The new version goes beyond user-unfriendliness. It’s plain user-rudeness. Did the Product Owner ever use RMVgo ? Do the developers ever use it? Did they perform empathy maps to understand how users actually use such an app? Did they run analytics on the old version to see what people actually need? I’m app-savvy and had to navigate the GUI for minutes just to find how to perform basic tasks. Ever heard of “must have,” “should have,” and “can have” features? Who needs a map as a homepage? That’s what Google Maps is for. Why do I have to tap on a button to search for a train connection from A to B? Why do I have to scroll down after running a search to find out what time I have to leave the place I am in to catch my subway just because you though I’d want a map route at the top instead? ASK people what they want instead of assuming. The look is more modern, granted, but functionality comes first, dear Development Team. That’s why we have User Stories and other polling methods. What do we want? Schedules, connections (take this tram at this time, then change at this station to catch this other train at this time), and fast ticket purchases to pay for the service we’re using. Please, please, please improve it.

I had the original app which worked fine. I was able to purchase tickets easily before. Not now. Once this new app came out, nothing works properly. Every time I try to purchase a ticket it gives me an “error” message. Tried to re-register and still giving me an error message.

RMVgo is awful because it will not allow me to purchase tickets with a debit or a credit card. I have a PayPal account as well, but for some reason I cannot pay with it. RMVgo also says there is an option to pay as a guest, but that does not work either.

Frequently gives you incorrect departure information, logs you out and/or fails to load your ticket. No surprises, as RMV is the most unreliable train operator I’ve experienced in my life. I’d recommend using paper tickets instead, but the machines can also be unintuitive or confusing (sometimes stations have different names in RMVgo /google maps/ticket machine), or even broken, and I’ve seen a ticket hawk burn someone for having an incorrect ticket when they asked a local for help and thought they purchased the correct ticket. So good luck!

1. Randomly logs users out in the background, leaving them struggling to remember their login info when inspectors come to check your ticket.

2. Deutschland ticket will still charge you for the following month even if you cancel your subscription up to a half month in advance of the next billing period.

The updated app constantly gives me an error message that my account is not active when I try to purchase tickets. I’ve double checked everything online and it is all active. Then miracle of miracles it started working again for about 2 weeks. Now I’m back to error messages and unable to purchase tickets. I’ve tried deleting RMVgo , changing my payment methods, and restarting my phone. Nothing works.

It let me purchase my ticket and show proof to all train conductors and bus drivers. Unfortunately it doesn’t compete with Google Maps for selecting route combinations and step by step stops and changes along the way. RMV app said there was no way home for 12 hours, but Google Maps gave me a route that took me home on all RMV trains and buses in just 2 hours. Nice that it covers so many carriers. Please keep improving RMVgo. Test it. Use RMV, then Google Maps, then DB, etc.

As a tourist, I was happy to see RMVgo was translated until I realized they essentially only the titles and headers were done; the content, details, descriptions of ticket types are only in German. Also, when buying on the terminals in station, you don’t need to specify origin / destination (which is very hard to deduce to/from airport) but RMVgo makes it mandatory. Very very strange…

Constantly have to re input information and can’t purchase tickets early. Have to wait until just before the bus arrives. Doesn’t allow for planning trips a day or evens hours ahead.

RMVgo works most of the time, kind of - it’s not especially intuitive or smooth, but I definitely appreciate that it’s available in English!

I thoroughly enjoy using the bus system. RMVgo, once you get used to making it work for you; is crucial to planning (& not having to remember) your bus routes. A must have for anyone that uses the bus on a regular basis. A highlight is how it ties in with the local train schedule to provide plenty of options.

Die App funktioniert relativ gut, aber bis jetzt habe ich noch nicht herausgefunden, wie ich die Geschwindigkeit als Fussgaenger und die maximale Gehentfernung euinstellen kann.

Huge improvement over the old app. Today the real time info for busses in Bad Soden was also working.

This for sure paid off! What an excellent App! Buy the regional ticket early enough so you can cancel by the 10 th of the month to save being billed!

I used RMVgo to buy the €49 Deutsche Pass without having to go through all of the hassles of buying it normally. As others said you do have to make an account but it’s honestly no harder than making one anywhere else. Once my account was made it was really easy to buy the ticket. I saw in the reviews that people were complaining their ticket wasn’t showing up when they needed it for the train conductor- this hasn’t been an issue for me. I’ll still use the DB app as a navigator because it is a bit easier to use, but if you’re looking to buy the ticket I recommend RMVgo.
