Low G? Don’t bother…

I have heard great things about Ukulele and was excited to use it with the new Uke I purchased… Well it was failing from the beginning! I was trying to tune for Ukulele and it wasn’t accepting my G as in-tune… first let me say, while I’m new to the Uke, I am a musician so I have a trained ear and beyond that I have a separate tuner that assured me it was, in fact, in tune… then the playing started and again it would not recognize anything on that string! So I messaged them and was told Yousician was basically set up for Soprano and Concert Ukes only… Tenors with a Low G tuning we’re out of luck and Baritones don’t even bother… I mean I get why Baritones would be problematic since their tuning is entirely different but Ukulele can’t adapt to an octave on one string?!? IT’S THE SAME NOTE JUST AN OCTAVE LOWER! This just boggles my mind… I’ve enjoyed the Guitar app so far but honestly I’m so put off by this shoddy situation I’m tempted to cancel them entirely.

Everything is behind a paywall and it’s not friendly to advanced players

I’ve been playing this app for about 8 years, but I believe there’s always room for improvement, especially in my technical skills. Downloaded Ukulele hoping to learn some new songs and because I thought it would be a fun game to play. There’s no placement tests to put you further along in the course, which is a major turn off for someone who is proficient in basic chords.
My biggest issue with Ukulele is not that it caters more towards beginners, that’s fine in my opinion. My issue is that EVERYTHING is behind a paywall. You can maybe get 10 minutes out of Ukulele before you’ve completely run out of modules to do.

If the developers of Ukulele were hoping to inspire new musicians to learn these skills, they have failed.

One thing…

I’ve been wanting to learn how to play this app for a long time, and Ukulele is really helping, but I feel like you shouldn’t have to pay to continue the lessons. We al came here to learn, not pay for stuff. I feel like the premium thing should be optional and not have it to where you have to pay to continue our lessons. Please, please take this into consideration because I want to continue learning with Ukulele.

Fine for basics, mid to higher levels of Melody/finger strum need more

The instructional videos are plenty for the basics however when entering into the more intermediate Melody and finger style plucking, there is a lack of instruction. For example, the dual finger alternating plucking (hard to master) or placement of fretting fingers when playing Melodie’s that have subsequent notes in the same fret but different strings.

It leaves students to be frustrated in their own devices. I think for a premium price, there should be more instruction/help videos for learners having difficulty beyond ,” just slow it down”

Practice but it’s pretty easy

It’s really easy to learn a uke, I’m on day three and I’m on a easy song. There really easy to tune as well just tap the key you wanna tune and tune it so it doesn’t mistake one key for the other .
It’s pretty good, better than the yet lessons

It doesn’t hear me I think

I have been wanting to learn this app ever since I made my own and took some lessons, I heard Ukulele was good at teaching you and saw the reviews. I got my this app tuned up and started doing some basics, everything was going fine until the 5th one, I don’t know why but Ukulele doesn’t do anything and at first I thought maybe my phone froze but it wasn’t frozen. I think maybe it can’t hear me but I played louder and closer and it still didn’t respond. I don’t know what is wrong with Ukulele but I do feel very discouraged to learn the instrument now😫😖😣😭😥

Very disappointed

All the songs that used to be free are now part of the subscription. You can hardly do anything for free. The challenges that were fun used to be free, but now the songs used for the challenges are part of the subscription. I searched and I couldn’t find one free song to play. Songs that used to be free and that were used in the lessons aren’t free anymore so you can’t even complete the lesson. The price for the subscription is ridiculously high too. I guess the only thing that you can do for free is the tuner. I’m very disappointed.

Listen Up People

AHHH!!! I hate this so much, first off, the tuner. the tuner says i have to tune wayyy up. but my own personal tuner says my strings are perfectly tuned. AND it kept saying that i was playing a wrong string. secondly, the teaching in the beginner stages it's just a 2/1 minute video. barely taught me anything except how to hold the this app. and when your doing the open notes, i'm doing it just fine but it says it's wrong. then i yell saying i hate it and i did the open note. how did that even happen?!?! it's bad and i think the singing classes are better.

So far so good

I gave up the this app a year ago. A week ago I saw Ukulele on Ukulele Store and downloaded it, and now I’m playing the uke every day.
I’m pretty okay with not having premium, cause lately my fingertips are really sore but I still want to keep playing, so the time limit helps give my fingers a break 😂

Horrible Pay to Use System

Ukulele used to have a system where you could use Ukulele for a small amount of time each day. Now EVERYTHING is paid. After completing the most basic of basic tutorial, EVERYTHING is behind a paywall. And the prices are so prohibitively expensive that I can’t even consider paying for it. The tutorial wasn’t even long enough to judge if it’ll be worth it as I move along.

Hope I can find a different app because this one is unusable now.

I hate this app

Ukulele NEEDS help it doesn’t teach u anything it won’t help u remember any of the keys. The worst part is NOTHING is free you need to buy everything and it’s so expensive. Ukulele may free but you need to buy everything. Ukulele needs to be improved I thing they should take down Ukulele and redo everything because at this point it’s making me not wanting to play the this app. And I want to learn a song before I go to this app lessons but it won’t let me do anything.

By

Needs improvements, overall awful!

Ukulele is great, but the tuner part was frustrating! I was playing on the correct strings and it said it was wrong and to check again?! I’m sure that I was on the right one. It was so frustrating I had to delete Ukulele. I hope the tuner part gets better because I feel like this was horrible!

Love this app

Ukulele is making the learning experience fun. I don’t know if it’s the best way to learn this instrument but it makes me wanna play all the time and keep picking up my this app. And that’s a darn good start. Couldn’t recommend it his app enough!

By

Didn’t teach me anything

Ukulele gives you one person on learn that’s easy and then every single song you play you slow it down to 0 and then you can do it. It teaches nothing about how to switch to a cord easier or anything. It just throws you in. Also just keep it on Yousician app.

By

Ehh

Ukulele is good and all but there’s 2 apps you have to get which wastes space and when you tune and tune over and over you will get different tunes. Also when you are playing a song, the frets kind of work but sometimes it doesent work and says it’s a different note. Get it if you want.

Good but….

I love how the setup is arranged it’s wonderful but what If someone wanted to learn the this app and they used your app then later found out that to move forward in levels you have to pay 140 dollars. Just saying some people don’t have that kind of money you could lower it to 40 or 50 but why 140?

Amazing

I did not know anything about this app but I tried Ukulele and in two days I could play songs. Great app. I recommend it to people who want to learn it. It is easy and fun.

Soooo much help 😁😁😁😁😁

Ukulele helps me so so so much I’m getting super good it would be nicer if no buy so my parents wouldn’t have to keep paying but now I have my ukele I can play forever I love your game so so much

By

I love it, but…

I love Ukulele! It’s super fun and gets you started playing right away. But, I would love it more if there was a music theory component.
