Display.land 3D Model Scanner Reviews

As a long time user of other 3D scanning apps and tools using this for the first time - I’m impressed. The developers took a really gnarly process and made it as easy as taking a video of whatever I want to scan. I figured out I was able to export my mesh by sharing a link to myself (little arrow icon on the home feed) and downloading it on my laptop. I used the OBJ file in C4D and quickly made use of my scan as a an environment. Pretty crazy cuz that used to require a ton of manual work. It was also fun to see everyone else’s scans - the developers did a good job making this social and feel like a welcoming community. Also the ability to crop and decorate my mesh on the phone is kinda mind blowing. Look forward to getting more 3D objects though! Would also love to have an option to put my scans in my other scans to quickly make little scenes. Gosh - it’s such a world of possibilities, I’m excited to watch this thing grow.

This thing is a bonafide world authoring tool in your pocket. I am interested in the AR / VR stuff that has been slowly getting better and this is a FREAKING HUGE step forward. I’m going to use this to capture every single place that I love! Then whenever I want I can go back and BE THERE IN VR. Insane. Anyways yah - bringing part of the real world online... this is nuts. I can’t really imagine how this will go when everyone is capturing and sharing their stuff - but so far I LOVE looking at other places. It’s like travel + a video game maybe? Idk.

Also - can we get a ton more 3D objects? Make it more like a game - I also want to add audio to my worlds. Just keep adding stuff.

I was just researching 3D scanners for my games and was watching a Brackets tutorial and you sponsored his video. After watching his video and seeing the results of this product I was like 🤯. So I quit looking at 3000 dollar scanners and switched to this !free! app!!!! The results are mind blowing if you take your time!!! Great product and keep at it guys!!! Also the idea to process the scan on your servers instead of the phone was brilliant knowing how long it might actually take. I can tell you guys put a lot of thought and time into this. For a programmer with no artistic skills this is the best. Thank you!

Update: I see the reply here but I don’t think you understood me, I’ll restate my request—

We should be able to flag our captures as downloadable for others or amongst our app friends. I know We can create a link and explicitly share that link on an individual basis, But I want to allow complete strangers from all over the world to be able download my scans if they wish without individually sending them a link. Other app users should be able to export my creations - if I had an option to enable this I would.

Otherwise it’s what I’ve always wanted on my phone.

Displayland3DModelScanner blew me away! I love viewing all these crazy 3d creations. It's so immersive and intimate to be able to see fantastic art, people's houses, and far away monuments and feel like I'm seeing what the author saw. I've played a bunch of VR, but this is the REAL works, which is so much more interesting. I can't wait for more people to join and build a magical world together! To be honest I've mostly been trying to capture my dog because he is a perfect three dimensional representation of cuteness. I think this will make him go viral. 😅❤️🐕

I am always looking for ways to show places I’ve visited to my friends and family who live far away. I never thought that I’ll be able to share 3D view of it, but it’s so easy with Displayland3DModelScanner! I just need my phone to capture it, then I can edit it (!!) and send the link and they can see it in a web browser! No other tools required. Also it’s a great way to find cool places all around the world - I’ve already saved few I want to visit and maybe make my own 3D captures.

Street photography meets video artistry = 3D magic! Displayland3DModelScanner lets you use a familiar tool like your phone camera to create a completely new kind of 3D visual output. Hard to believe how easy it is to make your first ever 3D model (literally just take a video and upload) Plus it’s making me appreciate the world in its full 3Dimensional beauty! I love chasing colorful and nicely lit subjects to capture when I’m out and about. But the cool thing is you can be so spontaneous about it. Just step outside and capture something beautiful!

I love Displayland3DModelScanner! It allows me to capture different 3D spaces anywhere and then re-enter that space to relive the moment! I especially love using it to capture rooms in my house so I can see the space from above and also so that when I’m out shopping I can see what would look good in each room (furniture, carpets, etc.) Displayland3DModelScanner is great for so many reasons and is super user friendly as well!! Would highly recommend. Have already shared with my family and friends who love it as well!

Displayland3DModelScanner is so awesome! It allows you to record any real life place and turn it into a 3D version of that space. I can’t believe how detailed the results are. I love feeling like an artist and being able to create cool looking things. I can see this being really popular for all kinds of people! You don’t need to be a professional technical artist to be able to be creative and experiment with 3D art. It’s pretty amazing that you can do this just from your phone.

I have been loving this new way to share experiences. I live far away from home, and I love that I can capture my surroundings and share them with my family to see. I was even able to get them to view the 3D captures of my apartment in VR, so they could walk around where I live! We feel more connected as a result. It’s great to see where else people are going and how creative people are getting with this technology on the feeds!

I live far from family and with Displayland3DModelScanner I am able to show my family and friends all sorts of things and places as if they were there. I never thought I would be able to map places in 3D with just my phone and then just share them with my friends on the other side of the world! 😁 it really help us feel closer in some sense if you think about it.

I was uploading a 3D model and I was about an hour and a half into the upload. I was watching stuff on my TV while the upload was open on my phone. It had been at 55% for about 15 minutes. I check to see if it has gone up at all. I check and after idling for around 15 minutes it had crashed. Along with that I don't always want to upload my 3D models for the world to see. It hadn't even gotten to the processing OR preview step yet. I may try Displayland3DModelScanner again if I can skip uploading to this company's server and instead view my models privately on my device.

Displayland3DModelScanner lets you create 3d versions of places you care about and share it with your friends and family. As someone who had family across the oceans, it’s pretty cool. I can show my grandma my home, places I enjoy or stuff I am into; she can experience it all in a way that pictures or video cannot convey. This is cool and has a lot of potential. Check it out!

I’ve played around with scanning workflows in the past with XBox Kinect and web-based photogrammetry, but being able to do it all right from my phone is a game changer. I really love the cropping workflow too. Probably my favorite feature is being able to share my scans with anyone even if they haven’t downloaded Displayland3DModelScanner .

After getting the hang of this it’s really fun to go out scanning things. I’ve been into this since depth sensors came out, but not being able to scan outdoors in sunlight and the large size of these sensors made it hard to use. Cool to be able to get something with just my phone.

I’m looking forward to seeing what people publish.
