Look, I absolutely agree that developers should be paid for their hard work. However, to take advantage of people with ADHD (which is a federally recognized disability) by putting resources to help manage it behind a paywall to the tune of $16/month when most of America is struggling financially is absurd. Especially when there are SO many reported bugs! In a previous response to the price from the developers on another review, they mentioned having a 4 person team they needed to pay to work full time on Numo . There shouldn’t be this many bugs from a full time team. It seems the switch to full time development was too eager too soon. I just can’t justify the cost.
First off after starting a free trial how do we unsubscribe?! Countless others have the same issue. I do not want to have to go through a refund process because y’all made it impossible to unsubscribe. And your contact us buttons, etc, don’t work either. Had lots of bugs interfere with my ability to get the most out of Numo as well. Pages with tips would pop up but instead of letting me skip them it would get stuck in a loop upon closing it would reopen immediately and i couldn’t do anything until it eventually glitches and disappeared. Every app i have subscribed to lets me unsubscribe in Numo store but some how your app does not. PLEASE update that to make it more accessible. This is ridiculous.
I downloaded Numo . Never used it after the first day. I forgot to cancel before my trial ended and was charged 65 dollars for 6 months. I was supposed to get a reminder to cancel but I did not. I have requested a refund so I hope I get one. But after looking at my PayPal account I realized not only was I charged for a 6 month subscription but also a monthly subscription, and even though I had already cancelled at least 2 weeks ago (I can’t remember for sure). I was charged another month subscription fee. I have been charged $97 for an app I am not using and 32 of that should have never been charged. Plus, the most current charge will over draw my bank account so I will also have to pay an overdraft fee from them!
One of their huge promotion points is how easy it is to get a refund if you forget to cancel your subscription. Not only did I cancel my subscription before the deadline, but I was still charged $90 anyway. Despite reaching out three separate times, I’ve still yet to receive my refund or even a response that isn’t an automated message. I very seldom leave reviews but I’ve waited over a full business week to get a response and have heard nothing back even though another promotion point is getting a response from a person within 12 hours.
It’s really frustrating because Numo is allegedly supposed to make things easier for neurodivergent individuals but in reality it is taking advantage of them. I’m just lucky I noticed the charge on my credit card because I was under the impression my subscription had been cancelled based on the fact that I literally went through all the steps to cancel it.
TLDR: App tried to overcharge me, info is hard to make sense of and seems unprofessional with dubious sources, it made me start a second free trial to get back into Numo , it was difficult to navigate cancelling my sub.
- A lot of the info is difficult to read because the grammar is really bad. It feels like maybe it was translated (badly) into English. It was hard to make sense of what it was saying.
- A lot of the language wasn’t very professional, so it felt like someone just slapped it together, and the info didn’t feel trustworthy. Felt like someone googled the info and wrote the first thing that popped up, rather than a professional providing info. Plus there were no sources for where this info came from that I could find.
- At the end of the free trial my reminder to cancel didn’t go off because I set it wrong (lol adhd) and Numo tried to charge me $90. Luckily my bank blocked the charge. It said Numo would cost $60 twice a year (which is still WAY too high for an app like this. I use Numo Flo, which is way better put together and more professional, and it’s a quarter of the cost).
- When I went to cancel my subscription, Numo wouldn’t let me in without starting a second free trial, and when I found where to cancel my sub, it just said to do it through my phone settings. There’s not even a way to do it on Numo itself.
Good idea in concept, but unusable. I was excited to try Numo while looking for ADHD tools, but now i’m just disappointed.
Half the features are locked, you only have access to the in-app community if you pay (which is ridiculous because ADHDers are in critical need of community for both emotional and functional needs), and you can’t even edit the items in your current day’s tasklist once you’ve posted them — only routine/repeating tasks, or tasks for future dates, can be edited. If you mess up anything in the task or just need to adjust it later, have fun erasing it and creating a whole new task — you better hope it wasn’t the one with like 10 sub-steps because you’re gonna hate it real quick.
(Oh, and minor bug of little importance — Numo icon never changes, no matter which customization option i choose. Bummer, because i love Halloween themes and designs, and i was really into the franken-icon.)
Sorry for the negative review. Maybe the developer is still learning (or ADHD has them forgetting to fix things) — i’d like to try using it again in the future, when it works better. But as it is right now, i wouldn’t spend another day on Numo if you paid me. Functioning is hard enough as it is.
I’m just on my free trail which I did already go into iTunes and cancel so that it won’t renew after 7 days. There isn’t clear directions on how the set up will go and it made me very anxious and overwhelmed just trying to creat my account. The silly questions about my ADHD being an animal or character made me very uncomfortable and I almost quit at that point. My ADHD isn’t some joke you can make a story about it’s my life and I’m learning to deal with it everyday. From what I can see Numo is average you can tell the people who created it were attempting to gear it towards people with ADHD but just have the text book knowledge of what it’s like.
there are many things that Numo does well, but there are two main issues that would prevent me from subscribing. first, Numo does not seem to be written well in english. i am not sure if it’s translated to english, but either way it needs to be written better. it’s written well enough that i know what it’s saying, but it takes a lot of mental energy to understand. secondly, $15-$16 a month is waaaaaaaay too expensive for Numo. especially considering Numo is for people with ADHD, it should be priced at $1-$3/month. with those improvements, i would definitely subscribe and continue using Numo. and before i get a reply from one of Numo developers saying “oh but a subscription to Numo is ____ less than an ADHD coach on average,” why do you think so many of us don’t seek out ADHD coaches? when you price Numo so highly it makes me feel as though Numo is trying to profit from my disability rather than help. if these changes are made i will happily edit my review to 5 stars, because otherwise i think Numo has some very useful features. also, just wanted to add that it’s very obvious that lots of the reviews are fake, which feels dishonest especially when creating an app to help individuals with ADHD.
So far it has been an acceptable tool for my ADHD. I like the checklist and there’s a community so I don’t feel as isolated and it’s happy and colorful.
There’s short lessons everyday that have great tips. The problem is, lessons are in a slideshow format and move too quickly for me to comprehend. I usually get distracted and have a hard time reading, so this is incredibly frustrating. There’s no way to pause the slideshow or go back if I missed a slide- I can only start from the beginning which is super inefficient. Sometimes I need to pause something and read through it a few times for the information to sink in. This definitely impacts the value of Numo for me. There’s also misspellings all over the place, which is strange. It’s a pretty expensive app, so the developers need to work these important details in order for me to subscribe.
too expensive… but I loved Numo . For my free trial week. 1 week. Really helped w insights into different ways of thinking. But the basic version is so much more
Limited I had to delete, it’s not even the same app. Im a college student and I have been struggling with assignments, due dates, procrastinating, you name it; especially the last semester.
Numo is good, but I can’t give it 5 stars, because it’s inaccessible to a lot of people, especially those that could benefit from it most, college students, young adults, etc.
it’s just entirely too expensive. $15 a month is quite insane.
But it’s a good app. The developers and the company overall should have a different mindset about ALLOWING and OPENING up their products and creation and services to more people that want access and could benefit from it. It should be more accessible. Cheaper price or discounts, or scholarship program, or more functionality and less limits on the basic version.
What’s the point of Numo, or any knowledge, art, insights, etc. if you can’t share it with others and don’t allow access to most people. Don’t let greed shroud what truly matters.
This is the first app that I’ve found that actually is helpful for my adhd. There is a subscription but none of the “essential” features are locked behind the paywall though. One thing I’d love to see implemented however, is a widget/watchface for Apple Watch. It would be amazing to glance down at my watch to see my next upcoming task without having to pull out my phone. I still highly recommend Numo!
This is a well designed app and the friend accountability aspect is nice. Unless I get nothing done. Lol There are a few tweaks that would make this great. Being able to easily edit and delete tasks would help, general timer would be great too. I’ve tried every adhd app, this is the best so far. The gamification is cool. Sub tasks is a MUST!!! Good job. Almost there. As I head to the shower I’m reminded about shower buddy who would talk you through tasks in the shower to keep you on track. Something like that would be great. Lastly the prioritization should be a series of pair wise comparisons to see which is most important or pressing. Used to be an app called “which thing first” that did this very well until updates.. ok 👍
I have ADHD & it’s been challenging as an adult with chronic health problems that exacerbate ADHD symptoms. this app is the first app so far to help me stay on track, or ar least remind me when I veer off of ir for more than a few days like other apps I tried! I’m going on about a week & it seems helpful! I’ve tried doing the same thing with other reminders apps, even Apple’s Reminders app but the layout & platform of this app just works better for making my brain WANT to use it! I’m not 100% sure why but I’m very grateful to use it for the last week & it’s helped me be about 80% consistent on my morning & night routines versus being so sporadic before, and maybe 50% consistent with the mid-day routine. But even that is showing me how much more distracted I get during certain hours of the day which is helpful & I didn’t fully realize how much until now! Thanks so much this app for providing this free app to help us be for functional as adults & feel better about how we tackled the day!!!!! Please keep Numo free! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤍🤍
Boomers beware bc this review will make your head spin, but if you’re ADHD/ASD you’ll understand exactly what I mean. I cannot force myself to do tasks that aren’t enjoyable. Numo has everything I’ve ever wanted and I’m only on day one; intuitive and eye catching graphics, helpful tips and strategies, a sense of community, and constant rewards for doing even the tiniest thing so my brain is motivated to keep going. My biggest issue has always been following through on tasks and I really think Numo has the lasting power to help me conquer that hurdle. Will update as I use more!
I struggle, as most people do, when they have ADHD. Even being on medication, my life still seems to be going in one thousand different directions. Numo has really helped me with my routines and schedules. I am also apart of this great community of individuals who can come together, from all over the world, to support, encourage and listen when times get tough. Plus, I love being able to learn more about my ADHD. I get tips on how to handle different situations and hacks to help me with life. I love Numo!!! Best thing to happen for my ADHD and I’m so glad that I stumbled upon it. 😍😍😍
I have major struggles with my adhd/cptsd. Numo has made it so easy to keep life on track. I slip up every now and then with it but it always reminds you when your going to loose your streak. Numo has sounds and rewards also that makes the user want to keep going. It’s completely free but you can also pay for it but the free was is just as amazing! Please if you have adhd or any kind of neurodivergence this is Numo to use. DON’T BE FOOLED BY OTHER ADHD APPS! Also ADHD is a super power don’t let others shame you for your super power
I have ADHD and struggle constantly with task management. I’ve tried lots of methods and apps, and nothing has really worked for me so far. A lot of the apps, even if they were fun at first, got to be a task in and of themselves, and the rewards for using Numo were low. Most of them are basically glorified to-do lists.
Numo is stimulating to look at, uses game-like wording and structure, has lots of mini-courses to help manage different parts of your life (with audio, text, and images that play through automatically - I didn’t zone out at all, which is saying something), forces you to set rewards for yourself for certain tasks, and uses peer support, which is super helpful.
While some of the information isn’t particularly new to me (I’ve read a lot about procrastination, for example), it’s phrased in this straightforward, no-nonsense way that still acknowledges the difficulty of some of these tasks, and it’s addressed specifically to ADHD problems, rather than just general organization issues. It’s incredibly refreshing.
Overall, it really feels like Numo was designed specifically for people with ADHD, as opposed to other apps, which feel like basic productivity helpers marketed toward ADHD-ers to take advantage of the demographic. If you have ADHD, really can’t recommend it enough.
Only day two, but I'm enjoying it so far. I already feel comfortable expressing myself and my emotions and thoughts. I know I won't be judged because Numo is full of people going through pretty much the same thing and they understand. It's nice. I also love the AI features on the task lists. Super helpful. Very smart to add something like that to an ADHD app 😹
Oh yeah and they know how to tickle that little reward need we thrive on as neurodivergents. Little things like custom app icons and different theme colors and all that really does help people like us for some reason. I guess any way to get that dopamine fix haha. We are essentially Pavlov's dog; do the thing, get a treat!
My only complaint so far is that there should be a notification tab or bell, sorta like Facebook and Instagram. Stuff will pop up in my push notifications but then I never find them again once I'm in Numo 😅 It also seems like kudos I was receiving wasn't registering on my profile, but maybe it's delayed.
I would also suggest maybe tabbed feeds. Like a Squad feed and then a main feed where you can see stuff outside of your squad, more so than the Hot section. I feel like some posts maybe go unnoticed there, but I'm not totally sure.
Numo is relatively new, so this is merely constructive criticism, as I know the devs are probably actively working on things so I am more than happy to wait things out.
Can't wait to see what other features are added in the future!
At first glance this looks overly simple... Especially when you compare it to all those amazing task apps out there (and I've tried every one of them.)
But I'm discovering that I may have ADHD and I have a history of setting up complex systems and discarding them ... From one app to another.
Part of it is that other apps don't really fit how I work or think. This does.
It's one list with easy capture that can be sorted quickly. It can be reorganized by you or AI. That's all I need to focus on what needs done.
It might be useful to be able to add events from our calendar as tasks, so we have a quick and clear view of our day and we can organize around events.
I also think the prioritization and tagging can be improved, but I like that there is no unnecessary AI stuff.
Most AI tools in task apps have no use for me.
I’ve been using this a bit over the month free trial period and for people with ADD or ADHD, PLEASE just invest in Numo. It has really changed so much of my perspective on ADD and ADHD and has taught me so much on how to manage my stresses, procrastination, emotions, etc. I am really grateful for the community Numo provides, as well as the helpful lessons and tools they provide. 15/10 app.
Wish I had this during college, but I’m a new graduate, so I’m glad I have Numo to help me figure out my life after college!
