MapGenie: Tarkov Map Reviews

I like MapGenie a lot. It’s very helpful for finding things like keys and stashes but one of the most important things for new players to know is extracts and when having extracts enabled the text is too large and they overlap with other spawns/extracts making it impossible to understand. So even though I have the extracts memorized it makes it impossible for me to recommend MapGenie to new players who’s main concern is finding extracts in they’re raids. Overall great app but definitely needs improvements. Would suggest just using a symbol and small label that’s just large enough to read and understand when looking at the full size of the map.

I used this map to learn woods and factory (the old woods and those were the only maps my computer can handle) and it helped me a lot. MapGenie helped me get my way around and find loot where I didn’t know it was there. It’s a great app but the new woods expansion just came out and it’s been 4 days. Don’t you think an app that is all about map data would update a map in maybe a day or two? I know it hasn’t been long since the new map came out, but it’s just an idea to use against MapGenie. I’m not saying it’s bad but it could be worked on a bit more.

MapGenie alone encouraged me to finally actually learn wood ( I heavily disliked it) which finally led to me finishing jaeger tasks. Not only that but it made me fall in love with shoreline now that I know all the stashes,spawns,hot zone and high value loot spawn thank to the helpful markers that show where loot spawn. I heavily recommend MapGenie regardless of whether you are a new or veteran player

Been playing for almost 4 years now, this is the best map tool I’ve come across, so good I paid for the lifetime access. Worth every penny compared to others though the wiki is very good. I normally use the web version but now I can use it on my iPad, very cool. The fact there is a one and done payment option as well is even more excellent.

I use MapGenie for every raid I play. I really love being able to see everything I want on the map.

Will we be able to drop pins in MapGenie at some point? Also, it would be cool to be able to have a communal map where a team can add pins for call outs and whatnot.

App works great! One thing tho. Turns out that since the compass was added that the Customs and Shoreline maps are actually upside down. In game too but might be useful to flip them or add functionality to flip maps if someone wants to use the compass in conjunction with the map.

I like the idea of having a map, but on my phone if I move the map, like zoom in or out the map has to reload and that takes a bit. I have an iPhone 11 Pro so idk if it’s just my phone or if that’s how it is for any phone. But I would have figured that since it got downloaded it wouldn’t need to load every time but I guess not.

If you are a new player like me, this is a life saver(figuratively,and ingame). Though, It doesn’t show you some of the amazing loot spots, it shows most of them. Maps are clear and have notes to describe locations.

A great app, especially for someone like me who’s new at the game and needs a little help getting around the different areas. Amazing job!

MapGenie would be 5/5 if it was updated with the latest map changes. MapGenie is also a little buggy if you zoom out too far then you can’t see anything. I hope to be able to edit this review once they update woods to include the expansion.

MapGenie is usefull for studying only but not as a companion app to be used in a pinch, the map function needs customizable text size a opacity since the captions block out the entire map. Also the zoom in/out lags too much, so not useful when seconds matter in game

This has the best maps for Tarkov and It has helped me so much in raid. Good for new players learning the game like me

Also when is the new map for woods coming out

MapGenie has made life so much easier it tells you EXACTLY where everything is it couldent be any clearer about where to go 10/10

Great for when you have no clue where extract is... or you’re playing interchange.

Would be much easier to use if maps were rotatable

This is a great app for English speaking Tarkov players as well as some others I believe it supports. Still amazing!!

Where’s the woods expansion? Other than that, no problems

The ads take us so much of my screen that it’s difficult to use this map while in game.

Works exactly how it’s intended and is simple to use.
