I can’t even type. Literally will press send and it doesn’t send my message. Just like a no register. Spam it and it says “error message could not be delivered” etc, then reattempting to connect to chat cycle over and over again. I don’t know why. I deleted, redownloaded, logged out. Seperate account. Still won’t let me message. It just doesn’t even send the message. Then if you hit it so many times it says error as if it’s attempting to spam the chat yet it doesn’t, it’s all fail spam. How do you even fix this? Why is this happening?

It plays video, and you get emotes, but there are some missing features that make it impractical.

When I’m watching a stream on my phone I’m usually walking around, and Frosty doesn’t really support playing in the background, like while your phone is locked.

Even when you’re watching a stream in the foreground though, you can’t go back and look for another stream with the stream you’re watching in pip mode, and pip doesn’t automatically activate when you browse away from Frosty . It just doesn’t feel good to use.

Following channels, automatic pip, ability to use channel points and participate in votes, ability to views past vods, choose resolution. Oh and I hate when I'm looking at a stream and I want to see who else is streaming while listening, it automatically closes the stream I'm watching.

I love Frosty and use it every day. I especially like the ability to see all of the emotes in chat.

What I don’t like is that locking your phone or swiping up from the home screen stops the video feed. Additionally, when you return to Frosty , sometimes the video player won’t load and you have to reload the streamer you were watching. Other than these issues, I am very happy.

Most features are great but some stand out issues for me make it uncomfortable to use.

Unable to slide to home for the floating player to activate. The button must be used every time

Every so often, the player bugs out and rolls back a few seconds on the stream and replays something that occurred in the live stream. Not too sure what is happening or the cause but that's my closest approximation to describing the issue.

This is almost the perfect replacement app for Twitch, however, it’s missing a few things that are dealbreakers for me. Firstly, it’s missing the ability to collect channel points. Second, Frosty doesn’t automatically switch to playing in the background if minimized or if another app is opened. Last but not least, it doesn’t look like it can follow a raid to another channel. Oh, and unfortunately there isn’t an AppleTV app either.

I really want to stop using the official app in favor of this one but for now, I’ll have to stick with it. I hope the dev is continuing work on this fantastic app, though. The integration with bttv and 7tv emotes is great.

Frosty is alright and definitely less frustrating than Twitch. Please make the random ads when you forget to go picture to picture mode stop please. That’s hands down the worst part of Frosty . It stopping the audio then starting an ad is not necessary.

Amazing app, just wish it had an easier interface when it comes to replying to someone/a specific message and I would give this 10/10 stars if I could IF it had the quick switch between Chat only, video only, chat+video. Other than that, I really enjoy Frosty .

I was looking for a chat replacement for twitch, and this does a pretty good job, but it doesn't show any redeems, such as highlighted messages and other channel point redeem notifications.

Using Frosty with video disabled, while the official twitch app pop out video sits over top of it, is a much better experience than just the official twitch app by itself, except for the lack of redeem notifications.

I can’t spam the same thing even though other viewers with a pc and have the extensions installed can. I know this because I watch xqc and I see chatters doing this. But this is a glorious app

I absolutely love Frosty layout and how most things work its just the delay… i get mobile has more delay than desktop but on the twitch app its no where near this bad. I want to see chat and the streamer reacting in real time and Frosty doesnt give me that, its a good 10 second delay no matter the stream also you cant change the quality of the stream. like i said great app just needs to fix those couple things and it would FLAWLESS!

I’ve been using Frosty for months and love it. Recently though something has broke and twitch subscriptions emotes do not show at all. I expect this error with 7tv emotes since they keep breaking even on the twitch site. But not for sub emotes. Hopefully this is fixed soon since Frosty allows you to reply to chat threads unlike chatsen. It would also be nice if we could have multiple channels chats like chatsen, especially if you don’t use the video player on Frosty

Love Frosty, would love to use it a bit more though. My only complaint is that when chatting, sometimes chat messages are very delayed or wont send at all. Sometimes it will send multiple messages at one time. Other then that love it

I'm very satisfied with how Frosty is turning out and how it accomplishes filling in the gaps of the original twitch app.

The UI and emote integration are almost as perfect as you can get and I especially love the customization for the chat side bar. Frosty is what mobile twitch should be.

The biggest caveat/downside however is the stream delay, which obviously probably comes down to twitch's api. For a livestream experience, it's obviously not ideal but the chat delay workaround feature is pretty adequate in making up for it. Unfortunately, I can't rate 5 stars currently as this is pretty significant for watching/interacting with the stream.

There's also some other features missing such as channel points and notifications but again, some of these features rely on twitch's api so it's understandable.

Otherwise, Frosty is glorious for what it achieves and if you don't care about participating in chat due to stream delay, it's perfect for just watching.

Highly recommend.

Also, an option to adjust the width of the filled notch side option would be cool as it's larger than it needs to be.

Best app for reading chat on Twitch. However I didn’t like the last update because it takes 3x longer to copy. Just long pressing was very easy. Another bug is when chat is moving really fast, your message won’t send. You have to try multiple times in order for it to send.

Can you make one for Kick? If so I would use it.

This is so incredibly close to being a full switch for me, unfortunately there’s some quirks that still prevent me from using Frosty full time. There is no low latency mode, no way to use channel points, and pip isn’t automatic. Everything else is so well implemented though, keep up the development!

I’d personally use Frosty over the Twitch mobile app if it had low latency mode. Having an average of 12 seconds delay from you to the streamer that you’re watching kinda doesn’t make using Frosty worth it in my opinion.

Everything is perfect just missing the whispers & just a bit of fixes it’s a little bit laggy when I try to send messages in chat at times other then that emotes , the setup is good

Incredible app, the only negative on my part is I don’t feel comfortable logging on with my Twitch email and password to be able to type in chat from Frosty . Otherwise it would be 5 stars from me

Very good app for being able to see and use the different emotes available on the different third party emote sites that streamers use. Loses a star for me for not having the ability to change the video resolution (I live in a very rural area with slow Internet) but otherwise a near perfect app.

Hi, Frosty was a 5 stars for me until the sleep timer was removed. Please bring it back! It was a feature I really loved as I like to watch streams late at night but don’t want my phone to stay on. Bringing this feature back would be much appreciated!

IOS user here, this app is actually better than twitch in most ways. Only thing I wish could change would be the mini-player. I like to tab out and go on other apps while I watch my favorite streamers and I can’t figure out if its just not a feature on this app or im doing something wrong. Other than that, amazing app and great job👍

I really like Frosty, it makes the video UI much better than Twitch’s native player. However, I wish there was automatic pop out video player when you swipe out of Frosty , just like the Twitch mobile app has. Also, if you made it possible to watch VODs/past livestreams that would make Frosty perfect. I hope you can add this feature, would definitely give 5 stars then! All in all great app, no major bugs, good UI, but missing some key features.

I absolutely love Frosty, the UI is just better overall compared to the official Twitch app. There are few things that could be improved though, like the delay of the streams. The Twitch app has a little bit of a delay yet it’s almost unnoticeable, but Frosty’s streams are always about 3-5 seconds behind l the chat and kinda defeats the whole purpose of me getting Frosty lol. Also it would be cool to be able to participate in predictions from the this app app. Love that Frosty even exists, I appreciate the developers so much for it!!

When using Frosty do you count as a viewer towards the streamer you are watching? If so Frosty is 10/10 if not then dang

Would be perfect if there was the ability to visit someone’s channel in-app and watch clips / vods. I tried poking around and it looks like there is no support for that (yet?).

I had a mod from my favorite streamer suggest Frosty after a string of people were(rightfully) complaining about the recent Twitch Mobile updates. I use an Ipad with keyboard case, so I wasn't experiencing those issues BUT I've always hated how the chat, when in use, takes up half the screen which makes the video so small in comparision. With this app, I was able to adjust the size of chat, the font, what messages are highlighted, and can see the other extension emotes now! It's so much better! The only few things I have to say about it is not being able to see pinned messages, channel points, the text bar not staying active if I hit enter on my keyboard and not the send icon, and not being able to see when my resub hits. But I literally love the viewing so much better that those are things I'm fine without for now! I suggest it all the time now to anyone who complains about Twitch Mobile!

Overall looks good, But it needs a option for video quality customization

Frosty is quite good and I like it a lot, but the problem is that I need to see the reuploaded live streams many times and so I can't do it with Frosty . I would like it to be implemented to be able to see the reuploaded live streams and see the chat with the emotes and everything

Thank god for a logical format. Usually had Frosty as a back up but is my main twitch app rn. Super cool accessing the other emotes from other services as well that are usually unavailable on mobile. Overall works well, and doesnt seem to affect battery life all too different from official app. Some limitations compared to the official app, but understandable since they have restrictions with the API. Otherwise please keep it up!

This most recent update fixed all the issues I had with Frosty since downloading it a couple months ago. Now, I don’t think I have anything negative to say about Frosty at all. It now has all the good features of other Twitch apps, with none of the downsides. If you hate the new layout of the official Twitch app, make the switch to this and you’ll never look back.

I never write reviews. But Frosty is exactly what I was looking for. Actually it’s better than what I was looking for. Not only can you see emotes in chat, you can pull up the emote window with all the emotes available in 7TV, FFZ, BTV.. etc. And you can also just start typing the emote and it’ll give you auto-fill options with emotes that start with those letters. Twitch needs to pay this creator and have them integrate it into their main App. Hope Frosty is able to have longevity.

Twitch mobile has gotten worse and worse in usability and I hit my limit. A few people mentioned this app, and it intrigued me but I was definitely hesitant to try it since it's not a "true twitch app" - I'm so so glad I finally gave it a shot. I'm actually able to WATCH STREAMS AGAIN! Fingers crossed for an Apple TV app as well, currently I cast from my phone to my TV.

Every emote I could imagine was there. And it was super useful to have everything there just like regular twitch . My only question is if channel points are gained by watching on Frosty. Other than that it’s a great app that can delete the iOS chat delay.

The native Twitch app is garbage for mobile chatters. I use my TV for video and when in chat only mode, there is maybe 20% space allocated to actual chat. Frosty, aside from its many other features, fully dedicated the mobile screen when in chat only mode. Praise be the dev(s)!

Developer Tommy Chow is awesome. I made a report on GitHub and he responded almost immediately. Then a few hours later Frosty was fixed in Frosty Store. That was a Great experience for myself and I love using Frosty for 7tv emotes and all the customizable options for the chats and the playback viewer. Thanks!

this app lets you see 3rd party emotes on iOS (BTTV, FFZ, 7tv etc). 3rd party emotes is critical to my enjoyment of twitch, so this is great!

After reviewing the FAQ and Github issues, it is apparent all of this app’s downsides are due to limitations of the Twitch API. Hopefully Twitch recognizes the value 3rd party emotes (and clients) provide and will improve the API to better support features in apps like this app.

Dev also seems cool and does it for the love of the game.

Please add the ability to change quality. Whenever i hit the quality settings its always on auto and sometimes the quality drops to like 480 and it doesnt automatically correct to 1080 (my internet is fine and can play 1080 on twitch app without issues)

My only complains would be that when you add the delay it adds a lag to the text box too. So you can’t type anything new until it sends. Also I hope you can add channel points stuff eventually.

Mainly I would like to have access to channel points and predictions in Frosty . Other than that, it’s a great alternative for people who want to see all the third party emotes

Randomly now I cannot see my subscriber twitch emotes. They just vanished one day and I have no clue how to get them back. Without the subscriber emotes showing I have no use for Frosty .

ya this is exceptional. functionality, customization options, ui; so solid.

wut seems to work for me with the lag: open the stream in the twitch app, swipe down to detach the stream video, go to the this app stream, pause that feed and then just lay the expanded twitch video over it. the chat in this app doesn’t seem to lag at.

(the latency doesn’t look like it’s necessarily this app specific. there seems to be some level of latency when streaming twitch on things besides the dedicated app on iOS. but like, no idea wut all affects that . .)

Frosty is great. The only thing I wish it did was still play in a small screen when you minimize Frosty like twitch does

Excellent app but for some reason zooming in is disabled, very odd. For an app that has many amazing features lacking a basic accessibility feature like zooming in is strange.

Frosty is new and fresh To me, I don’t play games but it’s so much fun steaming other players, Frosty is so easy to use and search for specific games, great app, I highly recommend!

For starters, I never post reviews…about anything. i’ve been extremely satisfied with something and extremely disappointed in something and never left a review. But Frosty is AMAZING to say the least and warrants a very positive review. Frosty has so many functions and features that a twitch user just can’t experience on IOS. Besides the full array of emotes you get access to that you normally wouldn’t get on the standard twitch app, it still supports EVERYTHING the main twitch app does. You can still watch the stream on the application, play the stream in the background, play the stream through PiP, Audio only mode, etc. The settings allow the user to create a true personal experience to their viewing experience. I’m truly blown away with how simple and lightweight yet POWERFUL Frosty is. Outstanding!!
