UAFXControl itself is an absolute pain to use with the OX STOMP. Precise adjustments are impossible to achieve with the sliders. Even more frustrating is how difficult it is to demo different sounds. — Want to spend 30 seconds trying out a cab? Oops, the phone went to sleep and now UAFXControl has disconnected from the pedal. Please start over — The OX BOX has a desktop app. It is ridiculous that the OX STOMP does not.

Again spent two hours trying to get the UA lion set up. Tried to set up the firmware and spent an hour loading installing UA connect on my PC. Pace took 15 minutes alone to install. Pace did not appear like it wanted to connect with UA connect took several attempts and then finally completed install on PC connected with UA Connect and allowed the firmware updates. Tried to connect with pedal with iPhone 15 Pro Max with latest iOS 17.1 with no luck. Tried my iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 14.8 and it was able to connect and install the presets … went back to the iPhone 15 Pro and it was finally able to connect. UA has provided no instructions on this install. Very Sloppy Engineering if you asked me. Firmware and preset and registration should not take two hours and two iPhones. Unbelievable!

You spend $800 on a Lion 68 and Ox Stomp, register and update your pedals, stoked to start learning them and hear some sounds and UAFXControl crashes on every attempt. This is a well documented problem online and I took a chance only to be let down. Boxing them back up and sending them back.

I have always shied away from pedals that need app support, maybe I’m old school. I can see why UAFXControl has such bad ratings. Just received the brand new Enigmatic and UAFXControl is just frozen. I was initially able to connect the pedal to my phone via Bluetooth and the pedal loaded the presets as I expected however, since then I cannot access the pedal through UAFXControl , despite disconnecting from power multiple times, reestablishing, the Bluetooth connection, and closing and reopening UAFXControl , if this doesn’t improve immediately, this thing is going right back to Sweetwater.

Not only is UAFXControl unusable, but it's rendered the pedal unusable as well.

I have the UA Dream65, and I was using it without issue yesterday, then came back today and it does not work. I touched nothing, changed nothing, but when I open UAFXControl it says to plug in the pedal to update. It's annoying, but sure. I update the pedal but now when I open UAFXControl it crashes every time I try to select the pedal.

Now there's nothing but static coming out. I could live with a poorly functioning app, but I cannot live with an app that renders the pedal useless

what I don’t understand is with such consistently horrible reviews, United audio doesn’t seem to be making any changes or exerting any effort to address the situation. I would caution anybody from buying these products. They’ll probably abandon UAFXControl entirely when they have their next new idea, they are likely to become very expensive boat anchors.

I have multiple UAFX pedals and to be fair, they sound great. Unfortunately UAFXControl is a joke. The idea is cool if it ever works. I have a delverb it used to see but now doesn’t. I have a brand new lion that UAFXControl sees and refuses to connect to no matter how much I follow the troubleshooting instructions. The connectivity is almost non existent and therefore UAFXControl is useless. Pretty crazy for the price point of the pedals

I just updated my galaxy to the latest firmware and now the pedal has become a $300 paperweight. I’ve tried unpairing the Bluetooth from my phone, plugging into the computer and resetting via the online instructions. For pedals that are in this price range I’d never expect the tech issues. The 3 lights on the head select just flash red and I’m not getting any lights from the effects buttons. I have opened a ticket with UA but I would strongly advise against these pedals based on the connectivity issues. On the up side when the pedal works it sounds great. I was really looking forward to the reverb always on update.

Great sounding pedal however Bluetooth is really sketch!! Pedal connected initially then was lost. I’ve spend several days trying to get Bluetooth back. Not successful as yet!

Everyone knows these issues with the Bluetooth connectivity exist but for whatever reason it seems to never be fixed. Great products but make UAFXControl better - you must have great software developers for all of the plugins you have for sale.

If you’re going to charge $400 for top quality pedals, you need an app that actually WORKS! When it does connect it’s fine (that’s the second star), but most of the time the poor Bluetooth connectivity prevents you from using the features of your gear. Absolutely no way you could gig with this 😡

Biggest problem is it often takes forever to connect and often loses connection. Doesn’t matter if I’m using my iPhone or iPad. The other issue is with the Enigmatic pedal is there are some differences what you can adjust on the pedal and what in UAFXControl . Love the pedal, but app needs work

What UAFXControl needs is the ability to edit settings in UAFXControl (like the Ox Stomp implementation). Needs the ability to connect to all pedals that are powered up and Bluetooth connected - - add tab pages for each pedal and allow the user to quickly go between pedals. Give the user more options to load more then 1 preset into the pedal, or open up the interface to connect to a midi floor pedal that could then bring midi into the UAFX and then UAFX connect to the pedal.

Congratulations if you just bought a UA pedal but be prepared for all of the frustration using this terrible app. For the cost of the pedals there should not be this many issues. I own two Starlights because UA doesn’t have ability for midi/ presets. I wish they would have worked out all of the bugs…constantly having to forget my device and pair again…power down and re-pair the device over and over. Their recording software is wonderful. Eventide has a great functional app. Please fix UAFX

I ran into a really frustrating situation last month. I sank a lot of money into a Del-Verb to lighten the load on my pedalboard. Quality of FX is very impressive, amazing stuff, yada yada.

Now to the very frustrating part. I updated my phone to the latest version of Control but not my iPad. The problems I had with the pedal not connecting and the iPad not holding the presets on screen drove me in-f’ing-sane. I contacted UA, I contacted Sweetwater, I even called my mom. I finally figured out that my iPad was not on the latest UA Control version. It usually requires the pedal to be updated too. I updated both and voila. Everything worked.

For your sanity, if you see your UA Control device has an update, check the UA website under the firmware section and see what the latest version is. You will thank me and you’ll get to keep yourself from tearing your hair out.

Excited to play around with these new presets made by UA, as well as the additional presets from five musicians. Having a buffered bypass toggle is great. I wish UAFXControl showed the dial values of each preset, so I can have a better idea of what it’s doing and so I can replicate them when in live mode. Great update!

I just bought the Enigmatic and downloaded UAFXControl . The Bluetooth sunk up easily and all the controls worked well from my phone to the device.

I had the pedal sounding fairly decent on its own but the extra features on UAFXControl were essential for getting it fine tuned.

Love the new updates to the pedals, having a library for factory and user presets is just what I wanted plus there’s a lot of improvements for the footswitches. Great job!

Using UAFXControl with the MAX Preamp & Compressor pedal. Bluetooth connects quickly and reliably on both my iPhone and iPad. UAFXControl works as expected with useful features. No issue updating firmware from my MacBook Pro (took only 2 minutes - quick). Overall, very happy with the pedal and UAFXControl. One feature request - on the iPad version, support both portrait and landscape mode. I gig with my iPad and it would be nice not to have to rotate from landscape mode, to use UAFXControl easily. Beyond that - great job UA.

I was super happy with the usability. I found the pedal and synced it easily. The presets were super tasteful. Very pleased with the entire experience.
