LGSoundbar is minimum effort garbage that may work for you if you are lucky. For context, I'm trying to use it to configure an SP9YA soundbar.
To be clear, my desired result of using LGSoundbar is to have the bar connected to my wifi so that I can use it as an AirPlay speaker or whatever. LGSoundbar doesn't let you do much configuration that you can't do with the bar's remote, and the stuff unique to LGSoundbar seems of marginal benefit (at best) anyway.
So what's the problem? Well, the process of booting up LGSoundbar , connecting to the bar via Bluetooth, and getting it to connect to your wifi is poorly documented, poorly presented in the UI, and *incredibly* flaky. The first time I tried, it took ~5 tries and then worked for no apparent reason; then my cat somehow managed to factory reset the bar by walking over the buttons and then it took me ~10 tries to get it to connect again. There was no discernible difference between these attempts, and it's clear that the bar has no fundamental issue with being connected to my wifi, so what's the problem? Well, that's something only LG can figure out, and they obviously don't care.
Seriously, it's bad. Steer clear unless you *really* want to be able to AirPlay to your LG soundbar. And if you proceed past this point, may God have mercy on your soul.
