One think I would like to see fixed.

I love NETBibleFormerlyLumina and it is one of the best resources I have. I especially like the translator's notes as well as the study notes. One thing that is a minor annoyance on the iPad and iPhone apps is that when a verse is highlighted, the page normally changes and it is necessary to go to the other page to highlight any additional verses. Sometimes this happens more than once when trying to highlight a passage. Like I said, I really like NETBibleFormerlyLumina overall, but this is something I would really like to be fixed in a future update. It's the only thing that kept me from giving a 5 star rating.

Pretty good

Very friendly design, very readable, and good notes. There are some visual quirks/flickers, and UI is funny in some areas, but overall one of the best Bible apps in NETBibleFormerlyLumina Store. Only wish you could space out the line height for better readability.

Love the version

Love the version. Love NETBibleFormerlyLumina and the features but it quit letting me select a book of the Bible. It would only let me select the current book I was in and a chapter of that book. Please fix this as it is my favorite to use out of about 10 different Bible apps that I have. This inability to select a book keeps me from using it all together and I have to choose a different app.
I rebooted and that didn’t help so I deleted NETBibleFormerlyLumina and reinstalled. I didn’t want to have to do that because I had multiple notes and highlights that were very important to me as I am an avid student of the Bible.

Great

It’s great to have the NET translation with Notes on my phone. NETBibleFormerlyLumina is great, especially when one considers that it is free, after all.

As others have mentioned, the one drawback is the handling of the notes. Since the extensive notes are one of the main draws of the NET, it would be better if there was a way to have the notes accessible in a better way than the pop-up form, like a separate area of the screen or something. But again. Free app, and everything else is elegant and intuitive.

This is a fantastic app for intense bible study!

There are many things to love about NETBibleFormerlyLumina. All the text notes are absolutely awesome, but one of my favorite features of NETBibleFormerlyLumina is the page turning effect. It feels like I’m turning the page on a physical bible. I LOVE that feature! I’m a person who uses multiple different translations for deeper study. It’s awesome to add this to my ebook library. Highly Recommended!

P.S. - I would love a “words of Christ in red” feature on a future update of NETBibleFormerlyLumina . Thank you!

A must have app for bible students

This translation is my second favorite behind the NRSV since it's hard to find a readable, accurate mid-functional translation. The OT is translated w/o interpretation from the NT. And done so by Protestant evangelicals no less! Talk about an trans. honest to the text & not theology. And don't get me started on the fairly neutral( though sometimes conservative) notes! So helpful and informative! Only drawback is the lackluster psalms. If they update the poetry some more & this may be my first choice Bible.

Great App

I have the full notes printed edition of this bible but, I find myself using NETBibleFormerlyLumina more as my reading companion alongside the thin line edition.

If I would make one tiny suggestion; can you make the note “call-out” a little bit wider? I think that for the longer notes, it will make reading them a bit easier.

Perfectly simple Bible app

This Bible app is my favorite because it does exactly what I need and does it very well. It is fast, easy to navigate, and provides excellent historical context. I love being able to turn pages rather than scroll down because it is so much easier than scrolling exactly 1 full page.

Problems with the new update

I have been using NETBibleFormerlyLumina for almost a year on my iPad Pro. I enjoy using the NET Bible in hard copy. To have it, along with all the notes, on the iPad is a great resource!
However, after the most recent update the search function no longer works. I can navigate text fine, the notes are all there, but when I click the search magnifying glass icon NETBibleFormerlyLumina crashes. Please fix this and NETBibleFormerlyLumina will be back at five stars!

So much easier to understand

NETBibleFormerlyLumina is great, i can adjust the font , bookmark . I now tale an interest in reading the bible in a more modern form of the english language. People say they only read the kJV and its the best, well the best would be if you could read the original hebrew, greek and armaic . Reading this bible is better then not reading another bible that you struggle to understand.

Poor Layout for Reading NET Bible notes

This would be a good tool for accessing the NET Bible notes, which most of the time are unique and excellent notes. BUT, the box that appears and shows the notes IS SO SMALL its better to just go online and read them. It would be better if you could split the screen and have the scripture text on one side and the notes on the other, instead of having to read them in these tiny pop up boxes. Until then, I will be just using the online page.

Favorite Bible app not compatible yet with iPhone XR

Love NETBibleFormerlyLumina and all the notes in it. My I Phone XR with the notch in top covers the drop down menu so I can’t look up specific verses anymore, but only use search. I put 5 stars because I figure you’re working on the problem and will update NETBibleFormerlyLumina soon, right?

NET Bible on iPhone

I have used the printed version of NET Bible for years before finally downloading NETBibleFormerlyLumina . NETBibleFormerlyLumina is wonderful, taking the awesome NET Bible translation and then using mobile to modernize its use. The ease of use is great. The interface is uncluttered and smooth. And the translation with excellent translator notes are all here. I highly recommend it!

Great Translation & App

NETBibleFormerlyLumina lets you turn off chapter, verse and note numbers. Doing so allows you to read The NET Bible in reader mode. Also has the ability to make your own notes and bookmarks that will sync across all your devices. Night mode too. Great Translation and great App.

Few format options

Should be able to have an entire chapter on a page, but NETBibleFormerlyLumina presents the Word as if in a book, meaning 5:1&2 may be at the bottom of a “page”, and you have to swipe left to turn for continuation. Since ALL other apps use up/down it’s an unpleasant change.

Best Chess App around

Best chess app I've found, with a trainer that actually gives good thought out suggestions rather than just random moves. The tutor had suggestions leading to combinations 3 or 4 moves deep. You can actually learn by keeping the tutor on and thinking through why it's suggesting that move.

What happened?

Before Lumina there was the NET app until the other day all of scripture disappeared unless you searched for a particular spot. So I downloaded Lumina since it comes from the same people. This morning again. No scripture unless you search. Please, I really liked NET version with the brown highlighted explanations was so much better to see. Why mess with a good thing? God help them! And me. Bless you because it is still better than other bible apps

A wealth of understanding!

I love this! It's much better than the you version app. It opens immediately and is super easy to navigate.
The footnotes are incredible and offer such a deep well of understanding.
Bonus: the way you turn the pages on it is just so cool.

Best Bible App to search

I love the fuzzy search function because the verse I’m usually looking for is usually the top hit. Exact search is an option too.
Add that to the copious notes and you’re all set with the most powerful study Bible on earth. Thanks NET Bible team and Biblical Studies Foundation!

Broken

White screen of death, like others. I can delete and reinstall, but it crashes if I navigate to the end of Revelation, and then stops working. I sent the support staff the crash logs, but they have not attempted to correct the issue to my knowledge. In the meantime, I'm using Pocket Sword because it doesn't crash.
Update: Even with 2018 update, app is corrupt after navigation to the end of Revelation. You must then delete and reinstall, and avoid the end of Revelation.
