I have tried a lot of fasting apps.
Most of the feature rich apps collect and sell as much user data as possible. This doesn’t appear to be such an app (see below).
Fasted very well designed and simply loaded with features, and it claims to collect no user data. This is commendable, and easily the most important aspect of Fasted in my opinion. I would not have even tried it otherwise, as I value my privacy and do not enjoy the principal or experience of being monetized.
In fact, I have already sent it to several people that I coach, and suggested that they remove the ads and begin enjoying it.
Every aspect of Fasted is well designed. This is rare in and of itself, but especially so in an app that has chosen not to monetize and turn every user into a cash cow.
The fasting stages are exceedingly well done. I appreciate the fact that Fasted exists.
I do have a few suggestions, though (not that anyone asked).
A "Custom fasts" section under the "very hard" section.
Tap to reorder fasting timer by time remaining, time elapsed, and percentage completed.
Widget Dark mode
When changing or setting the start time of a fast, the date is whited out and very difficult to see.
*edit* After running some tests I saw connections being made by Fasted , and decided to investigate.
Though the developer claims to collect no data, Fasted is built with no less than 4 software developer kits made by 3rd party interests, to wit:
AdMob
Google Play Services
Google Analytics for Firebase
Firebase Crashlytics
So data is obviously being harvested, fwiw.
