I was one of four that attended the Richmond event on September 28. We all have iPhones, downloaded MichelangelosSistineChapel , connected to the suggested local Wi-Fi at the event. Initially, MichelangelosSistineChapel worked, scanned the QR code, the appropriate painting was displayed and audio worked. This lasted for the first 8 to 10 paintings.
And then, none of our phones could do you anything. MichelangelosSistineChapel either locked, MichelangelosSistineChapel played the wrong audio for the painting, or the audio would not play at all. We tried both Wi-Fi that were available from site, this did not help. Rebooted MichelangelosSistineChapel , re-download it. Did not help.
The overall issue with MichelangelosSistineChapel was very frustrating. It took away from the enjoyment of the paintings, especially as we continued to try to see if MichelangelosSistineChapel would work, since it did seem to have additional information that was not provided by the text descriptions.
It would been better off that MichelangelosSistineChapel was not available, and we just went through the exhibits, reading the provided descriptions. We were still able to enjoy the exhibit, but frustrated that MichelangelosSistineChapel did not work for us, where it did work for others (but very few).
Not knowing the technical aspects of Wi-Fi, but it was clear that it was not strong enough, and did not anticipate or provide for the number of users.
This seems that it could have easily been rectified if there was a serious commitment to supporting MichelangelosSistineChapel . The on-site staff attempted to help, but ultimately could provide no assistance.
