Needs better ad differentiation & wastes data
I respect this news organization for integrity and transparency (see the “Dig In” tab to see the sources behind the each story, to read and make up your own mind).
Although better in this version (0.2.0) than in previous ones (1.0??), it’s often difficult to tell a news story from an ad. This means that some folks may click on links thinking they are news, and will instead receive sponsored content. This is very bad for a news app, IMO.
Also, even though there are specific “Read”, “Watch” and “Listen” options at the bottom of the screen, videos ALWAYS load as pop-ups, just like on the site. If I want to watch a video of a story, I would click the “Watch” tab. This wastes data, and I was surprised by the amount of cellular data used by JusttheNewsApp when reviewing my data usage at the end of the month.
If these two things are corrected, it would really improve JusttheNewsApp .

Advertising overload
So much advertising, it actually makes the phone overheat and a hard boot is needed to clear it out. Can read about 3 articles if you can get through the constant ads and then have to close and boot.
Was excited to see it available… not worth the download

They lied, it’s 100% opinion
They promised to report news without opinion, but after opening their app, all I got from it was their opinion on everything, and it extremist opinion at that. There was no balance, everything was laced and dripping with their extreme opinions.
I just wanted news without being told what to think, but this is not JusttheNewsApp for that.
They lied.

Good Content crappy app
I read JUST THE NEWS regularly on the website and the content is great. Decided to get JusttheNewsApp and it’s painful to read news on JusttheNewsApp platform.
So full of ads and pop-ups of articles you’ve already read that it’s hard to tell what the real content is. Just deleted it. Will try again if they give it a makeover.

I love Just the News! I was introduced to it by Dan Bongino who references John Solomon quite frequently, and it has become my go to news source. Thanks for releasing JusttheNewsApp !

Bad interface and questionable sourcing
I wished that it was just the news, but it took me two minutes of their interface that is 50% ads to realize it is clearly opinionated and slanted in one direction.

iPad app is Unusable
The pop up ads overrun the page obscuring the content. Absolutely unusable. I’ll just continue to use Safari and go to the website.

Like the app, but…
… The JTN stories and the advertisements are so interwoven in the interface that it’s hard to tell what is a JTN story and what is an ad.
I’ve been waiting a long time for JusttheNewsApp but it needs work.
Viewing on an iOS phone stinks.
