Firstcard suddenly went from free to requiring a monthly subscription, thus I wanted to close my account. I am not going to pay monthly for what is essentially a debit card with extra hassle. In the time before the subscription was to take effect, I had numerous issues trying to close my account. I even contacted customer support and they we not helpful at all, telling me to do things I had already tried. I finally had a balance of $0 after waiting ages for the automatic payment to process, then I earned $0.01 of interest and couldn’t close my account because of it!!!! To get rid of this one cent I had to transfer in more money from my bank account so that I could transfer it all out. But then some of that money disappeared when I got charged the subscription fee since I have been unsuccessful in closing my account!!

Seems like this company is making it as hard to close one’s account as possible so that they can rip people off by charging their subscription fee. Definitely would not recommend this “credit card”.

This card was very appealing at first and I went through the effort of putting my information in to get started. I get a message that my info is processing and that it usually takes one minute for most users. I’ve been staring at the screen for more than 20 minutes and it still says the same message. Checked my wifi, restarted Firstcard , same thing. Instant turn-off.

This is by far the worst experience with any financial institution/account. “Customer Service” Does not care about you or if you can access your money. Blocks transactions and declines transfers out repeatedly. Only option for a physical card is to pay for one that takes forever to ship.

I asked if there is a way to activate my card , and I get no response they usually take 1-2 days to respond but it’s been almost a week. When I try to activate my card I get a error message. I’m unable to unlink my account (which I no longer have access to) and they can’t help me at all. I have money stuck on my account and I can’t even get it off. Support is not even trying to help me.

I can’t say whether I like this card yet or not. I received my physical card, but can’t get it to activate and I can not get a hold of anyone with support.

Would highly recommend this app to any international student looking for the best card to start building credit in the US. This credit builder takes effect on your credit in what feels like instantly. They report in absolute detail in regards of your current status of your account with them. I’ve seen improvement to my credit in only a short time when I initially opened my account with them. If you’re looking to improve your credit, trust me this Credit Builder card is definitely worthy.
