App works fine. Major complaint is it doesn't save timer data as part of the reps. So I have no idea how long my holds are across workouts. Maybe I'm missing where that is but it's a major design flaw.
Extremely helpful app for tracking. Love the timers and the explanations of exercises, most of which have photos and links to videos. Great stuff. My only complaint is that the graphics choice for the numbers (reps, seconds, etc) is illegible. I’m not sure if this was an aesthetic choice, or a bug with iOS, but I can’t find a way to change it in settings, and it definitely detracts from the overall utility.
It would be awesome if there were some visualization of your progress. Also, I don’t see any way to back up my data; does this backup to the iCloud? I’m unsure.
8x3 works great. The timer function doesn’t have any sound so it can be easy to loose track of when you’ve finished if you can’t easily see the screen. Some of the exercises don’t have a photo , or text on the screen to know what to do so you might have to remember from the up next info.
If you’re into body weight fitness, and want to put the progression of the book Overcoming Gravity into use, 8x3 easily lets you progress through the exercises while retaining EVERYTHING! It even lets you continue your workout weeks later if you stopped in the middle. AMAZING APP! I never write reviews, but 8x3 deserved it. Ever have a feeling like, “If I could program, I’d made an app that does THIS…” THIS IS THAT APP! 😎💪🫡
Great job you guys, I love it! I especially love the automatic timer between sets. I use 8x3 almost every time I do the Reddit recommended routine
Easy to use, shows progressions, has a timer. So much easier than trying to figure out the RR on Reddit. 8x3 is awesome!!
Such a well designed and smooth app. Better workout logging (streaks for example) and it’ll be perfect. Home run, my friend.
I love 8x3, it keeps me consistent and I just its nonintrusive and easy to use. For the first time in ten years I’m being consistent with my calisthenics routine :)
Clutter free and works well, keeps you on track and love the progressions selector.
Wish we could have the ability to rotate pair orders, like ABC, BCA, CAB so that we are at fullest strength during different exercises throughout the week or month.
Charting or graph feature and condensing the history page so that it fits neatly into one screenshot for sharing would be nice too!
Thanks for 8x3 !
there was a way to download the videos/pics for data free viewing! Would make it a 6 star vid all the way.
I’ve tried every RR app and this one blows them all away. One of the best apps I’ve used in any category and it’s free! Nice job on this one and thank you!
Downloaded 8x3 specifically for keeping a record of my progress in the Reddit body weight fitness recommended program. It has the exact amount of functionality I was looking for - nothing extra. Smooth and bug free. Built in timer. Videos of exercises. Progression maps. If you're here for that program, this is 8x3 .
THIS is EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! I love how you can change the exercises as you progress. I used to have such a hard time with the spreadsheets from reddit, this is just perfect.
Has all the progressions, easy selections, runs you through the whole workout with a nice timer, makes it all super easy.
My one request would be adding weights (esp. for squat and deadlift). I know I know, it’s body weight fitness. But sometimes a lil extra helps!
Excellent for the Reddit recommended workout. Like the best interval workout timer out there by far. It’s quick and easy to log reps and works very smooth.
Would be better if it allowed the creation of customized workouts. Hopefully this comes in the future.
8x3 will not spoon feed the routine to you, nor is it its purpose. So do your homework – google “reddit recommended routine”, watch the videos, THEN download 8x3 . You’ll be happy and strong.
For the RR, it its perfect as-is – if the hero developer who is doing this for free accepts a suggestion – consider adding the beginner and primer routines too :)
Hello! I would like the ability to add notes to each specific work out. For example, on pull ups i started adding weight. But i will forget if I don't have a note of the weight somewhere. I am using the notes app but it would be nice if it was integrated into 8x3 as well. Thank you for this amazing app!
This is a little early to give a comprehensive review. A little fidgety to navigate. I am making progress. The videos are a bit scattered as I go to several different you tube pages to understand what and how to perform. Sometimes the instructions in the program differ from what is shown in the video.
Great framework. Getting me back in shape. I like the options for the short or long workouts.
