Ohio Trails - DETOUR Reviews

Tried to favorite a trail for Mohican and it wouldn’t work.
I am a hiker and nature photographer. I have been using a combination of All Trails and The OH division of wildlife Hunt Fish OH apps to search and plan my nature adventures around NE Ohio. It would be nice to have all this info in one place. A map that highlights public lands, an overall location/park map, and the detailed trail maps. For instance, if I search Mohican State Park, it would bring up a map of that location showing public lands and all trails. It would list the trails below, where you could tap on each one to get further info on that trail and a detailed map of said trail.
I look forward to your future updates and the ability to use offline....as some locations are no service areas and I have to fill my phone full of screenshots of maps.
I do like all the details and descriptions given of the trails. You’re on the right track. 😊

I love the idea of OhioTrails! Not user friendly for searching for hikes if you don’t already know the name of the trail. You also can’t search near locations, only a radius from a current location. Great idea, needs work

My wife and I do horse trail maintenance in a few different counties. We’ve tried numerous times during trail maintenance and riding it’s accurate. I’ve Used it at stone church, hocking, and Dillon. That has some good some features if they can get it working properly. It would make it a great app.

I’ve created an account with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources so I could log into OhioTrails. Unfortunately the ArcGIS login, which is where I’m directed to log in, doesn’t recognize my user ID or my password. I’ve tried using the ‘I forgot my User ID’ and ‘I forgot my password’ to get an email with instructions .. nothing has worked. So I’ll delete OhioTrails and hope that at some point in the future the Ohio Department of Natural Resources fixes it.

Really good at tracking where I am with a detailed and named view of the trail. Currently cannot download areas for offline use, it's an option in OhioTrails it just doesn't appear to actually save anything

Edit- latest update makes OhioTrails unusable, can't search trails or download. Really buggy, hey but at least they got me to sign in with my OH|ID 🙄

I’m sure it’s a very nice app to use, but I couldn’t seem to get any trails to come up when searching. Needs more work to make trails searchable/more intuitive/user friendly.

Another example of a government agency attempting a project that the private sector has already succeeded.

OhioTrails does not work. Will not display trails that are nearby in the middle of a State Park. I have tried at multiple State Parks. It locks up constantly. Leave it to a government agency (ODNR) to screw something up royally.

Very disappointed that the majority of the trails I use are not included on OhioTrails . I would like to be able to reach CVNP and find trails.
