Bugs, bugs, bugs.

I’ve been wondering how long it would take this app to put out a app, I’m actually shocked it’s taken this long. I was hoping that if they had an App that it wouldn’t be as glitchy/buggy to use as their online shop has been for years but here we are. It keeps asking me if I want to log into my account even though I’m already logged in. It seems to lead me to “blank pages” a lot. In account info, it let me edit everything but my birthday, which for some reason was showing blank, I thought I had filled this out ages ago online, but every time I try to tap the box, I’m given no cursor or keyboard. It was lagging and getting frozen trying to enter my location. Navigating around the “store” has been slow and glitchy. Every time I try to filter searches it leads me to a page that shows me the number of items that should be in my filter search but otherwise a blank page. Back under account, when I tried to take a look at what payment info I had listed, it would again take me to a broken page. My iPhone is pretty new, I’m only one update behind the current (just got a notification to update in the last 72 hours) I always restart my phone after a new App instal🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ll list anymore bugs I find if I can muster the Focus to keep trudging through Madewell.

Useless

First off let me say I am glad that you have an app but if you’re gonna have a app it needs to be functional. Here are the things that I dislike about Madewell. 1. when you go into your account and try to look at your orders it sends you out of Madewell to the main website where you have to login. Now does that really make sense? The whole reason you have an app is it’s so you can do all this on Madewell or am I wrong? 2. I have things put in my favorites and after I buy them I take them off my favorites or if I’m dis interested in the item . But Madewell does not let you unlike the items . It will unlike a few of the favorites but most of my favorites that need to be taken off are still there and will not come off. very frustrating ! 3. Your app is not user-friendly. I did the latest update and honestly I don’t know what it updated. So with that being said I will remove my app from my phone .

Useless

I completely agree with previous reviews, I find Madewell very frustrating and difficult to navigate. Madewell offers limited search options/selection, does not provide promotional sale banners, and constantly logs you out. I’ve checked back several times hoping the issues would be resolved but it’s lack of functionality appears to be the same. You’re better off shopping the website. But even the website has its flaws. My online cart is constantly full of items I’ve previously purchased, checking out takes forever as I have to delete every item individually. The website constantly logs me out during shopping session as well. Very frustrating to complete a purchase, takes way longer than it should. It’s pretty laughable JCrew/this app can’t manage to provide decent tech. I wish it was a smooth app shopping experience comparable to Anthropologie or Free People.

Needs improvement

I am a long time this app customer and was extremely excited about Madewell. A couple of flaws were noticeable right away from a user experience standpoint. Madewell logs you out so anything that you add to your cart is no longer there for some reason. You can log into your account and then it will immediately log you out. Different areas of the clothing categories don’t mirror what’s on the browser website, for example, the sale section or most any section doesn’t have a “view all” option. You actually miss a lot of product by using Madewell versus using the browser. Lastly this app‘s website is very good about displaying a banner concerning promotions and sales and Madewell doesn’t even take that into account. So far I feel more comfortable using the browser and not Madewell . I use an Apple phone.

Buggy and Unreliable

I’ve tried giving Madewell so many chances, but the log in and checkout are completely useless and not reliable. There’s been instances where I’ve added 1 item to my cart and it’ll add multiple instead of just 1 quantity. If there is a promotion where you have to log in to view the discount applied in the cart/checkout the discount is never applied - I’ve double checked that I am indeed logged into Madewell . My expedited shipping option isn’t reflected even though I have Icon tier status. And why do you make us go to the website from Madewell to log in to view our order history? Defeats the purpose of an app. If you’re going to send me to the website then I’ll just use the website for everything. App is too buggy it’s frustrating. Horrible UX. App not made well - the irony.

Really frustrating

Madewell is one of the most frustrating shopping apps. You get emails telling you insiders can get access to early events by using Madewell but upon going to Madewell you can’t access your insider status. When you sign into your account it briefly shows your account information and then pops right back out to the sign in screen, never really allowing you access to your account. When trying to shop it’ll show that there are 105 new arrivals and you will see about 20 and you hit the load more button and it will immediately take you to 90 something without showing you the 90 some new items. Madewell never works properly no matter how often it is updated. I only use the website now and am deleting this so I no longer waste storage space.

Very poor user experience

Madewell is just not good. Does not recognize when a user is logged in, even after logging in; when searching or even using navigation from homepage, returns blank pages (white) or pages that will not completely load; does not sync with account (purchase was made on desktop, yet cart in app still shows all the items already purchased—no matter how many times I delete them, there they are when opening Madewell ); now the reset password option doesn’t even work, just stalls out after entering email address.

UPDATE: Where a few weeks ago, any item added to the cart would magically double in quantity, now Items added to the cart do not even show up in the cart.

Come on, this app, this is terrible to the point of embarrassing.

Bugs and not happy

Excited to try when I see this app finally has an app. Made my first order. 1st it had issue with my card, I was not able to submit the order. Ok I checked my card info and resubmitted. It submitted but somehow the system submitted the order twice. The qty of each item from my order changed from 1 to 2. Of course my payment is doubled. I always check before I made an order. I swear the qty was one before I made the order. I’m an icon and able to use overnight shipping. They are not to change my order because of the overnight shipping. Only way is to receive the order and return them. I don’t think I will make another order through Madewell . Not happy at all.

Super Disappointed

I very rarely take the time to write reviews, but things need to be said about Madewell. I LOVE this app—hands down my favorite place to shop for clothes, but I am very disappointed with Madewell . On two separate occasions I have made purchases—and have been charged—for orders that never went through. I followed the prompt all the way to “your order is complete,”but never received a confirmation email. I contacted customer service and they were unable to locate my order although I was charged. I understand it happening once, but twice? There is a major disconnect between purchases through Madewell and linked accounts. I will no longer be using Madewell for online purchases. Super bummed.

Such a bad tech product

I really love this app as a brand, but your digital experience both web and app makes it so hard to shop, that I actually avoid it. Filters that are cleared once I scroll down, constant issues logging in to my account (meaning I log in and can view my account dashboard for 1 or 2 seconds, then somehow and kicked back out again). Madewell constantly crashes. I’ve had SO many issues having rewards and coupons applied where I’ve had to had the price adjusted after the fact by a customer service associate. Please fix Madewell. I want to shop here more, but it’s just so frustrating.

Double order

I went in to place an order, edited payment and before I clicked place order, I saw my total was double the original total. Looking at the cart, everything was doubled. When I fixed that, and double checked everything again, my cart was loaded with things I had previously deleted. Then I placed the order and saw that my shipment delivery was divided between what I entered and two stores. Now I am on phone on hold with customer service to fix it. I should have just ordered through the website instead of Madewell. Complete waste of time that I cannot get back.

Love Madewell but really dislike this app

I am a loyal this app shopper and shop here fairly regularly. I like to use Madewell to browse styles if I’m away from my computer but it is so glitchy and unpleasant to use. Like other reviewers said, images fail to load and it freezes all the time. I am not sure why I even bother opening Madewell anymore. There are so many other store shopping apps out there that work seamlessly. Please fix yours!

Also, it would be great to be able to see/use the TrueFit feature through Madewell like on the site.

Frustratingly flawed

I love this app but their app is a constant source of annoyance. I don’t understand how they can’t get this right after so many terrible reviews. The things I find flawed:

1. The page will never fully load with pictures. No matter what kind of coverage I have, I have to exit Madewell at a certain point, reopen it, and try to navigate directly to the item I wanted to see in order to get any visual of the item.

2. It’s silly but why on the “Discover” tab would I click the picture instead of the words with “>” after it to navigate to that section?! It’s crazy!

3. No links to the remainder of the outfit depicted 😒 Why wouldn’t you want to make it easier for your customers to buy more of your product? Just doesn’t make sense.

Glitchy

The first time I used Madewell I couldn’t sign in I had lost my rewards and I couldn’t get them back. I had added stuff to my cart to buy later and I deleted a few things from my cart. Come to notice every time I open Madewell , the same items are in my cart. I cannot delete them from the cart or purchase from Madewell because it keeps items on my cart that I already deleted. I had to delete Madewell . I reinstalled it thinking it would work-same issue.

Wanted to love it

I wanted so bad to love like Madewell. I love this app and the idea of shooing from an app was exciting. However, since Madewell was released I haven’t been able to log into my account. I have waited months to see if this issue would be fixed and unfortunately it hasn’t.
I can honestly say I haven’t bought anything from this app since I am unable to shop under my account on Madewell .

Not great

I’ve been waiting for a this app app for ages but this just isn’t great. Removing items from your cart is impossible (most of the time) and you can’t add discount codes like you can on the this app website. Discount codes aren’t even advertised on Madewell and even if you enter the ones shown on their website, the discount won’t show up on Madewell . Overall, I find it way easier and faster to navigate the regular website than Madewell.

Website is Better

I downloaded Madewell and was extremely disappointed to find that when you choose a size for denim, there isn’t an option to choose length (petite, regular, tall). Unfortunate, because I love adding things to my “favorites” section and accessing it easily through Madewell when I’m ready to purchase. It’s a strange feature to not include in Madewell .

Love the brand, hate the bugs on the app.

Madewell (and website from my laptop for that matter) continues to forget what I removed from my basket. Not only that, when I try to log in, it instantly logs me back out. Now when I try to shop from Madewell it will not reflect what I’ve added to my bag. Please fix these bugs so our shopping experience can be smoother.

Terrible app, really buggy

Awful experiences using Madewell. Ranging from not being able to make purchases because Madewell won’t recognize my credit card payment, to actually losing rewards on orders that didn’t go through but Madewell somehow used up. Inventory in Madewell and on the website don’t match either. Madewell had so much potential to be a useful tool for shoppers but it is catastrophically bad.

Use the website

I was so excited for the this app app, until I actually downloaded it. You sign in and a moment later you’re logged out; it asks you the same survey over and over again because it never keeps you signed in; the browsing is difficult; there’s trouble in remember carts....it’s so bad. I love this app but with how much we all pay for your jeans you could probably afford better developers!

I’ve been waiting forever for a this app app. Find myself navigating back to the website because there’s no option to view all of a category. this app has definitely evolved for the times but I do miss the style a few years ago when it was more minimalist and androgynous. Used to be my go to for trendy work outfits but now half the tops are cropped

Great start, but needs some work

I could not be happier that this app finally made an app, but the functionality just isn’t quite there yet. First and foremost, the navigation is just way too many clicks. I like that everything is broken out but I would much rather click on a category and go to an overarching category page and specify from there, similar to how their site is.

Secondly, and the most irritating in my opinion, is there is no “view all” option for the categories!! For example if I go to dresses, it gives me ALLLL different subcategories for dresses but no option to simply view all. EXTREMELY frustrating from a user perspective.

Unusable

Spent a while browsing and adding stuff to my cart to sort through when I was ready to checkout. I went back to my cart and nothing was added. Madewell also will not let me sign in. It will sign in for one second and then sign right back out. Even if it did work it seems everybody’s order is getting messed up if they can order. Just use the browser

this app finally released an app. Great idea. Woeful application. Reiterate other user experiences—it doesn’t track well, tell you about current promotions and seems to redirect you during purchases. It’s odd, confusing and frustrating; it’s like it was launched and never tested.

Purchasing Issues — Beware!

Aside from the navigation flaws of Madewell (e.g. not being able to track purchases within Madewell , favorites are difficult to navigate, etc.), there is an obvious issue when it comes to PLACING and PROCESSING orders...

I placed and order and it was sent to my billing address rather than my shipping address (this was not an issue when I just used Safari or Google Chrome. Then, I placed an order for an item that rang up to be the expected price. However after checkout, I noticed the piece was doubled and and that the product was duplicated in my order somehow. I attempted to reach out to this app to no avail. The item was final sale. So, they are not taking responsibility if you experience issues with purchasing in-app.

My suggestion is to only make purchases on your browser to avoid these issues.

Looks great, but...

App looks just like the website, but there are so many buttons to push just to get to clothes! The nested nav just seems a little too long, especially for categories like New Arrivals that only have one option to choose from! I also wish there was a way to look through all clothes, not just a category like jeans or sweaters.

Also Discover tab got stuck on Loading Inbox for a while, and it being the landing screen, it was a little hard to tell if the bottom nav would work if there was loading happening. For context, I went in as a guest.

Overall, will keep Madewell and will browse, but not the best shopping app experience I’ve ever had.

Excited for app, but app needs work

I was so excited to see that this app launched its own app! Long overdue...

But, I’ve been having constant issues with Madewell . There are a lot of bugs - like SOMETIMES I can’t remove things from my shopping cart. And SOMETIMES the option to checkout doesn’t work so I can’t buy. On occasion Madewell works flawlessly.

My thoughts:

- would like to be able to look at ALL items instead of having to select a specific option such as “pants” or “tops”. Especially when shopping sale items!

- Madewell only shows photos of the small size models - I am a size 32 and like to see the photos of the models that wear my size.

I am positive that with some updates this will be a great app! I’m just grateful that after all this time this app finally made an app - it’s my favorite store lol

Wanted to love, but...

For whatever reason my cart just doesn’t refresh. At first I would remove the item, and it still appeared in my cart but the qty was zero. Which, cool. But if I closed Madewell and came back? The qty appeared as 1. Which was strange. Had a real buggy experience trying to remove items that have sold out as well. Old items I’ve deleted multiple times reappear after I’ve closed Madewell (and powered down my phone). I’ve had to delete Madewell and download again (now on my third round). And past items I’ve deleted still appear in my cart. At this rate, it’s easier to login to the site on mobile and shop.

A flop

Madewell itself has many issues like payment and some items are able to be seen on the website but not on Madewell . The tabs of each category is separated and not able to click see all so you have to one by one which makes it less appealing to shop. If you put something in your cat and try to remove it from your cart it will stay or you have to close Madewell and still most times it comes back into your cart! Despite J crew being a larger company the is a extremely disappointed app that turns users away from shopping with this app.

Finally! A Madewell App! Great to have but needs work...

I’ve been hoping for a this app app for years! I was so excited to see it is finally available - but there’s room for improvement. The UI is very clunky, and I’ve experienced several crashes. The way categories nest when shopping requires too many clicks, and I think adding a “shop all” button would make shopping on Madewell more enjoyable. My other wishlist item is with the sign-in. You can’t ask Madewell to remember you and I’ve had to log in every time. Having Apple ID to get in would be awesome.

Problems with signing in

I’ve been soooo looking forward to this app coming out with an app, and when it finally happened, I was ecstatic. However, one problem I have is that I normally use Facebook to log into my account with this app, and unfortunately, theres no option to do that in Madewell . And I don’t want to create another account just to log into Madewell . Hope they are able to find a solution around this soon!
