App Doesn’t Work

I work for a college and we get a free pass every semester. I never had a problem with the older app but the new one I already hate it. Four times I have been trying to attach the pass to the virtual card and it won’t work!

I’ve reached out to our main office and even this app office an no one has been able to help me solve this issue. I ride the metro rail not the bus, I received an email telling me to load money to the card but our passes are free via the college. Ugh…so frustrating!!!

Can’t load multiple passes for my family

I appreciate the intent of this new app, but it’s not as intuitive as the last one and hard to use. After many attempts, I’m unable to load multiple passes for my family. The last app allowed me the ability to load and manage multiple passes at a time.

Unnavigable, stupid, wrong, doesn’t even work right

Capital Metro replaced their old well designed app that worked as it should with this piece of complete idiocy. Might not have their name spelled right but they can’t spell it either, app doesn’t have their name spelled out anywhere, and the hapless idiot I talked to at customer service isn’t likely bright enough. According to what has been explained to me, they assume we aren’t bright enough to know when to buy what tickets. So they FORCE us to use some digital card that it doesn’t explain how to use, that makes no sense, that doesn’t let you view the ticket, not clear if you can store multiple tickets like most people do or how you would view them. There is no way to just view or present your ticket. AND that useless CARD doesn’t tell date the ticket expires so you can plan intelligently when to buy a new one. Anyone not bright enough to use standard tickets needs to go home to Mommy and get put back in their crib. Capital Metro needs to toss this piece of junk and bring back the old app. Unfortunately it is well recognized in the Austin area that Capital Metro is run by incompetent idiots. That is why voters never approve their otherwise much needed projects, and the City of Pflugerville, where I now live, won’t even do business with them.

You asked for it

Any app that forces a reply about a review gets a review.

Joke

CapMetro is a joke but so is public transport in Austin so…

From new app having trouble logging in

Cannot log in to my account from the new app even the email and password is correct

Keep getting error complaining account and password incorrect. Even after successfully resetting the password issue persists. I can use the same credentials logging in from web browser

No Transit Card/Express Mode support

I was highly disappointed when this app came out with this new system without supporting the iPhones Transit Card capabilities. Scanning QR costs is really clumsy compared to tapping your phone or watch on the NFC scanner, but for some reason, this app has only made tap to pay available when using a separate physical card.

By

Horrible

Very disappointed with this new app so much so I won’t be taking the bus anymore I rather just walk or use Uber

By

Terrible why did you need to change it

I’d like to speak to the guy who designed the UI in the use screen. Did you even try it?? Not being able to view the options and the bottom is an almost laughable design flaw.

Also I added a pass to my physical card now I’m just screwed if I want to use the virtual card?? Why can’t they share a balance. Terrible design terrible usage. Idk why you needed to change it the last one worked great

By

major problems

I miss the old app. This one has too many confusing payment options and often has an error and declines my card claiming there is no money on it even though it has more than enough money. Called my bank and it isn’t on their end so CapMetro is acting up. I loaded money on the virtual card and its still saying I have no balance. So now Im $15 out with no ride. Needs to be fixed or at least refund me.

The app doesn’t work, will not take multiple debit cards.

Was forced to update to this new this app app. It doesn’t work; it will not let me load my debit card information after multiple attempts and multiple cards. Useless. And I need to catch the train right now. Horrible timing for us to be forced to update CapMetro during the fall weather season when travel is high.

By

Terrible.

Thanks for making CapMetro so frustrating to use lol. Can add different payment methods, but none work when checking out a pass for some reason. This new app isn’t making Cap Metro any better, if anything it just makes the transportation even more inconvenient. Please fix it soon.

By

I literally can’t buy a ticket

I have no idea what’s happening but it’s not even showing the proper screen to let me buy a bus ticket and I only have my card, this is frustrating.

By

Buggy

The old app always worked perfectly and was super helpful. With this new one I'm unable to purchase passes. It keeps bugging out and saying transaction not completed.

By

801

The 801 is not running on schedule especially in the afternoon. The 803 will stop 3times before the 801 arrives

By

So useful!

I love that the trip planner includes bike and bus and rail and pickup options.

By

I got charged 6 times and I can’t contact customer support on the app

I can’t send an email through CapMetro .

I just got charged 6 times in the middle of the night.

By

This is worse

The old app was reliable. This makes it hard to even use the bus, I’m spending more money now for no reason

By

Back to the drawing board

Buggy, obtuse and with horrible and rude support.

By

App is fine, do like how to pay, but QR codes rarely work at the bus.

Am I missing something? The QR code rarely scans, and I don’t want to be that person at the stop who keeps everyone waiting while I struggle to pay my bus fare. Maybe the this app developers should triple the size? I do like that it auto brightens my phone so I know that’s not the issue, but I wonder if the QR code should be bigger to allow the bus scanner to “capture” it better. Right now, it’s only about 1in by 1in.

By

Not very intuitive, but it works

First, I tried adding a “physical card” but it didn’t work. I assumed that it was the same as a debit or credit card, did I misunderstand? A help button would be welcome here.

Anyway, I gave up and created a virtual card instead, then I simply added a pass to my virtual card and things worked as they should have. I wish that the interface was a little more intuitive but it works, so we’re fine.
I appreciated the fact that Apple Pay was proposed as a payment option, making it easy to select the right card and pay within seconds. No one wants to take their banking card out at the bus stop.
Also, fare capping is a very welcome feature. Thanks, this app for making this change!

Bus schedules are mostly incorrect

Sometimes it shows a bus is due but that bus never arrives or arrive 10 minutes later. The tracking system is bad.

By

Old App Was Better

Previous app was easy to use and worked well. This new app is unclear to tell if my purchased pass is working or not.

By

I dont like this app

I thought if I loaded money I could buy a week pass but no I ride multiple bus everyday and I don’t want to pay 1.25 every ride

By

Doesn’t work at all

I never used the previous app, which according to other reviews actually worked, but I’ve tried to use this one and it doesn’t.

I tried to register with my apple account and it said my email was already registered and that I just needed to sign in with my password. That was very strange since I have never used CapMetro or the old app. So I tried to login in with my email and it gave me a popup that said Error Email Verification sent. However, I never received an email. Yes, I checked my spam folder.

Worthless app.

By

Terrible

The old app worked fine. This one makes no sense and I can’t find any explanation as to how it is supposed to work. Whoever designed this 👎🏼 Also, I was able to log in via my previous account but the passes I had there are gone? Stealing money from transit users is very uncool. Frustrating at best.

By

Can’t use pass

I can buy passes, put money on my virtual card, but can’t use it? Am I missing a tutorial somewhere? That or there’s a bug that isn’t allowing me to activate and scan my pass.

By

Please add Apple Wallet Support

CapMetro store says it works with Apple Wallet but there is no option to use Apple Wallet. Apple Wallet is much more convenient than CapMetro . Embrace it please ❤️

Servicio

Muy buen servicio

Unintuitive and broken

Tried adding multiple credit cards via “physical card” option, which didn’t work. I then created a virtual card with no balance on it. I then tried to purchase a single ticket, which was confusing since there are local and commuter sections, so its not clear at all which one applies. I then purchased a single ticket but it would never let me activate the ticket (it was showing under tickets with an hourglass icon). CapMetro then logged me out and now I’m unable to log in anymore (via Apple login). It just shows “You are signed out” right after I log in, and I tried multiple times. The “Store” tab keeps showing “An error has occurred” and “The requested application was not found.” There is now a pending charge on my credit card for the ticket with the ticket nowhere to be found.

By

Doesn’t work

Got the message “locale should be valid” when I tried to create an account. An account with this app is required to buy tickets. I can only assume that message means CapMetro requires me to use location services simply to buy tickets. I don’t use location services. Why has this app decided to do this? What an absolutely terrible idea. Useless app.

By

I miss the old app

Why change something that isn’t broken? Now we have to make a name for each bus card? CapMetro is confusing and I miss the old one. Now I have two apps called this app. Yup; that sounds about right 🤦🏻‍♂️

By

Difficult to Use

Difficult to use. Able to load funds but not to access pass. Asked driver and they simply did not have time to assist so they waved us on.

By

Most horrible invention this company has as of yet!

CapMetro is horrible, I have been through weeks of rebounding charges through its virtual card system which I basically have to call to have removed from my card just to have card block issues which I am prescribed the embarrassment of explaining my situation to a bus driver just to board. Apps like this shouldn’t be allowed to continue in a professional world, I still haven’t seen a proper accounting sheet that reflects my charges/errors and feel robbed still. Deleting CapMetro immediately and suspecting it of fraud. No thank you.

By

Bus can’t scan AMP card screen

The equipment on the buses is almost never able to read my AMP card screen in CapMetro . Screen brightness is all the way up, but it doesn’t help. Even when it does scan, I have to move my phone around at all distances and angles. Bus drivers wave me on, since this happens all day and holds up pop, but this app loses moneyI shouldn’t complain,

By

Misleading

Sometimes marks a trip as existing but the bus simply doesn’t show up. I’ve spent countless minutes under the sun waiting for the bus to show up just to realize it doesn’t exist apparently.

By

Can’t use passes??

Every time I click on my virtual card is says no passes available??? I can’t even click on the passes I bought to use??? How does this even work???

By

Cap Metro

Don’t know what I’d do without this bus service. I’m 80 and don’t drive. It’s my only way to get to appointments. The drivers are all nice and helpful. They get me to my appointments on time and get me home too. Thanks Cap Metro!
