I ordered a book for a friend’s birthday. Worked on it for 20 hours gathering dozens of photos and personal messages from friends for this special gift. Ordered the heavy $$ paper etc. etc. The book arrived and had the WORST CHEMICAL SMELL. Awful and certainly something you would never give to a friend. I contacted customer service and they agreed to reprint and promised the smell would be gone on the 2nd printing and it would arrive on time for the birthday party. It never arrived. Gift completely blown. Customer service couldn’t say when it would arrive as they hadn’t even printed it by the deadline. So very very disappointed. Poor product and poor customer service.
Will never use them again.

I placed an order last week and paid for expedited/overnight shipping, as I needed it by a certain date; however, the status had not changed on my order for a couple of days, so I reached out to their customer service (who are nice, but didn't have an answer outside of a placating apology) to get a status - since it would need to be shipped out by tonight in order to get to me tomorrow morning. When I had first reached out this AM, they said they would email the printers and get back to me...well, no one got back to me, so then I reached out again and they just said, "we had an email out to the printers, but they have not responded" --- this is about 6+ hours later when I followed up.

So now, I have no idea if the book will go out tonight and I have a feeling that I won't receive it in time. Very frustrated and disappointed that they don't have more internal visibility or proactively follow-up with their customers.

Avoid this company! I made a bulk order of calendars, but they were never delivered. The order was apparently completed but was lost and never even got to the postal service per the tracking number. It’s been 9 days and the order is still sitting on a company dock waiting to get a USPS label. I’ve reached out to the company every day for 5 days and they just blow me off. Their trouble-shooting capacity to address delivery failures is non-existant. No one has even tried to locate my order. My only next step is to demand my money back and go with another company.

MixbookDesignPhotoBooks is terribly designed — it seems like it was just an iOS app ported directly over to MacOS without any thought of functionality or user interface.

I tried to log in from MixbookDesignPhotoBooks , and it wouldn't open the login page on Chrome. I had to switch my MacOS default browser setting to Safari for it to log me in correctly.

Even once I got past that hurdle, I tried starting a project and discovered that to add photos directly from the iCloud Photos library, you click a button that says "Add from my phone" — even though it's an app running on MacOS.

And then I found that MixbookDesignPhotoBooks window actually does not resize beyond about 1/8 of my screen.

After 30-45 minutes on chat with tech support (half of which was spent waiting for incredibly slow reply times) only to find out that they don't actually have a MacOS native app. MixbookDesignPhotoBooks on the MacOS store is actually just the iOS mobile app.

I made a request that they pull the MacOS app from MixbookDesignPhotoBooks Store until they can come up with an actual Mac native desktop app. I'm not holding my breath that they'll honor that request.

MixbookDesignPhotoBooks is in super beta version. You can’t do simple things, like reorder pages in a photo book. Other things that should be easy, like picking a font size, resizing a photo, or moving a text box, are virtually impossible. You have to use a browser rather than an app to do these things (and it’s still hard). It also consistently forces you to refresh to prior versions of your project, wiping any recent changes, and it does this when you click save, not giving you the option to keep what you just pressed save to preserve. I wanted to support a small business, but I’ll have to move back to Shutterfly.

I was so pleased with MixbookDesignPhotoBooks when I first started creating my photo album. I’m working on a huge project and wanted a cohesive look throughout. I loved how you could basically edit everything on Mixbook including the background color of the text boxes. That feature has now disappeared and I’m unable to complete the album with the same look which is very frustrating to me. There’s also many other little glitches that keep happening. For example when I’m working on say page 30 and then save that page every time I go back to look at all the pages it automatically sends me to page 10. I’m still slowly trying to work on this album because I’m over 300 pages deep at this point but it has become grueling. Please app developers fix these problems! I really need the text box color fill option back! Thank you

I received someone else's book / photos in the mail with their full name and address attached; obviously a massive mistake that compromised important personal information that breaks their privacy policy and a customer's trust, especially when sent to a stranger attached to private photos. Rayjayne, the customer support agent, first failed to know their refund policy and when I quoted it to her directly offered a 50% discount. I broke it down for her again and she finally offered some of my money back. Genuinely so embarrassing and very telling of how unorganized Mixbook is. I can see why they have to have massive sales/discounts for people to give them business.

MixbookDesignPhotoBooks is stellar, far superior to Shutterfly. Designing a metal print was a snap. So, I was really surprised when it arrived and the print quality made it look like the photos were shot on a digital camera in 2003, rather than my iPhone. I complain, and lo and behold, I’m told that images need to be 300 dpi and to convert them with a third party site. That’s fine, support was good and they sent me a new print for free.

But it’s horrible app design! You are actively encouraging me to upload directly from my phone, and giving me no indication that the DPI is too low — in fact, the virtual preview looked great — and then delivering me subpar products. You should be automatically upscaling the image, or at least telling me I should. The current design led me straight into a bad outcome. And I’m sure many more people got similar results but just assumed it was a bad quality product.

I placed an order for a Father’s Day book on June 4th solely because your app stated that it would arrive on Thursday June 13th. Now I’m seeing that it’s not due to arrive until June 17th. This is a huge disappointment and unacceptable-I would not have placed an order with your company had I known my item would not arrive on time for the holiday! I paid close attention to the delivery date specifically because it was very important to receive this as a gift. Now it’s ruined. Tried using the “chat” feature built into MixbookDesignPhotoBooks and nobody is even running it-no answer! Do not place an order with this company! No honesty, reliability or customer service. Waste of my money and I’m so upset that I now have to figure out another gift idea.

First ever app review bc I truly hope the Mixbook folks will make their app more usable. The design tools are horrid.

-There’s no nudge feature so you end up with super frustrating/disordered design situations because of their strong guideline locking tools. (trying to make it too easy but in making it too easy it’s not working well)

-it’s really hard to change the sizes with the little scrollbar consistently. Please add a place where you can type in numbers.

-there’s no way for MixbookDesignPhotoBooks to remember which fonts you’ve been using, so every single page of your 25 page book you have to relocate your fonts, colors, and sizes, etc.

-MixbookDesignPhotoBooks doesn’t really understand which things you’re trying to select, so it will randomly pick up other items while you’re trying to resize one on top of them. I’m leaving this review because this has so much promise! Please make some changes.

I am disappointed that there is no native landscape mode for the iPad. I have used Mixbook for years on my computer and am glad that there is now an app for Apple products. However it would be much more usable if it would rotate to landscape mode on my iPad. There are now some good alternatives such as The Journi app that are easier to use while on a trip and provide some options to document locations, flights and even weather that are not available in Mixbook. Mixbook does however offer much more layout and creative flexibility, at least on the computer.

Not as user friendly as is led to believe. I wasn’t really happy with my first project. Auto process repeated some photos and had a wrong date in there. It’s so blasted tiny and can only do on phone so I didn’t catch the wrong date before I paid a ridiculous amount of money to have it done. They SAY happiness is guaranteed but that’s not really true. Sigh.

That said, the quality of the book is really really nice and it’s a beautiful way to create a remembrance of an event. I just wish it was a little easier/user friendly for those of us with less than stellar eyesight. It’s really hard to create and edit when everything is so so small.

I like most of the functionality of MixbookDesignPhotoBooks . The photos are easy to upload. The drawbacks include one major thing and one minor. The major is that when you use MixbookDesignPhotoBooks and your fingers to crop photos, it usually (about 90% of the time) swipes to the next page, so you have to continuously go back to the prior page each time you make an adjustment to a photo. This took up a lot of time and frustration. And the minor issue is that the credit card info doesn’t auto fill. This is only a slight pain, but so few websites don’t have that functionality these days that I was just annoyed.

Why do I have to login repeatedly as I change screens? Why is it hard to find my work in progress and move between various book drafts? Hard to even find where drafts are kept. I clicked login with google and it kept succeeding, but then I’d I click different menus I’m not still signed in. It keeps asking me to join…. Thought I already joined.

I think maybe this is a better platform to use on a computer than iPhone.

Curious if AI can help make the automatic books better. Still not quite right as far as getting the best pictures and the right layouts and themes for those pictures. Even on the Island theme, it didn’t seem able to identify pics from Guinness factory vs. pics from Cliffs of Moher.

I’ve made several mixbooks, and the quality on those are top notch! MixbookDesignPhotoBooks is easy to use, and the prices are reasonable. I see that an app is available for iPhone, but working on that small a screen is not ideal. Would love to see an app made for an iPad! That would be great for portability without having to use a small screen or lug around a laptop. Hope Mixbook will consider that soon!

Mixbook is out of this world. I have created several photo books and calendar and I am just amazed! Not only was it easy for me to upload my photos, it was even easier to create. There were so many outstanding features that I haven’t seen anywhere.

The SMART tools to assist with my captions was so helpful. I couldn’t believe that Mixbook gathered all my photos and knew which captions would assist! I loved them and then regenerated even more when I wasn’t feeling creative!

When it came to themes it was so organized and many to choose from. Oftentimes, I would pray that my creation was as gorgeous as it looked on the screen…that was the best part! When they arrived the books and calendars were even more phenomenal than I had imagined! The quality was the best I’d ever seen and I’ve used a lot of different companies!

If your looking for a company that really cares and supports their customers Mixbook is the way to go! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to create even more!

I got MixbookDesignPhotoBooks while on our Hawaii vacation. I wanted a way to create a daily picture diary of the trip but didn’t want to wait to get back home as I would probably forget many of the smaller moments. I spent 5 minutes each evening adding my favorite pics and by the end of the trip I had my book. It was so easy and fun to make and it looks great! I’ll probably turn it into a ritual on all vacations going forward.

I love MixbookDesignPhotoBooks and website, its very easy to use. My only wish is that it was more iPad friendly instead of just having a good fit for a phone. If MixbookDesignPhotoBooks expanded to fill the whole screen and just integrated more with the iPad I would love it even more. That is my only grievance, bc I don’t have a macbook and my photos only sync to my iPad, and having a bigger workspace would be much nicer.

I ordered a book that I wanted to use as a guest book for my daughter’s first birthday. When I placed the order, I saw that even with paying for the fastest shipping, it was going to be a day late. I chatted customer service just to see if there was any way it could be delivered on time. I ended up having something come up and didn’t chat them back. They followed up with an email and said that they would do what they could to get the book delivered in time. The book came in two days before her party which is three days before it was expected to be delivered. I’m so relieved and so happy with my experience! This is the seventh book I’ve ordered through Mixbook and seventh that I have been more than satisfied with! Shoutout to Cassandra for being an awesome customer service rep!

The easiest way to create a book on the site is to use MixbookDesignPhotoBooks not the computer. I found it easy to upload photos directly from my phone. The intricacies of changing the sticker colors were not so easy to figure out. However, setting background paper and arranging photos was an intuitive process with the icons provided at the bottom of the page.

My first time using and the end results were beyond my expectations!! The hard bound cover is sturdy & very professional looking. The inside papers are of great quality and what you’d expect in an expensive, high quality book which really makes the pictures “pop”. I created a Dedication page plus included two pages of the Itinerary of our trip - My mom had happy tears when she saw her very own book. You aided me in creating two VERY SPECIAL “souvenirs” that we each treasure!

This was my first time creating a book of photos. It was a memorial for my Dad who died earlier this year. The online app was so simple to use and uploading photos was easy and fast.
I just received the books today, one day earlier than promised, and they are gorgeous!
I loved the results so much that I just placed an order for some cards to use at his memorial. This time I used the mobile app and that was also very easy to use. Mixbook will be my go to for this kind of product. I actually tried a few other company websites before I found Mixbook. The programs/apps on those other well known companies had issues so I gave up on them. I’m so glad I kept looking and found Mixbook. I couldn’t be more pleased with the whole experience! I love MixbookDesignPhotoBooks. Simply upload your pictures(which, when uploaded in 4K, stay, and print, in 4K.) then use one of numerous layouts, frames, and add-ons to make your project your own. We love making our hard cover, think lay-flat page picture books of our adventures, for our 1 year old. It’s the perfect set-up for him to not rip the pages, and the pages are super high quality. The whole thing is a little pricey. But sign up with your email, and they send you plenty of 35%-50%/free shipping type coupons. That makes it affordable too. Really it has a decent UI/UX experience. 👌🏼👌🏼 Good job Mixbook! Thank you!

I am used to older processing apps, and this one was not the easiest to change around on my own. However, the many team members who came to my assistance numerous times throughout my quest to get this book right gave it a five star rating! They were all spot on!

I also loved that when completed (I thought) they told me to go and check again and at that time, I added the finishing touches of backgrounds and stickers.
It was a mite pricey for someone on limited income, but it will be a wonderful gift for my sister who sadly lost a daughter.

Just had my first experience with Mixbook and I couldn’t be more pleased. I had just rage quit shutterfly for deleting yet another time taking project and thought Mixbook couldn’t be worse. Blown away with how user friendly it was- no limit on how many photos I could upload and it was easy to switch from working on my phone to my computer and I never lost any data. It took about a week before the 8 calendars I’d ordered were ready to ship, only took 2 days in the mail and they’re great quality. My only suggestion would be to make it easier to preview templates since I like to compare different options side by side. Will use again!

I love making photo books of all our vacations and my kid’s birthday’s. MixbookDesignPhotoBooks has made it so easy to upload and organize my photos and make books. Sometimes it take a bit of time to upload but every time I do it seems to get faster. Definitely the best app available for photo products.

I must say that I have used a few apps for creating photo books and this one is Sooooo user- friendly! The layout designs are excellent and the option of allowing for adjusting photo sizes, zooming in, modifying the layout, adding backgrounds, fonts, stickers etc…so many options!! Highly recommend this company and MixbookDesignPhotoBooks it provides!

I’ve been traveling more these days — and with others… we love making Mixbooks to create permanent physical memories of our trips and fun times together. It was so easy to find photos that I captured on my last trip to make a book. This photo view is so helpful that I have been using it to look back at trips from years ago. The recommended photos option is pretty cool, too since I never have the time to delete outtakes from camera roll anymore. Such a helpful app!

I’m a photography lover. I have been printing from my cellphone for a while, but is a bit of annoying to have to go through my email, than to have to do the rest of the steps.
Today I’m really happy to know that mix book finally has and app.
I haven’t try it yet.! But I hope is as easy as the traditional way. To keep rating 5 stars.

I used this program a couple A few years ago to create wonderful memories of my parents while they were alive. Today, two years later I went in and edited that book, enlarged it and printed my second copy as I needed another one and everything I needed was there all my photos, my original order….. wonderful program great customer service recommended 10 stars

This was an outstanding App. It was easy to use. I love adding color to the pages. Easy to upload pictures. If you mess up there is a place to undo or redo without starting over. I am not computer savvy and I did it. Looking forward to making more books. Highly recommend. The customer service was excellent. I contacted them before purchasing, just to make sure I was ordering the right book.

I finally got to making a couple books from summer trips to Aruba and Napa, and it was so cool to see all my photos organized into collections from each trip. Made it super easy to start and automatically filled my book in literally 3 minutes. Made a few tweaks and done! The books turned out beautifully and I ended up ordering copies to gift to my friends from our trip to Napa together. Love!!

The new AutoMagic Creation feature makes it even simpler and more inspiring to start telling the story of my vacations! It’s always so exciting to receive my books in the mail and have a tangible way to relive the experiences I’ve collected. Photobooks make wonderful gifts too. The latest book I made was of my friends’ wedding. I gave it to them for their first anniversary and they loved it!!

MixbookDesignPhotoBooks has improved 1000% since I used it last year. I loved the product I received that it was very clunky to use and it took me forever. This year he app was very easy to use and intuitive.I ran into one issue and reached out to customer service chat even though it was after hours because I’m on the East Coast and lost track of time. Not only did John answer after hours but he continue to work with me for an hour to resolve all of my issues and was very professional and friendly! I will definitely recommend all of my friends. By using Mixbook’s app, I don’t lose the metadata on my photos which makes it much easier for me to sort my photos chronologically in my Mixbook projects! MixbookDesignPhotoBooks also has all the same great customization features of the desktop version and makes edit my projects on the go easy and fun!
