After install you are on the ‘Basic’ plan. But there is nothing you can do in the basic plan. So you can’t even test KIRIEngine without paying to upgrade. Why even offer a ‘Basic’ plan?

First, they couldn’t be bothered to allow me to use my iPad screen. Instead, I look at an image of an iPhone 6. Thanks.

Next, taking a photo immediately crashes my iPad Pro 12.9

wasted time.

At the beginning it felt like a well-designed app experience but not really.
It does NOT have real time scan data and you are just asked to take up to 70 photos via a variety of angles hoping to meet their requirements. Then your data will be uploaded and “queued for processing” which took forever without any estimation.

I do have concerns about KIRIEngine obtaining data and upload them to the server without a formal agreement or permission.

I almost signed up for the annual fee but then I wondered why they wanted my $$ before I tried it?

Good thing because when I did, (specifically with my iPhone 12 Pro Max) it had me take 200 pics and then locked up after hitting Finish?

All buttons went grayed out and none would do anything so, I had to quit KIRIEngine and loose the 200 pics with no scan of any kind???

I’m glad I tried it, first!

I wasted time setting up a background, turntable, light stand and camera stand plus shooting 200 images and got nothing! Not even a bad scan?

Great idea but won’t work on my iPhone, not even once!

Such a shame!

I paid for a year subscription to try it out and it turns out it’s a fixed subscription even tho the wording says “trial”

So they just took money from me under false pretense

To make things worse I can’t even process a single batch of photos. It takes forever after I also waited for a queue.

I’ve had a project in queuing for over 24 hours now. It’s just pics of the cars lettering I’d like to try and model. It’s the first project I decided to test KIRIEngine on. If it takes this long for something like that I can’t imagine how long it would take for something much bigger, things don’t look good for KIRIEngine as other reviews are claiming.

Scanned something 3+ hours ago and it still says it’s in processing mode. item is small

Tried creating multiple ‘3D rendered’ items. All saying failed.
Despite doing what was said and following each direction to a T. Nothing worked.
Honestly worthless.

I seached ever single photogrammetry app on apple app store and didnt find 1 that is free and good and on KIRIEngine u have to wait 4 hours or more to get the pictures done. I just want a decent app that can function without paying for stupid things

It doesn’t work with iPad. The screen is black. Hit the shutter button. And KIRIEngine closes.

After a few tries, I am finding KIRIEngine actually impressive.

Well made app. Solid results with new features being added regularly. Clearly the team behind KIRIEngine is hungry to make it great. Would recommend for intro 3D scanning.

Hard to get used to

The free version of this photography software is really good. There are a few bugs, but for the most part the it’s really good.

It’s not as easy as you think but keep trying and it works! Really cool app

Ai could be better

KIRI is intuitive and fast. Have tried many different apps, all have steep learning curve. This one does not, especially for the non techie! Great results, quick to learn. Great results!

I have been using it for a while and I can’t do the scanning but the picture mode still works really well

I can 3d scan anything from all of my imported photos even random ones that are similar to what I’m trying to model. It’s so hard to find a photogrammetry service. KIRIEngine has it all.

I had taken photos from every angle and tried to keep the object as centered as possible. It just didn’t work. The scan came out all chopped up and just not right.

Made my whole week better. Fabulous!

Originally I didn’t have a LiDARScanner on my iPad but I found that you can use Photos to make a model I mean it’s amazing and no subscription completely free if you don’t get pro and you can do so much with KIRIEngine I love it don’t consider downloading KIRIEngine and give me five stars you

Amazing 3D scanning program also is free which is amazing I haven’t been able to find a good and free 3D scanner until now. They also have an amazing community on discord

KIRI Engine is a great way to scan small objects with photos from your phone! Also, you can use it for free, or upgrade to a paid subscription!

Not exactly sure why this has four stars because as someone who does scanning all the time this is currently my go to for object scanning. Great app and I know it has a great future because I’ve had conversations with the developers. Excited to see how they advance the capabilities and the interface. Keep it up!

Using only the camera you can capture a lot of detail! If you have even a tiny iPhone this powerful app is capable of turning your items into a digital copy.

Try it, Play with it, test it, and you will like it. It will speak for it self

Very happy with the quality of the scans for my current needs! Make sure you take below and above shots as well or the model will have a hole.

I was considering paying someone to scan my projects but this product solves my problems with ease. I don’t have the patience to learn new software and this product provides superior performance even at the 70 picture level.

I am relatively new to 3D scanning, and I needed a scan of a smooth, curved, chrome-plated tapewriter (DYMO 1570). I set it on my dining room table, and did a relatively quick scan with the featureless mode in KIRI. About 15 minutes later, I had a more than serviceable model of the features I needed. I didn’t even need to matte the shine or adjust any lighting. It’s not a perfect forensic scan, but given the slapdash setup, quick scanning, dim light, difficult subject, and lack of experience, I’m more than happy with my decision to get a pro subscription.

I do wish KIRIEngine provided more detail about the export options and let me choose multiple formats and options for a single export, or let me queue multiple exports without waiting for the previous one to finish. Maybe a future version can offer these?

It’s very easy to use and get scans for digital items

This just blew me away! Used a few scanning methods over the last few years. Tried this tonight very casually not expecting much. Holy smokes ! Great job !!!!!! Hope it exports just as easy.

I just got it about an hour ago and it’s super easy to use and makes surprisingly good models even with the free 70 photos. Probably going to end up upgrading at a later point so I can make larger models that require 200 photos, and be able to export more models

Tried photogrammetry with completely free solutions like zephyr but never got great results. Kiri gives great instructions at the beginning and the scans are beautiful! There’s a bit of a wait time but if my home pc could do this I bet it would take that long anyway.

I haven’t had a single problem with KIRIEngine and the results always end up amazing!

Does what it said, was impressed with the quality of the scan.

Im able to finally 3d scan my Disney props to digitally archive them

Feel enjoyable using KIRIEngine . Very straight forward, nice design. I have been playing it with my 5 year old girl and we both love it! My daughter has been printing and sharing little stuff with her friends at school and our community. Highly recommended!!
