When NIKKE has a better story than you…

I don’t know how else to put it, NIKKE isn’t a world class amazing story, but it’s 10x more engaging, has better characters, design, and music. The other issue is NIKKE also has better, *ahem* art assets. So you’re kinda failing on both fronts there. Re: Unfortunately fixing these problems would require a massive overhaul of the game as a whole. The game itself is fine. It’s got good art and the music isn’t grating. The problem is, it’s one of a million other gacha games, but it also has a very restrictive amount of characters. There’s 2, count em. TWO assassin characters, and like 5 guardians. This somewhat leads me to believe there was some break down in terms of developing more, OR, considering you already have a new limited time banner up, you had more characters and gutted the game of its characters in order to sell them later on on limited platforms. You also need to take a look at monetization. A game like Genshin impact can get away with charging a hundred dollars for a CHANCE at getting a cool new character, because that new character can change the ENTIRE gameplay experience. A new character in this game is new voice lines and maybe higher numbers popping up on screen after those voice lines are yelled.

Also the more you keep removing my rating the more I’ll keep coming back and reinstating it.

Good, except for one thing.

Personally, I like the simplicity of the gameplay. Although most of it is done for you, it is still engaging to try different team comps and using their skills to your will if you’re not auto battling.
The characters are also very well designed, animations are pretty smooth, and the voice acting is decent to say the least.

Now, the one thing I don’t like too much is the story. I was intrigued with the premise at the beginning, but then it just kinda goes downhill from there. The story isn’t anything to write home about, not really engaging. I found myself skipping most of the cutscenes after a few lines of dialogue.
This isn’t the first game I’ve played games where the everything but the story is good. I’ve played some such as Alice Fiction, ML Adventure, and others, and I still do despite the stories not being at all intriguing. But other than that, I think this game is pretty solid and I would recommend it if you don’t care too much about story or if you just want something with some decent gameplay.

Good game besides some issues

So far i’ve been having a lot of fun and it gets more addicting as i play! However there are some things that bother me, one of the most annoying issues is the energy consumption to play (eitr). It’s takes a lot of energy to play and it’s especially difficult when trying to farm for materials to level up characters. Let’s say it takes 25 eitr to farm for 2 materials, when your max eitr is capped around 125 it only allows you to play 5 times and then you have to wait again for it to increase to continue cleansing or the main story. It also takes an absurd amount of time to fully reset to the full amount of eitr. Although you can recharge using the eitr refills, i still find it really difficult to get ahold of those. I hope this can be fixed a little in the future and considering it’s still in its early stages i’m not too bothered. So far it’s been a really fun game and i’m enjoying it a lot! i look forward to what it has to offer in the future

Great potential, but waiting for it to get better.

Visually it’s the best mobile game out there. It’s not as expansive as other behemoths of gacha alternatives since it’s lacking an open world or any active explorative element, but the combat system is so refreshing, simple and fun to play on mobile that it makes up for it. Furthermore, the character designs and animations are brilliant and well thought out.

That being said, the story overall is very very lacking. It has the makings of something really interesting, but you can tell that it wasn’t as prioritized as some other aspects of the game. Their current character event surrounding the limited character Sirslet is actually pretty good and is fleshing out the character nicely, so its surprising that the main story feels so hollow by comparison.

There are the typical gacha pitfalls like the common characters being near unplayable to incentivize pulling for SSR’s, and stamina limitations creating artificial spacings in progression, but these are sort of unavoidable of the genre.

I think that if the story is given more love and attention this game could really make for something special. Though the protagonist being a shell of a character doesn’t bode well for any real impact down the line.

It’s worth trying out but don’t expect anything groundbreaking from a story standpoint, at least not anytime soon.

PLS READ! Real review 🙄

I never normally write reviews but I think this game is pretty decent, I love that its f2p friendly and you have a english voice option. I think most people are being too hard on this game, it just came out and still needs a lot of fixing. A lot of these reviews are complaining about it not being able to play and I don’t think a lot of you can read that it was a pre-download LOL. Personally I did not have any issues when playing the game, maybe thats not for everyone.
The cutscenes are amazing which took me by surprise and the characters ULT animations are amazing! Right after you get more into it you don’t wanna get off, it’s a nice side game for when your bored.
I honestly say give it a try and stop criticizing it so much, i’ve played a lot of RPG games and it’s normally hard for me to like them. This one is not the most worst one i’ve played.

Great game with a few issues

In all honesty, it’s a great game with really good execution. Fun challenges, mechanics, and a really forgiving pity system when it comes to pulling for characters or plays. Other than that, it does have some flaws (but these could just be my opinion). For example, when you try to adapt a play if you decide not to apply a certain adaptation, when you exit put of the adapt field you will lose that certain adaptation forever. Sadly happened to me with a really nice five star adaptation that I decided would be better for a different character, oh well.

Meh

This game tried really hard to be Genshin and they didn’t get away with it. The MC is faceless which is terrible. Lacks inclusiveness, I mean, even an option with the MC being exactly the same except female would be better. You don’t care about him or any of the characters you meet and play with. And everyone is in love with him for some reason? The story is honestly really boring too. :/ They also immediately drop a limited time SSR banner days into the game. It just feels like a giant cash grab.

Also, you can easily finish all your tasks in like 15 minutes and there’s nothing else to do until tomorrow. There’s not a lot of content.

There are too little characters and very uneven distribution between classes. It’s like they already had all the characters drawn up and they removed a bunch to sell more banners. And the 1 dollar SSR Fene seems like such a steal that everyone bought it which seems like you killed everyone for cash.

You guys need to read more carefully

Good game. With great graphics and interesting characters. Know that most of these 1 star reviews are unjustified; if you scroll through them you’ll basically see people talking about how they couldn’t get into the servers when they pre-ordered. This is because the game released apr 6th but was downloaded early (automatically) a few days earlier. But “apr 6th” was stated since the beginning of the pre order. It got downloaded early for me too, and I was suprised cause I literally remember it saying “apr 6th” so when the servers didnt work I assumed that to be the logical reason of “oh, itll on apr 6th like they said”. Yall need to learn to look for key details, because ik when you went to write your petty 1 star review; Higan wouldve literally been stating “Coming Apr 6th” on Higan store 🤦‍♂️

Worth a look.

I’ve played a few Gatcha games and 80% of them I’ll play for about an hour and forget about it. This one got me intrigued with the early story. I like that you can pseudo interact with characters in game. It’s easy to learn how to play although the navigating of new unlocked areas is still a bit confusing at first. I still don’t know how to unlock the texting story for characters. It’s just some are and some isn’t. The energy depletion is standard for these type games. But the power levels jump dramatically high in some places ending progression until u can somehow gather the materials needed to level up to break that wall only to run into another one immediately thereafter. Unless ur willing to dump some $ for energy and or items to level skills your play time will be limited. It’s not a game u can spend hours on. Just a short break from life.

Money grab

1. Global launch was like 4 days ago. They've already introduced a limited banner with event stages that require you to have progressed a lot in the main game. Only those that got in during soft launch or have not stopped playing during the las 4 days will be able to even try and participate in the event.
2. Barely any summon currency. Up till now, there are no stable sources of summoning currency apart from buying or from dev mail which will end once global launch celebration is over .
3. Rates and pity aren't that great. Takes a lot of currency to summon, and as I said, there is no stable income. It takes 120 pulls for a pity. For global launch, there hasnt been enough time to gather that amount unless youve spent money.
4. Clearly feels like a money grab game launched between Nikke and Honkai.
They offer you an ssr character for 1$ a few missions after you begin. If 500k people actually downloaded and played the game, and spent that 1$ then theyve already made $500k easily. Everything else in the shop is way overpriced. To me, all this just seems to indicate that the 1$ ssr was part of the plan. Rake in some easy money with cheap offers.

Overall, Id suggest playing it, enjoy its combat and characters, which are the only good things about it, and try not to spend much money on it. Wait for whatever other gacha you’re interested in.

Giant disappointment

I waited months for this game to come expected a beautiful Gacha game with both a compelling story and characters so I was quite surprised when I open the game to see all kinds of “hot anime Waifu” bait and it’s disappointing all the characters are limited to their archetypes and aren’t actually interesting and another problem THEYRE ALL OBSESSED WITH THE MC?? Now we see the mc is faceless but they make sure to let you know he’s a man which makes me feel that this game isn’t just targeted towards men but anyone can see themselves in the game but is made only for Waifu loving anime weebs to enjoy which isn’t really all too fair for the women or people of other genders in the audience but back to the characters their personality are frankly boring and so are their designs, they all have the same base of a generic anime girl even the women that are clearly supposed to be stronger are still skinny and fragile, overall this game is a Disappointment

TLDR; Don’t play this game if you want cool unique characters.

Updating review

They don’t like you rerolling and no guest account. Also they don’t allow you to link multiple saves like if I want to link Apple and my email or Twitter. Looks like a good game except for that. Better games yet to come soon this month like honkai star rail. I can give a star for game being dubbed, but easily minus 3 for no multiple save, the pay to win shop that you have to buy the weekly/monthly pass for 20 dollars plus then you have to spend mostly cash again to buy items from the shop after buying pass, then finally it’s a game that a bit confusing and people will get bored after a short time. Also they have skins you can buy for 20 dollars, another pass. Pulling a Nikki/ Pokémon unite strategy on pricing. In all, not a bad game, just a game that won’t likely keep player base like genshin/epic seven/ fgo etc…

Wasted Potential

Game is beautiful story is interesting and combat is smooth with a unique experience however.. The year is 2023 and I’m completely disappointed that you cannot play with mobile 5G network which makes this game absolutely wasted potential my life takes me all over and I can’t stay connected to a steady WiFi network all the time so therefore I can’t play this game consistently. Still worth it to try it out but I don’t see it working out in the long run Tower of Fantasy has this same issue and I’m absolutely disgusted that such beautiful games can only be played via WiFi. Fix the issue and I would be happy to rate this game 5 stars until then it’s just going to sit on my phone for a few weeks till I delete and play Star Rail. Cheers.

Extremely bland

This game looked really good, I’ve been playing since day one and I can say there is nothing special about it at all. The game is extremely bland and boring it took all the stuff everyone hated from other gachas and made them even more tedious ex: the labyrinth in this game takes at least 30 minutes to complete which is terrible when it’s not fun to begin with. On top of the issues with gameplay the characters aren’t all that great either higher rarity characters are supposed to look better than lower rarity but they’ve all just been boring so far.
This game has all the same issues their other gacha has had since it released the company doesn’t really care and just wants your money honestly I’d just avoid this there’s far better gacha games out there.

Must play

Thought it was time for a review.
I have been playing daily since release.

* good*One of the things I seen in this game not in others is when upgrading your characters it will take you to
The event or level or your inventory if you have it
When your missing a upgrade material.

*Bad* the labyrinth is dull and not fun it’s really just a chore. This function is not needed because the tower is very similar. Or there just needs to be a
Option to stream line or skip.

*Bad* it only shows you a red dot on top of the character if you can ascend. It does not mark them
For upgrading or upgrading plays. Speaking of plays there needs to be a auto or function that explains which play is better for each character.

*Good*
Battle animation good character design.

I do suggest to anyone that has played games
Like epic seven or fate grand order.

Good game just needs fixes to keep player
Longevity.

My honest review :)

Could be improved

This is a card based game where you pull for character cards and use them in battle to progress the story. The game seems interesting enough to keep on playing, but problems keep on appearing that prevent me from giving a higher rating. It appears as more in development than a final game.

1) Even with the audio and subtitles both in English they don’t always match up

2) Sometimes the story line seems a bit off like I am missing a bit of information, but you can still understand what is going on

3) Even if you purchase the small micro transaction pop-ups it doesn’t remove them, you can’t buy them again, but the notifications don’t leave

4) I had it crash durning a purchase where money was taken but I didn’t get the top up
(hopefully contacting customer service goes well waiting on an email receipt so I have proof of purchase)

I am still interested in seeing where this game goes, so I’ll try playing a little longer to see if it gets better

Great game

Beautiful game where Genshin meets dyslyte. I’m not a fan of these style games but the story comes with a skip and speed up option and the levels don’t require leaving the area and reloading. It’s unfortunate that one must pick the select few champs to level up but the pool is small right now and could easily get them all up quickly. Everything is straight forward, there’s plenty of opportunities to earn gacha pulls, most micro transactions are shoved in your face. I 4 starred because these games aren’t my cup of tea but if you enjoy turn based gacha this is a great pick up

Great game but having an issue

The game is great, combat is decent and the characters look nice. Only issue I have encountered is when I have trophy points, when I click the button for trophy points the game stops working won’t let me click anything I have to close Higan and reload the game. Please fix this it’s annoying to have a notification and not be able to do anything about it thank you.

(Good game) not a bot 👍 👨🏼‍🎨

It’s a great game in my opinion and I hate seeing it get so much hate and I can’t imagine spending time on a game and then getting it downvoted and compared to other games (in a bad way)

Gameplay:
Graphics are beautiful and they run well, I just ask can you add a even higher quality mode (like ultra high) cuz I know my phone can handle it and i love high quality content.

Character:
Art style is good and I like it, don’t care what others say I like the game.

Honestly I’ll probably play this more than epic 7

I hope the developers see this and I have a question why do we need internet, is it just to connect to summons and the shop?

Just in case you have nothing to do with the game now um something to update are the captions during the story sometimes they don’t match up with the characters speech (pls add higher quality and resolution 🥺).

It’s great but..

I played for a little bit, and design wise the characters are great, story wise, not so much, the story feels all over the place and the pacing is very weird. Other than that, the gameplay is solid and engaging, but very basic compared to other aspects of the game. This is great and all, but for some reason i’ve been getting a connection error and haven’t been able to log into the game since, I know for certain that it isn’t my internets fault, so it has to be the game itself, which is a shame, I was really enjoying the game despite my complaints, and hopefully that issue will br resolved soon.

I want to like this game more.

First let me start by saying that I do like this game, but from what I’ve played so far it feels like it’s missing something that I can’t quite figure out. The story feels…lackluster, I guess I would say. It feels like it’s trying to be a good story, but it’s very basic. I’ve gotten to halfway through Chapter 3 and the subtitles have started to not match what is being voiced by characters - not a big issue, but slightly annoying. I have not experienced past the 3rd chapter as I’m writing this. There’s a lot in this game and it feels like there is not enough energy (I forget what they call it in game) to do most of it. I find myself auto-battling through mostly the money and level up material levels so far. The combat is fun and feels unique. I like how the characters look, the chats with characters on the other hand feel very boring. It’s been pretty f2p friendly, but I expect that to slow down throughout the game like most gachas. Overall, I’d recommend checking it if you’re thinking about it. I'm excited to see where this game goes and how it improves.

So so — nothing amazing

Story is horrible, could not follow what was happening or make sense of things. Char design are original and decent. Gacha rates are actually fair; was able to pull most banner units in first gold pull. F2P friendly and gives good amount of currency. If you can’t manage your currency properly, not developer’s fault.

Aside from that, game is simply a PvP game. You are basically lvling your units to compete with whales. This game is NOT long term for F2P, tbh. I don’t know why I am still logging on; maybe because I still have currency (13k) to pull. After I run dry, don’t see a reason to keep playing.
