GoJournal: Diary & Planner Reviews

I cannot afford subscription apps (being one of many people with a fixed income living paycheck to paycheck) so I am so thankful for companies that still offer paid apps, and GoJournal is a good journal well worth the price. The only complaint is that for me the streaks does not seem to work correctly; the streaks was always at 0 even though I used it everyday. Please keep up the good work and the updates coming.

Honestly, I’m so tired of subscriptions for journals. I just want something simple that I can use easily. This actually has a number of features that make it nice, like being able to use different fonts, create bulleted text, etc. And being able to add photos is always a plus. There are probably more things I haven’t discovered yet!

And, thank you for allowing me to share this with my other IOS devices through iCloud.

I updated to this app for the simple reason that I like adding a journal entry easily, quickly and according to date and categories.

This is a keeper and I am using it often. I highly recommend. Unlike just notes this attaches notes to dates which is easy to find.

Please add this to the tablet, ipad version and the mac version. I would probably use this more on my mac. I’m sure other’s would too. Overall i really like this, i love how we have individual journals for each things. please keep this going 💗

Nice journal. really enjoying using it. Hard to find one at this price, much less one this nicely polished. I would like to be able to insert maps or locations into entries. Also URL from a browse button. Thanks

I absolutely love GoJournal. I use it everyday multiple times a day. I do have some suggestions though: definitely a dark mode, more color options and fonts 😁😁

If it shows time automatically on the note it would be fantastic . Overall, one of the best.

Easy to use and does everything I need. This is an excellent journal app.

I got this app to test it and compare it to my 8 year old journaling app DayOne. I bought it with confidence due to my previous experience with Noteshelf which is amazing note taking app made by the same team.

At their initial launch I was not that impressed with GoJournal but that changed quickly. Within days and weeks of my purchase I saw many of the same features I expect from a great journaling app. I am now seriously considering moving from my current app to this one. The only question I have is if I can import from DayOne to this one or not and if that is on the roadmap?

GoJournal is easy to use and makes keeping a daily journal quick and simple. Love that it’s free too! A few quirks though:
- Love the syncing across devices, but the font doesn’t convert well from Mac to iphone/iPad. It’s much larger when you type on the computer then open the same entry in another device.
- Sometimes the bullet points initial cap the first word, sometimes they don’t. Would love to see that fixed (and potentially made a setting you can choose yourself, I prefer it not capped)
- If you use an emoji, the space after it is gigantic and the font gets screwed up, a fix for that would be great too.
- It would be nice to be able to pin a journal entry to the top.

This is a great app for journaling because of the templates it gives, editing features, and saving to the cloud. Other journal apps I tried did not have such robust features and usually had a monthly fee which I hate. The only thing that I could think of that would make GoJournal amazing would be the ability to edit or creat entities on a computer that I could then access on my phone. I tend to type a lot in my entry and find that I need a keyboard to get all my thoughts out.

Its my 2 week anniversary since using GoJournal and I love it. I love everything about it! The only concerns I have are 3:

1. Emojis: Idk why but when I log an entry on my phone and use emojis it always leaves this huge space between the emoji and the next word. I've figured out that I need to use a period and then go back and delete it before it looks normal. Could be my phone maybe?

2. Please create some type of tip jar to help support! The one time payment was a very good price I might say and would be sad to have it changed.

3. Maybe it already does but I haven't used it long enough: but a memories feature! Kinda like Day One and Facebook where we get notifs for previous entries from that day!

Other than that GoJournal is basically perfect and honestly with these suggestions and the right promotions could top Day One 100%. I am willing and would be very glad to help too!! :)

I’ve been using GoJournal for a few months now. I really like how there are different prompts and options to get started if you don’t know exactly what to write that day.
It might be nice to have an option to disable streaks? I don’t have enough happening in my life to update every day, so seeing the 0/7 streaks all the time seems a bit funky. I usually update every 3-4 days. Not a real problem tho.

It worked well for a while but as my journal got larger (>80 entries & images) I started getting more frequent crashes and entry corruption. Sometimes it will crash to Home Screen over and over, other times it will reload every entry over and over, while sometimes it will just flip to other journals randomly when I try to add an image. I’ve tried submitting a bug on this and another image issue but didn’t get any resolution. I’ll be looking for another journaling solution soon. It shouldn’t be a memory or processor issue as I have a M1 iPad Pro.

Really happy with how many notebooks you can make and the templates that are offered. I’ve looked at other journaling apps and some of them are just too expensive, but that flat fee for as many notebooks and colors is really worth it and makes planning out my week and journaling my thoughts much easier.

It’s a great concept, but I wish I had the discipline to useit every day. (I often ignore the reminders!)

I do sometimes have issues with the cursor jumping around when I’m typing & replacing what I type with an apostrophe. Can’t figure out why that happens. It usually occurs after I have had GoJournal open for a longer period of time. When it gets annoying, I can kust close GoJournal & reopen it; that works for a little while.

For the most part it’s amazing!! I love to make several different journals. One to track healthy habits, one to track daily gratitude, etc. The limits are endless. It has glitched and force closed a few times but hopefully they’ll put out an update soon to fix that. :)

GoJournal is awesome amazing, all of the above. I’m so happy I came across it. it’s good to release your thoughts to write daily quotes take notes and personal journal and to share with loved ones and friends is the best thing that could’ve ever happened without half into my actual diary.

I have a hard time keeping up with myself so having this makes it far more efficient. I’m always on my phone so having a calendar here makes it a lot easier to keep track of my days. :)

Please set up a tip jar so that we have the option to contribute periodicallly!!! Believe it or not, there are some of us who greatly appreciate the one-time purchase, while also understanding that it costs to maintain useful apps.

GoJournal is intuitive and easy to use. I love how you can have different journals for whatever you want and change between them quickly or view entries for all of them together.

The are a few things I’d love to see in the future that would make this an unbeatable app:

1) A view with a seamless vertical scroll through the journal pages.

2) The ability to change fonts.

3) Videos play automatically.

Please add moods and weather. And tags. Edit: so there are tags and you have to use # to add them. Please add ‘#’ on the bar where you can change text size, make it bold, etc.

Also a request: you could add themes. To change the purple colour.

Otherwise it’s a very good app.

I use GoJournal every day to snap and save a quick picture with a few notes. I am not a big journaler so this works perfectly for me! GoJournal is simple and so easy to use. Love it!

GoJournal is great and very user friendly, I highly recommend it. It has been having a little glitch lately where GoJournal crashes on opening. It usually fixes itself. But it really scares me that I’m going to lose my journals.

This is such an easy and perfect journal to use. I LOVE it! The only problem I have with it is that it needs to have a way to make it more secure and give the option for a passcode and not just face recognition or fingerprint. I have others that have access to my phone and a passcode would prevent them opening up my journal. Thank you!

I like the simplicity. If it is not simple then we stop journaling, usually.

Go Journal is great but needs more features. like a photo calendar. i.e. better templates, reminders to journal, basically everything day one has.

You might ask. why not just use DayOne?? Its ok feature wise but i dont like being bled out monthly. Go Journal has no subscription fee which is why im using it exclusively.

I hope they never go that route. Charge a fair price upfront per user and thats it. Tried evernote, diarium (diahhrea lol umm) , others. Nope stick with Go Journal.

DEVs please just keep it bug free and add more cool features to it and youll have a 5 star winner! Thanks
