MapGenie: Elden Ring Map Reviews

I don’t normally write reviews, but there are a lot of bad elden ring maps and trackers out there. This is not one of them.

I found the browser version of MapGenie after growing tired of a certain other popular elden ring map… It didn’t scale with markers, and locations were not very accurate.

This map is perfect. Whoever works as this app is doing a great job. Personally, I paid the $5 for full access within an hour of using the browser version. It’s just that good. I normally don’t even use maps or trackers for games, but elden ring is much more fun with it in my opinion.

There are a couple reasons I feel this project doesn’t yet deserve 5 stars:
1. The UI - it’s a bit too simple and unrefined looking. minimal is good, but i feel it’s a little clunky to navigate in menus etc.
2. Item / Boss info. - Drops are usually all that is mentioned for bosses. Items only have their specific location described. I think it would be really great to have info like weakness, effects, etc. included— even if it means paying to unlock it. Having an all-in-one app would be amazing. I could see it being really successful.

As long as you understand what you’re getting: a detailed map, precise locations, tons of filters, checklists, and the ability to leave notes, you’ll be very pleased. This is not an encyclopedia for elden ring.

- opening sidebar by swiping from left also moves the map (it shouldnt)
- zooming in and out loads new tiles but their default background is white so it is like a strobe light and hurts my eyes
- ui is quite unrefined as mentioned by another reviewer

This is hands down the highest quality ER Map. It has a smooth interface with all the filters needed to view and hide objects. The best part is when you tap and item, it pops up all the information about said item as well as links to what the item is related to. For example, clicking an NPC will bring up their info and all the links to their relation within the world (quests, moved locations, etc). It will also auto unhide items related to these links for easy viewing.

The issue is, this map works half he time. Sometimes the map just shows white and there’s no way to fix or refresh it. You can close and reopen the map 100x and it’ll just be white-out until it decides to load, which you have no clue of. I’d say this map works HALF the time. I have a backup app I use and honestly have started using it near exclusively despite how clunky it is, just because it at least WORKS. Please look into this issue and fix it, then you will get 5 stars.

Great map! In fact I gave it 4 stars. However, one tiny thing I wish it had was the ability to make found locations more visible on the map after you’ve found them. As it stands, the found locations are largely invisible unless you really zoom in to find them and some may prefer that, but I don’t. I’d like to see a setting where you can change how visible your found locations are. This being said, its a very well done map and the ability to add notes is great. He’s part is, unlike other map apps it’s a one-time payment and not a subscription which I like. Give me that setting and this will be a flawless map!

The map is accurate, the free version is certainly useable, and the paid version is even better (no ads and unlimited collection/location tracking). Perhaps my only complaint is that it does not remember which locations/items you chose to hide from the map so every time you close and re open MapGenie the map is crowded with a crazy amount of markers again. Please implement map memory so that items/locations that are toggled off stay off.

This is the easiest map to navigate, by far. It might not come with strategies and guided like the other map apps, but that’s what the internet is for. Everything is available for free upfront, but it’s a one-time payment to unlock unlimited progress tracking. All-in-all, this is by far the most organized, easiest, and best Elden Ring map app I’ve seen.

MapGenie is a must have. I recommend paying for it so you can mark more than 100 locations as found. If you buy it from map genies website you can get it for $5 instead of the $7 from MapGenie Store.

Are there any way to remove the note blips on the map, and also is there any way we can reset the items we’ve already found?

I’m want to start a new play through, but I’ll have to uncheck all of the items and weapons etc. manually found and that’s a bummer.

This helps because of how big of a map and there are so many crevices and things you can miss and MapGenie helps with that it is just an all around great map

Simply put, I think this map is a great tool when playing Elden Ring. Well worth the price.
It has enabled me to find ant track items places etc without spoiling the game.

First off, there's two prices. If you purchase the pro version on desktop, it's $5, but if you purchase through apple appstore, it's $7. Kind of annoying.
Second, I paid for pro after it said I can track as much in as many categories as I want, but no matter what I click as "found," the next time I reload on desktop or mobile, none of my finds will be saved, leaving my map a cluttered mess again. Takes an hour just to manually go through and remark everything, only to lose those changes later anyways.

Something like this is supposed to save time and help me remember what dungeons I've cleared... not add prep time just to see what I've been doing.

You can tell that the person or group of people that made this put a lot of time and attention into it it’s great and extremely helpful!!!

I paid for the Pro version and gave been pretty happy with this and other this app apps. I guess I just expected that the Pro version could work offline? Nope. MapGenie just throws up an error and doesn’t work.

Please make MapGenie work offline. I’d happy pay for that!

MapGenie is soooo helpful but all of a sudden it keeps telling me it failed to mark off something when I found it. It only just started happening like a week ago and nothing I do will make it work. Please do an update

So when I first got MapGenie it was working fine but now everytime I try to mark something as done/found it say “can not mark as found” I’ve try waiting a lil then deleting MapGenie but noting works idk what to do

I downloaded it so wouldn’t have use my browser anymore. But turn out it’s got more features on the apps. Might jus have to get the no adsVersion. Just an awesome app!!!

I just downloaded MapGenie . When I open MapGenie , the map is completely blank white with all the waypoints overlay. But the most important part the actual Elden Ring map is not showing up at all. I updated my iPad software to the latest and tried redownloading MapGenie multiple times but still the same result. This is not useful.

Show all points of interest - BUT - no background - so useless. I found if you login to this app on your browser - doesn’t have that problem. App needs help for iOS.

Looks and feels nice. but it suddenly won’t let me tag things as found anymore. it just says “failed to mark location”. please look into!

This map is extremely useful and i can appreciate the time that obviously went into this. I have a question for dev: I’m currently in the process of defeating all of the bosses but so far MapGenie seems to only allow me to have a maximum of I would say 80 items selected or marked as “Found” at one time. Is there a fix for this? Thanks

Great app. Used it through my entire first playthrough. I just wish there was a way I could reset my progress in MapGenie since I started a new playthrough with a brand new character and want to use it again. Otherwise it’s great

A pin-point accurate map depiction of where everything is in the game. Must-have if you’re going for that play or even if you’re just casually playing and want to check out what’s in your vicinity. Very useful even if you’re just looking to find every grace.

I do wish it could save a configuration so I didn’t have to click through all the things I don’t want to see every time, As well as a checklist of things you’ve already gotten :)

It looks nice and shows everything fairly accurately however it won’t let me mark anything as found unless I relogin to my account every single time I use so three stars… Hopefully it gets fixed

This map is nice and it shows everything that can be found on elder ring however one issue that I have is when I click to see more information on a certain item or place the maps moves by it self I have to move the map every time I click something to see its location and read it’s description which is rather annoying I don’t know if it’s a bug or something but hope you can fix that if you can.
