So much potential

I am trying so hard to love AJournal. It has so many of the features that I want. It is just so frustrating to work with. I expect when I set a template as the default, that all dates will have that template. Sadly, that is not the case. Individually changing the template for every day is time consuming and frustrating. When I make changes to anything, it is hit or miss if it will stick. I spent hours adding things to the calendar, only to find nothing in AJournal . It is all still on my calendar, so I know it was put in correctly.

I also wish that auto-rotate works for the templates. I want the option to use the pencil in portrait mode, but sometimes it is convenient to use with my keyboard in landscape.

I genuinely hope the kinks get worked out, but in the meantime I will be looking for another app.

Cute but missing so much

I really want to find a great digital planner but this isn’t it. There are some nice things, such as being able to colorize and change backgrounds. And while I like being able to create my own page templates, defining how they work is tedious at best. For example, there’s no great way to define page definitions — what’s page 1, what’s page 2, what’s page 3, etc — globally. You have to do it one day at a time. Even after setting a page as a default nothing updates and you have to update each date manually. That’s getting old very quickly. It would also be really great to define a vertical AND horizontal format for a single template rather than two different, independent formats. This way, the elements on the page will adjust based on the iPad orientation, and more importantly, the handwritten text will move with the elements as they change location. Right now, you have to create a vertical template and a horizontal template, and even if they use the same elements, they don’t keep the data. That’s a drag, and without it, AJournal is a novelty at best.

I like it but it needs a couple more features

I think with the premium subscription, AJournal should have each user to have a sign in/account feature. That way I can access everything I have on my app on other devices. I have an iPad and iPhone, I have AJournal on my iPad and would like to see it on my iPhone. But I do not like to have my devices linked through iCloud. If they would have an account feature I could access it on my other devices.

I use AJournal to plan my day to day activities and my month to month activities. I use it for a shopping list and also to write out my finances.

I wish there was a way to share with my husband and kids. That way they can see what I have on the calendar.

If there was an account option, they could sign in and access the monthly calendar I have written out on AJournal .

I really think having an account feature would benefit users.

Small note: AJournal provides finances sheets, and like I said before I use it to write out my finances. Something that would be an extra perk would be a pop-up calculator like maybe on the top toolbar a calculator button that pops up a mini calculator that you can move around while working on your finances in AJournal

Pretty Good, but could be Great

I have been using AJournal for the last several weeks and overall it is a good app that I would recommend, however with a few small tweaks it could be amazing. If the developer added the ability to change the time frames for some of the modules I would give this 5 stars. For example I use ATracker as well and I like to keep daily, weekly, and monthly track of my time. In this app I am unable to see that there is only pre-defined time ranges of daily and weekly for my tasks/time spent and that includes everything, so if my task has a daily, and weekly goal it shows both goals. Would like to be able to separate those into different days. Also for the habit module there is only a monthly option available, I would really like to edit that for daily as well as weekly and have it auto-populate if I have the task completed in ATracker for that day/week/month. If these things were added this would easily be 5 stars. As it stands now I am happy with it until I can find something that does everything I just listed.

Would be 5, but sync needs tweaks.

I’m a huge fan of what they’ve created here in this app with the modular customizations, writing abilities, stickers, day-to-day template customizations, multiple time display options, projects, and pages. I’m on day 2 of the free trial for premium features and, I kid you not, this is everything I’ve been searching for. I nearly teared up when I realized just how many features it offered to meet needs not met by what I’ve tried elsewhere.

I’m totally bought in on the product and am ALMOST ready to subscribe long-term. The only missing piece is the seamless live sync experience to make this amazing tool functional for my lifestyle. Hopefully this can be resolved in a coming update.

Thank you, Dev Team, for this amazing tool!!!!!!

Finally an iPad app that syncs, reminds, and stores graphics

Clunky, crude, mysteriously undocumented and with a steep learning curve, this street punk bit of software is the only place you can calendar, plan, annotate and express on the market.
I know, I gave serious attempts to GoodNotes, ZoomNotes, ArtfulAgenda and not a few unnamed templates off Etsy.
This is the one and only program that gives back more that it takes to run.
Try it for 10 days… Add the upgrades, whatever they do. And sync with your calendar plus Apple Reminders. Write to the guys (one guy?) who does tech support — they do answer within 24 hours.
Do the thing, and if you’re like me, by the time you’ve given it a shot you’ll be accomplishing every thing you mean to do (or at least keeping track of it), giving yourself literal gold stars to keep this motivated streak rolling, and thanking the clumsy top bar icons that at last you’ve found the think you wanted when you invested in an iPads.

I NEVER write reviews, but had to for this app!

I am very much a tech enthusiast and have many different tablets, including iPad Mini 7, iPad Pro M4 11”, Remarkable Paper Pro, Remarkable 2, and Kindle Scribe. I have been on a constant search for a way to customize functionality of these devices to fit the way that I prefer to work, and to be aesthetically pleasing as well. I have been building elaborate linked pdf files to work on the devices to create something similar to an “app” for my purposes.

I stumbled across the this app app and decided to try it out. When I realized that is would integrate my actual calendar (instead of having to hand write in my old system), that I could customize templates to look any way I want, and that I could create my own work flow, I was sold! I immediately subscribed (price is very nominal for what you get). I would give this double the stars if I could.

I have run across a few bugs that are not critical, but will be submitting to the developer. I HIGHLY recommend AJournal!

Perfect productivity app

AJournal is just the best! I like to try all the different productivity apps out there to see if and how they might be able to increase my productivity and enhance my workflows. This one rocks! I created a similar to-do template I used in Evernote and Craft but this one is ready to go “out of the box”. Pair that with the fact that it pulls data from ATracker so I can not only plan my time but look back on how efficiently I actually used my time - it’s a winning combo. Can’t wait for dark mode availability and would love a little more flexibility on the journaling piece, but those issues are minor. Great app!

Best planner EVER!

I have tried multiple paper planners, including Plum Paper and Erin Condren (both of which are fabulous), but they couldn't accommodate my ever revolving calendars (Google for personal and Outlook for work). So, I tried digital planners, but the user-interfaces were always clunky (at best) and I couldn't personalize them! I had about given up when I found this gem. It’s everything I wanted! Its easy to personalize with all the available templates (that you can use "as is" or modify) and the ability to create your own. It also integrates my digital calendars so I never miss a meeting or appointment! Thank you for creating AJournal!

Almost perfect agenda

I love its simplicity, syncing capabilities, and templates. AJournal being simple is it’s strongest attribute. I wish it allowed to have a continuous scroll on it’s pages. Your limited only in the space that your screen provides. You can add more pages, but this becomes difficulty if you have long notes that need to stay inside one page. I also wish there was an ability to design your own templates (rearrange objects, make certain boxes bigger, or eliminating boxes).

This is not a down review by no means. It’s definitely a good download that helps you stay on track with your day, week, month, and year.

I’m hoping more updates are coming in the future from this dev team!

This is the best app I have used by FAR

I tried everything. Downloaded every app for my iPad and could never seem to get my life together. The fact that they offer SO much on the free version makes me happy and willing to pay for the premium, as you can tell they know what they’re doing with the templates, calendar syncing, and ease of you.

Seriously, thank you for not making everything behind a paywall. You’ve made a loyal customer because of it and you’ve made more money in the long wrong because I will be getting premium shortly just to show my support for AJournal, not because it’s needed to even use the features. It takes time to get used to but once you get it it’s great !

The best planner app

I am introduced to AJournal by ATracker, which is also an app I like a lot. I have tried several digital planner apps, and this is my favorite one by now. It can integrate my calendar and allow design different templates of daily view, weekly view, yearly view by myself. A few suggestions: 1. When configuring elements, could you please also allow creating lists with 12 rows? It is really a number frequently used, e.g., 12 months. 2. Can it support text selection? Currently I found that the text in the text boxes cannot be selected. 3. Can it support calendar view to conveniently select a certain day, week or month? 4. Can it also integrate iOS reminders? In general, I like AJournal very much! I will keep using it and update my review.

Great app to help me organize myself!

I’ve been using AJournal for a few days now and I have to say I’m quite impressed! I like that they give you a bunch of premade sheets that you can use but I love the fact that you can make your own and with any colors you want! You can also either type out your stuff or just write on it! Of course it’s not perfect, but it still really does help when I need to either quickly put something in my calendar or plan out my day/week. I also quite like the layout, it’s very easy to navigate and if you can’t figure something out then there’s a guide section that can pretty much answer what you’re looking for. I definitely think AJournal is worth the download!

Love it

I’ve been looking for a planner for my iPad that could do all the things I would normally do with a paper day planner. I can add all the stickers and sticky notes I want. You can copy months to keep the reoccurring payments and things you want to carry over. It’s user friendly. The only trouble I have had is it locks up sometimes using the copy and paste after selecting the clipboard.

I would like to see and be able to do is after I create something have the ability to save it, so I may be able to access it more easily to use again. (My own creations with stickers and words) Also, it would be nice to have a recent sticker section that way I don’t have to go looking for it again. Oh, and I would like to be able to lock words onto the picture the way I want and move them both together. -maybe something like that is in place, but I haven’t used AJournal for very long. I’m just really excited about it!

Love it, but missing some things

Love it. Took a little fidgeting to understand how it works, but it’s definitely organized the way it should be. Templates are great and I like that it’s not stylized. It’s about getting the job done. Definitely going to be paying for AJournal WANTED FEATURES: 1. when I’m making notes on a project page (that has more space for scratch paper), I want to be able to move around with ALOT more space. MS OneNote does this well (obviously they have a lot of resources, I know. I’m just saying I want it). 2. For Projects, I feel like it should be VERY EASY to have a large amount of folders for whatever I want. Only having 5 or so isn’t great. A drop-down menu or whatever would be nice

Space saver

I just started using AJournal yesterday and so far I like it. I’ve been carrying around my laptop, my iPad and my day planner and this should really save me some space so that I only have to carry my laptop and iPad. However, one of the things in my day planner is that when I have a document that I want to be reminded of months in advance, I print it and staple it to the day in the future that I need it. It would be helpful if I could do that in AJournal with a pdf. I see that I can use a picture and stick it on planner, which is a great feature because I love my post its, so I can just use a picture as a post-it but…like I said, sometimes I get documents or emails that I’d like to convert into a pdf and “post-it” to a future date. Perhaps I’ll just have to keep a file and leave a post-it directing myself to that file for now.

I LOVE IT HERE!!!

I have ditched the paper planner that never fits in my purse anyway and now only carry my iPad. My only dislike was it was only on the iPad now the new update allows me to have it on my phone. I haven’t used her phone app yet so this review is more for the tablet version but I love everything about AJournal. My legit only complain is that there aren’t more stickers to choose from I am a sticker person with planners. Hopefully that comes soon or even brown people emojis would be nice to see like Apple has. I just pray the cost stays affordable or my husband may make me go back to paper planning. I pay monthly because I want sure if I would like it or not but now that I do I rather just buy it for the year. I’d you love life on a planner this is the best app and I have tried pretty much every one out there. I just want more emojis/stickers or the ability to somehow use the Apple ones if possible.

Ticks all my boxes! Best of digital and “paper” experience.

Syncs with my Apple calendar and reminders so I don’t have to double enter stuff. Tell Siri to add a reminder and, voila, there it is next time I open my this app. Choice of several simple designs for daily pages that (bonus) let me alter to my own needs. I can add a page to my daily “planner” that can be as simple as a ruled page for journaling or a workout routine, or a project plan. The same goes for Yearly , monthly, and weekly pages. The fact that I can choose how simple or complex my planner gets is wonderful! Need to bring forward something I jotted down on another page, no problem, just use the lasso tool, cut and paste where you need. Need to go way back and look for a particular page, it has a thumbnail view that makes it easy. I love AJournal so much that I bought a smaller 10.2 inch iPad to make it easier to take it with me EVERYWHERE!

Best digital planner

I really enjoy all the customization offered on AJournal ! It’s so easy to make your own template and continue adjusting it. It’s also easy to access past entries. I am very much a paper to pencil person when it comes to planners but once I made a good habit of opening AJournal, I never looked back. The customization made it easier to remind myself what to write down and makes it easier for me to jot things down or draw things throughout the day. I also enjoy how it integrates the Apple Pencil. I don’t pay for any features but I definitely would to be able to make more pages if I needed to. There have been some times when there was a little bit of bugginess, but nothing major. If I open my iPad upright, the template will load oddly or sometimes the day will open and reset to the first of the month. Nothing that can’t be fixed by exiting and reopening AJournal . Great app overall!

planner du jor on phone!!

for a few dollars per month, you can get a great good planner, goal setter, habit Tracker, etc etc on your phone.. you don’t have to pay the few dollars to use the planner, but there were some features that I wanted that are included. you can make your own planner - if you want it to be all notes, Or tasks with your iCloud Reminders. Or your calendar with a Habit tracker. There are so many options. I needed something versatile that I could look at every day and It would roll over to the next day whatever I didn’t accomplish.
I highly recommend AJournal.
