Same energy as early Usenet
I’m new to the crypto punk scene. The app is easier to use than than I thought it would be. It feels pretty familiar compared with other social media apps. The content being posted is the real surprise. I don’t know when you started using the internet, but it’s changed over the decades. The people using this app are posting positive, informative stuff. It feels like Usenet before it was overwhelmed with binaries. People send me bitcoin to show appreciation for the stuff I post sometimes. I don’t have interest in any “cRyPtO”. I’ll take free bitcoin though!

A social network for the ages
Nostr is the protocol and Damus is the client. For a person to understand this app they should understand that Damus is not the social network; but rather the app that connects to it (nostr). Damus is the iOS client version and there are others as well, but this app might be one of the best clients out there right now. I’ve been using Damus for a while and I’m continuously impressed be William’s (developer) ability to shop update’s incredibly fast. He listens to users and implements ideas on the fly - truly incredible! My favorite feature is definitely the zaps! I use wallet of Satoshi to connect to Damus and able to zap sats quickly to anyone. The custom zap amounts are also super cool. Look forward to watching the protocol and the client shape up. Incredible work all around!

A total breath of fresh air in terms of social media. No mindlessly scrolling in hopes of unachievable engagements. Regardless of your followers or who you follow, you’re always going to get a genuine greeting. Not to mention there’s many people you are able to actually strike up a conversation with! 10/10 will be diverting my attention to an actual online community such as this.
