Horrible customer service experience and frankly dangerous service. I was returning the car and the car switched off because I was 10 minutes late returning the car while at a busy gas station. I thus blocked traffic for about 10 minutes while I had to argue with a customer rep to turn car back on who, instead of sympathizing, kept telling me that I’d have to pay a day extra. After complaining about the experience, Liigu waived the extra day but put in a late charge that was basically the same amount.

The rental experience was otherwise decent, although frankly the lack of in person customer support is just not worth it, and the keyless approach means you have to have your phone charged or be in cell service at all times to make it work. That and the horrible, stressful return experience, slow customer service response times, and lack of sympathy mean that it’s far better to just use a normal rental car service.

I picked up my car in the middle of the night. It was parked in an unlit parking lot at the side of a hill so I had to use my phone to see any damage and couldn’t access the front of the car except by leaning over from the side. They later charged me about 200 bucks for a 1 inch scratch on the *underside* of the front bumper, plus a 45 euro administrative fee. I did not cause this scratch, and there’s no way I could have seen it except in bright daylight with full access to the front of the car and getting down on my belly. Its a ludicrously stringent policy and they probably choose dark parking lots just to make it easier to overcharge people for damage they didn’t cause. I won’t rent from them again and recommend you don’t either unless you want to get charged for damage other people caused or for every tiny scratch from gravel or the like.

Please heed this review. I booked with them in September of this year. It is now December and I have yet to be refunded my deposit. There were no problems during my rental period. They just straight up charged my card and haven’t returned the deposit amount. They don’t tell you in advance how much they are charging as a deposit nor do they make it evident that a deposit would be charged in the first place. I have lost $1600 due to this company. I encourage you to look up other reviews on liigu.

They will charge you a deposit of $1600 without your knowledge and steal your money. I had a two day rental with minimal driving and they would not give my deposit back. They should be sued and shut down as a company. It’s a scam.

I canceled a reservation on Nov 10, more than 30 days now and they still did not refund my money, already sent several emails without response. DO NOT rent a car with them. Also several cases of this company being dishonest

Compete scam. Leads you to a car that doesn’t exist and the person on the phone is useless. Then they charge you with a “no show” fee after leaving you stranded. Stay away at all cost.

Multiple failure to connect. What a nightmare!
Love everything about it except app couldn’t connect multiple times in remote locations!

I had a reservation with Liigu for half a year and they canceled my reservation a day before I was supposed to leave without warning. Terrible company. Terrible app.

This company will steal your damage deposit- usually at least $1500. Do not rent from them!

I was really hoping to like this company. I’ve rented many cars while traveling around Europe and I’ve never encountered anything like this with a rental company. Just like everyone else- I too am waiting for the return of my deposit. Another couple traveling with us rented from the same company and they too have not received their deposit back.
Our rental was from September 11-18th.
For our return, we were running late so decided not to fill the cars with gas thinking it would be taken out of the deposit. We had a problem getting into the car lot as we didn’t realize there was a code so we pulled a ticket instead. We weren’t sure if this would cause a problem, but also figured they could take any fees out of our deposit. While trying to figure out the gate, one of us was exactly one minute late getting into the lot. We didn’t think this would make any difference in cost of rental. As instructed we took pictures/videos before and after the rental as instructed, and we absolutely did not cause any damage to any of the two vehicles
The overall experience of the rental process and keyless entry was seamless. The description of the car was exactly what I reserved online, but it’s all been lost on the frustration of trying to get my deposit back for the past month.
I’ve sent an email each week since the return and always have received a reply, but at this point I feel their just pacifying me with “we value you as a customer” and “we’ll look into this right away” Liigu has not once reached out to me or the other couple during this entire process of trying to get our deposit back. We’ve always had to initiate the conversation.
At this point I don’t know if I’ll ever receive an explanation as to why the hold on my deposit and also not expecting to get any of my deposit back.

Wish it were a better experience.
