As you know, unless your bike supports GymKit (and many don’t), starting a cycling workout on Apple Watch leaves much to be desired. It only shows your heart rate, total time, and calories burned. Even if your bike tracks distance, cadence, power, or more, you’re out of luck. You either need to find a subscription app or manually enter your data.
Enter this app! Not only does it recognize your bike, but it captures more metrics than the manufacturer’s app. It logs all of this in Apple Health AND in the Workout app!
But that’s not the best part. By buying QZ, you get an amazing developer who’s willing to answer all your questions and help you configure QZ to your needs. I don’t know any other developer who does this.
My setup:
Yesoul M1
Apple Watch Ultra 2
iPhone 13 Pro
My challenge:
The Yesoul app doesn’t write any of the important metrics to the Workout app or Apple Health. I didn’t have anything beyond time, calories, and heart rate, so it was pretty much no different from the Apple Watch workout app.
I tried Kinomap. It captured the metrics but wouldn’t show the bike’s resistance. And after 14 days, it required a subscription.
this app was a one-time purchase, and now I have everything my bike is capturing. I can see details and trends. The possibilities with QZ are limitless. The settings can be overwhelming, but Roberto patiently answered all of my questions. I couldn’t be happier.
