my money back and to be done with Lumi. I don’t advise anyone to get Lumi. You will be disappointed.

By

Very Misleading and expensive

You will be led down a rabbit hole with this experience. Everything is an additional add-on, and the monthly subscription is close to $100. Once you get through the $.99 bogus leading to Lumi . You cannot purchase clothes through Lumi they only make stylist suggestions. And then charge you excessively for each additional experience. So before you even get to utilize Lumi you’re $16 in to find out it’s going to cost you 80+ dollars per month, they do not disclose their fees upfront only the $.99 download buyer beware they would not refund my app expenses. Once I saw the expense of the monthly subscription they did offer an alternative versus refund. But it was not acceptable to me.

By

Unsure about app but chat function is good and Valerie was, too.

I’m u sure how useful Lumi will be beyond the chat function, but I really enjoyed having a stylist send me options. Valerie was kind and accommodating and I felt like she sent me some outfit options that stretch me just a bit but also that I was comfortable with. It would be particularly useful if actual shopping links were available for the items, particularly for sourcing large petites, which is a lot of what I find difficult when shopping. I look forward to working with Valerie again and will see what I can find in the meantime.

By

More money than you think

I really liked the idea of Lumi, however, after you download it you have to pay additional sums ($15,$6 etc) to get the support they advertise (ie style guide, cool guide).
I had a ridiculous txt conversation with stylist where they answered every 10 minutes, asked vague questions like “tell me about yourself”. I did all of the heavy lifting and then I was sent some obviously pre generated outfits with links to purchase.
The only thing they do is send you articles to read everyday. I don’t have time for homework.
A part of me feels like I fell for a scheme and I am a little embarrassed I paid for it at all.

By

Scam-positive reviews are bots/fake

And the “stylists” are probably AI too. This is not a clothing service like Stitch Fix or anything. You do not receive a product. They charge you to have you fill out quizzes then give you access to their crappy style books that anyone could find better for free online. Lumi and “styling service” costs $50 a month for this. Then they try to rip you even more by getting you to purchase the clothing they suggest from these Asian clothing places that we all know either never ship, take 3 months, and are in Asian sizing meaning a size women’s Large would fit my 4 year old. The stores usually don’t even exist and when you look them up you find nothing but an email address based in China. No real business. They make it impossible to cancel, as if no one has tried that before and us Dumb Americans are all morons who will fall for the same old tricks. This is clearly yet ANOTHER China based scam, them trying to rip off and best people whose money means nothing. What is wrong with these people? Go get a real job. If you are unhappy with your government, blame them or yourselves. It isn’t America’s fault. We are sick of your scams and your superiority complex.

By

Buyer Beware!

I have never left a review on an app before.
The people that you work with through chat to develop outfits are very good.
The problem is, they don’t tell you that you only have two hours after your session to use the links that they sent you. After that, they are gone. There is no way to reconnect to reinstate your link. I did an individual outfit, and then I attempted the pod outfit. The pod outfit delivers in an email so I thought I was safe. However, I came down with the flu and by the time I went back to the email it was gone. You can’t actually talk with a person except through chat, and it takes forever to go back-and-forth and I still have not gotten resolution. When you schedule appointments, it’s fine but if something changes and you have to set a different date, there is no calendar on Lumi that allows you to do it. I have given up. I wasted my money. This is a interesting idea to find clothing, but they were not ready to launch Lumi. There are too many problems. I would say skip it and come back in a year and see if they have fixed the problems

By

Waste of Time

I wouldn’t wear any of the things selected. They were the opposite of the profile I filled out and none of the fits were what was recommended for my body type. There were 4 pairs of stilettos in my selected outfits when I said no stilettos, a tight body con thing when I said nothing tight like that, tennis shoes selected when I said I don’t wear tennis shoes, it was like nothing from the quiz or my notes was taken into consideration. I used to use stitch fix back in the day and was hoping Lumi didn’t have the same problems of listening to what you’re filling out in the survey but they do. Another half thought out style app, sad I was hoping this would be a good one. There’s also a ton of pointless things to click through on Lumi . A more streamlined accurate app would be way better. Not a fan of the pricing structure either, one thing costs a dollar, $5 there etc, if they were better at picking clothes out that’s where the profit should come from.

By

Terrible app and “product”

If I could give this leas than 1 star I would. After answering a bunch of questions to get a “style guide,” you then find out it costs 99 cents. Well, okay, but then you have to download Lumi and them they want you to pay even more money for more “guides,” which I did not. Then you’re forced to schedule a stylist session to get to the guide you already paid for. Then you finally get to the style guide which is garbage and tells you nothing any girl who’s ever played with a Barbie doll doesn’t already know. And “Color Me Beautiful,” really??!! We all found out that was crap in the 80’s. Unbelievable! And Lumi is crap! I now see other reviews talking about a subscription or something (wish I had read these before). I’d better not get charged for anything in the future as I dis not sign up for anything. Really, please don’t waste your time or money on this.

By

Bogus

I am completely dissatisfied with the consultation I received and all of the extra add-ons I paid for. Nothing was customized in the least- the consultant showed me four outfits and got offline before I could request any changes, which I wanted to do because none of the outfits were cute or trendy nor did they fit my style! And the hair “add-on” purchase was literally a brochure that was more poorly written than any free website I could’ve found the exact same tips on, was not customized to my face or current hair style, and is shelled out to everyone for a fee! I requested a refund of my $40 and was turned down!. The company does not care if you are happy with what you receive, and they only care about scamming people to make the most profit. This was the most bullsh*t service I’ve ever ever purchased. Stitchfix is worth 10x more than this.

By

My first session

My first session with Charlotte was amazing. We went through a brief lifestyle and preference chat and she sent me a download off what my first outfit would be to suit me based on what I said and I loved the outfit. I’m so excited to continue this. It’s way more cost effective than running three hours to a mall or store and looking all day trying on clothes and going out to eat and driving back home three times a quarter. And I don’t trust online shopping. I bought some cute stuff at TJ Maxx online and both outfits swallowed me. Wasted money. I’m giving this a try.

By

Horrible

Not for plus size people! It says everywhere that it is, but it’s not. The person that is texting with you, is also texting with other people, you can tell because it takes so long for them to get back to you. I even sent my measurements and she sent me stuff that looked cute, baggy, but I guess it’s a fashion, and would not fit my waist. I told her if I wanted to be humiliated about not being able to fit into stylish clothes, I would go shop local. The ad said that they specialize in plus size women they do not!

Also, this isn’t a thing where they sent to clothes. This is a thing where they pick outfits for you from Asian clothing sites and you order them.

It took a while, but I did get a refund.

Great concept

I found the mechanism to get to the information I needed to be a little convoluted and shady, but I’m not afraid to cancel something so I did it anyway.

Once I did, I connected with a stylist via chat and that WAS very helpful. I asked for clarification about the spend before we really engaged as I didn’t want to waste either of our time. She directed me to Lumi and I was able to change the terms to something palatable for me.

We did our first “look” and discussed different items. I probably won’t buy the linked products because I have similar items to what was presented but hadn’t paired them the way she did. THAT is exactly what I was looking for so I’m happy about it.

I also bought the Capsule wardrobe and I’m looking forward to that chat, expecting similar results.

I’d warn people to actually read the terms and conditions carefully as they are not highlighted appropriately.

By

Waste of time and energy

Don’t do it.
It was a waste of time, money and effort. I thought the stylist was supposed to recommend clothing that would look good on me… how can she do that without knowing what I actually look like? Not once did the stylist ask for a photo, or measurements, or video conference or anything. I’m absolutely mystified as to what this service actually is - because it certainly isn’t what was advertised.

I connected with a stylist and explained what I was looking for in my wardrobe and what my challenges are. It’s like that all fell on deaf ears. I told her I’m short and pants don’t work for me because they need to be hemmed. She sends me outfits that are all based on pants. It told her I don’t like wearing floral patterns and that tiered dresses aren’t my thing… she send me tiered, floral dresses. I told her the fabrics from the ONE BRAND that she kept sending me to looked cheap and poorly made and she chose to end our session without actually providing me with the wardrobe options I was looking for. Cancelled the service immediately.

Wish there was a zero star option

I downloaded Lumi thinking it wasn’t just consultation, but also a store. Turns out, you’re getting Lumi to pay someone to tell you information on fashion. Fun fact, you get this for free by searches online. No need to pay anyone for that information unless you really want to.

I canceled my subscription while it was still in its trial. In fact, I canceled it the very next day when I realized what Lumi was really about. Then I noticed I’m being billed for it despite having canceled it before my trial was up. I reach out for customer service and I’m told that they aren’t responsible for issues on my end and I won’t be getting my money back. A lot of people are going to read my review and think, “It’s only $20, what’s the big deal?” The big deal is that I am a single mother, I don’t have a partner or friend bringing in another income. After charging my account, despite my cancellation, they left me with $5. I needed to go to the store for food. I can make what I had in my account stretch enough for a week and a half. I’ve had a lot of practice working on that. So, now I can’t get what I need to feed my kid.

DONT DO IT, it’s an absolute trap.

Could have done it myself

I feel like I was misled in the first place. Lumi was not represented in whatever I initially looked at. What I saw was a much better service, so they must know they aren’t up to par.
The “trends” they try to convince you of are absolutely absurd. My “stylist” gave me 6 generic options of styles to select from. They all felt like a breakfast of Grape Nuts & Butter-less rye toast. I had to go on my Pinterest board & screenshot my general thoughts.

What I got in return was an outfit put together with a bunch of links to other stores such as Zara, Etsy…
When I asked to see a simpler version of one item, they seemed confused. Even the most amateur, yet dedicated stylist would have an idea within the context.

The worst part is probably that they managed to attempt to style me with no measurements, no photos of myself, no questions about what is functional for my lifestyle.

At the end I was given a link to purchase the outfit. Umm…yeah, no. Because I can go to these places one by one. More importantly, they sure as heck aren’t about to send me those clothes.

I was looking for a modern custom look with brands that fit my lifestyle and don’t make me look like I’m trying to be 21 forever (see what I did there? Ha!) but I ended up making all of the corrections to something I’m not interested in.

Lastly, I think, finding the right color palette is one thing they boast of, yet my entire offering was black.

So, absolutely not.

Does not work

This has all been a horrible waste of time and money. The initial advertisement and functionality felt user friendly and intuitive aAR FIRST, but after you get thru the incredibly long intake form and are forced to pay, then all of a sudden the guidelines are hard to understand and the process to arrange a stylist meeting thru the now harder-to-use app is impossible. Then you’re automatically charged for recurring payments even though you literally never received any services. Lumi has a ‘manage subscription’ section but there is no option to unsubscribe or cancel, and the only buttons you can press are ones that automatically recharge you for more services. I could see this tricking people into multiple payments per month. There are also ZERO heads up that you’re about to be charged. It’s all very unprofessional and this preys on people who they think won’t notice or think to do anything about monthly subscriptions.

Great App for plus-sized young professional

I just finished my Stylist Session with Hanna!!! It was great after a few questions she was able to curate some really nice styles for me. Four of them that I loved. Will be ordering the pantsuit for a date I have in a month. Would recommend to everyone it’s worth it.
Only one thing that irritated me a bit is that I was thinking about the wording to answer the stylist question she sent, while thinking another message was sent to tell me that she was gonna close the chat so I had to quickly send a response. I don’t think I took more than 5 minutes to answer and I didn’t like that at first but being patient paid off because I got a beautiful outfit suggestion.

In spite of that Lumi is great and I love it. Can’t wait till next month!!!!

5 stars for customer service

I never got a lot of use from Lumi ; I tried being more fashion-forward, but it just isn’t me, and I no longer wanted to pay for the product with my budget. Anyway, the customer service is AMAZING. I had problems trying to cancel, Lumi was being fussy, so I quickly emailed. They were prompt, courteous, and though they did their due diligence in trying to get me to reconsider, they ultimately understood and didn’t push or overwhelm me once. It was a very smooth and polite interaction. Props to the customer service, most apps and businesses could learn something from this app!

1st chat with my stylist

Well, I was skeptical about trying another clothing app, but so far I am glad I did. They have made Lumi easy to navigate and easy to answer questions. The amazing part was my stylist Lana-in our appointment she asked a bunch of questions to actually narrow down what I wanted. She didn’t want to just send me the same stuff she sends everybody else. in about a half an hour maybe 40 minutes she figured out how I wanted to change my style and came up with an outfit that is truly amazing! If this continues, I’m going to be the happiest woman in my town! Lol the other clothing apps don’t really care much about who you are or what style will go with your life. So far this app has!! This is actually the first time I’ve ever had a chat with my stylist. Never has my stylist worked this hard to figure me out!! And we chatted immediately the same day that I signed up.
I will keep everybody updated as I get my outfit and do my next appointment with Lana. I’ll let you guys know if they stay amazing or if they don’t. But I think they’re going to.

My first stylist session

I really didn’t know what I was thinking this morning while scrolling on Facebook. Then I saw an ad about updating my wardrobe and looking my best for my age- well yeah I want to do that! So I went for it, why not… I’ll just close out if it’s not for me. But then they had me really thinking about myself and answering questions and before I knew it I was scheduled with a stylist. Sam was great! She picked out an outfit that was spot on for my employment but can still go out with my husband for dinner afterwards and feel good about myself. She was even able to modify the shoes she picked out because I didn’t like them. I stand 10 hours a day and needed comfortable shoes(tennis shoes) while dressed business casual. Honestly I thought was going to be talking to an AI and this was going to be a waste of time- but Sam was quick and understood exactly what I needed and was looking for. She found me the cutest pair of shoes! I’m kinda excited about getting this outfit- I will update this review after it’s delivered!! Oh yeah- the best part was it didn’t cost a lot of $$ to try it.
