Falls very short of the goal it has. It constantly crashes and cuts out even though I have it in the best possible spot for connection. I’m the only one that uses it too. The weather is not bad either. I hope it continues to improve because in its current state very disappointing.
After 2+ months of use I can say firmly not worth the money if you have any other providers. It’s high starting price and inconsistent coverage makes it almost unbearable. Really struggles to make up for that $600+ starting fee.

When the this app Router is connected, Starlink will let you control a few things. Considering it is all in Beta testing, I really didn’t expect full control yet. But if you have and or need to use a third party router, Starlink thinks the Dishy is not connected and up and running. Horse Hockey. Some people can play with the settings and get it to work with their personal third-party routers, but it should not be necessary to do that at all. Starlink should see that it’s connected to the this app satellite dish and show you all the appropriate information since it’s coming from the dish itself and not the router. So that is a bad this app. If and when they ever fix that issue, Starlink will be rated five stars. Until then I had to give them three, but I was actually looking at two Stars.

This probably isn’t fair because I just ordered the system but the addressing system is not right. It uses preselected service addresses and doesn’t allow corrections. The default shipping address allows for the correct address but you have to tell the system that you know it is correct. So my service address ends up being in a totally different county at a post office that doesn’t service my area. Hopefully that isn’t where the bill goes, I’ll never get it. Anyhow there’s no way to correct the service address in the system that I’ve found. This really does need looked into. Thanks. I’m sure I’ll give a better review once the equipment arrives. I’m very impatient. LOL...

Can’t get Comcast, hate Hughesnet, dsl was horrible service.
I have a Verizon mobile hotspot, its signal gets distributed thru a Mac mini, that shares its wireless to Ethernet, which I have 3 wireless devices hooked to. I have 5 high definition cams hooked to it. Slow as $&@/ but it does work.
Cannot wait for real internet access.
5 stars when I get the service.

I’m an IT admin and I’m floored. I came to set this satellite service up for a family who lives a rural, desert location and I expected it to be a slight improvement over their existing satellite internet provider who I CONSTANTLY heard complaints about but I couldn’t do anything (I’m not an ISP and the cable and phone companies won’t drop service here). They finally got into this this app program and now I want it! The transparency, simplicity, and the SERVICE are GREAT! This should be what the other ISP’s are copying because I want visibility to know when my home’s last network outage occurred and the duration. Instead of guessing network speeds, they provide the testing tools right instead Starlink . It’s great!
Since I am an IT Admin, I will say that I wish there were some MORE router configuration options available (like guest wireless, child safety tools, etc.) but NONE of that is a priority over the current tools that this app has provided here. Those are only things that could bog services and hardware down over time, so I’ll gladly take this setup and hope that they keep their foot on the pedal to become the next big ISP!

Elon Musk you have truly made the world happy I know for one thing that you have given me actual hope of having good internet. Relying off of phone lines for internet and only getting downloads speeds of 1-3mbps if even that on one device is truly and disappointment and seeing how the fiber optic internet situation we are having in my are with them going down half my road and stoping and coming from the other side of my road only the the edge causes some serious lag. For example, call of duty games have always been my favorite and now that internet requires faster speeds to function anymore has caused me to ultimately slow down on gaming almost to where I never wanna play anymore. And this app has given me enough hope to rekindle my love for gaming. With this I also plan to build my first Pc and join a new community of gamers after being an xbox fan for so long. Thank you and please never stop innovating you are truly the best man on earth with a wonderful purpose in life.

I live in the middle of nowhere northern Idaho and internet has been a long term challenge... this thing took 3 minutes to set up, literally, and while we will see what coverage looks like around the clock, right now it just clocked off at 64 up / 16 down with 35ms lag. Wow. Impressed and the network is still being built. Well done guys.

For just Starlink , this is pretty great. Just getting stats for the connection was a vast improvement vs my other ISP. So much easier to self diagnose issues now. Especially with the new screen not just showing that you have an obstruction but showing the direction of that obstruction. If it is this good now, super excited for the next iterations.

This will dynamically change the way people live in the world because people will be able to access full spectrum broadband from anywhere in the world along with a solar panel this puts you in business anywhere in the jungle or on top of the mountains I look forward so much to using this and hope to work forSpaceX and specifically this app one day...

I, like many of you will continue to support any and all endeavors it takes to continue humanitarian efforts into the future. I will financially support this company and it’s future as much as I am able. Anything to have another option other than Comcast. I am signed up for the early beta testing program! Hoping to be chosen soon!!

this app’s service is amazing and everyone should give it a try! The speed and latency are unmatched by any other satellite internet company. Starlink is also very helpful in finding the right place to put the receiver and set up the materials. The only potential problem I see is that they don’t have a support number to call and talk to a human, but I foresee them updating this in the future. Not all of us are equal in our technological abilities.

We live in a rural part of Wisconsin where literally the phone company can’t provide internet. Even the worst. Only option is low grade hotspot
Due to covid, my two sons have to try and learn from school. Having to learn while physically isolated through machines is not good, with poor internet it is cruel. Like duck hunting through a chimney.
They found out about this app. We literally have been praying for it to get off the ground (pun intended) and be picked for beta.

Recently widowed, 74yo, fixed income and dependent on the internet for a large part of my income. Like so many others, I’ve been ground up and spit out by the few rural providers available to me. Slow speed and being charged average of $275 a month by ATT for data I don’t use. I can’t afford to pay that much for something I’m not getting. Elon Musk, you are an amazing man and you hold the world in thrall. I’m watching my mailbox and desperately hoping my kit comes soon.

I can’t wait to tell windstream to shove there 50mbs b.s. internet that has never seen that speed or come close to it. And can barely get down to 40ms into whatever they put modems in when people cancel. They are changing their name to kinetic b/c they have destroyed their current name with terrible service. Woo!!! I love the pace of SpaceX and so happy to see real change in the internet market. This is truly one giant leap. Especially for the rural families. I can finally live outside city limits and still work!!!

I hate to sound like I’m begging, but being able to beta test this app would make the rest of my semester. Stuck to relying on the phone lines for internet in an area under the beta test coverage. 2mbps split across all the devices in a modern home with work and remote learning. It’s not possible. Now we have none because the provider doesn’t prioritize us as a customer and will never expand us to broadband and has told the state as such. As soon as it’s available you’ll have loyal customers.

this app has come along way, good things come to those who wait. Till then shut up and take my money 🤣 I’m looking forward to getting the kit to install and use. This is a much welcomed change to our technology...Looking forward to using this for work and for our meetings. As one of Jehovah’s Witness, I’m looking forward to using this technology in rural and in internet dead zones. Hopefully by getting on this and funding it now will help get this app up and running so everyone on the planet will have access to the internet.

We are both seniors living on a small rescue farm in rural Florida. I have been fighting Cancer and other major health issues. I’m close to 80 and my wife is the most wonderful caregiver a person could hope for, but she has major health issues also. We have 6 mbps internet on a good day making communication with doctors and hospital facilities difficult. We are looking forward to the day our this app package arrives. I ordered 4/21. Keep up the great work Elon. We are behind you in all your efforts. Thank You so much.

First, I love Starlink . They have simply step up their game on this one. Very sexy and I believe it needs minor tweaks, but don’t go overboard it works and looks great!!! Thank you this app!
Second, the internet is smoking hot, I bet when they are done adjusting it and finish aligning the satellites I bet, it will be very close to cable internet. My speeds now are amazing than what I had from the very crappy Hughes net and Viasat. OMG, it is like night and day difference. Thank you Elon for looking out for the World and our pursuit to have fast and reliable internet!

We are in desperate need and still waiting for our system to arrive. We have heard so many great things about this app but are disappointed we can’t even figure out where we are in the que to receive our equipment. It would be nice to at least have some information on arrival. With beta testing ending soon - hopefully this type of information will become more readily available to those in need. Can’t wait to get it!!!!! Thank you for the mission you are on to help those of us who are in need.

I have yet to get my kit but I have friends who have just received theirs. I just have to say that we are incredibly grateful for this service. My friends have been blown away by the speed and consistency that they are able to receive using this app in our small community. With Covid-19 the need for reliable internet skyrocketed and our community, which still does not have cell phone coverage over approximately half of it and has had the equivalent to dial up internet over the majority is waiting with great anticipation to test out and use this new service. Which is less expensive than the other satellite service we currently have and is unlimited verses the 10 gb limit of our current satellite. Needless to say we are appreciative and grateful for this app!

Is it wrong to preload Starlink ? Can’t wait to finally be off of dialup and be able to watch all the funny clips people send through emails!

Once this battlestatio- I mean, satellite system is fully operational, even those of us in the middle of nowhere can have fast, reliable internet!

Don’t believe me? Just wait.
(No I don’t have one but Starlink is noice 😎)
While Starlink provides faster speeds than our former internet provider, when our system went down the problems escalated. How does Starlink expect senior customers in rural areas who lose their internet to communicate with support? Lack of a telephone support network meant that I had to drive 10 miles to use a friend's internet connection to submit a "ticket". I even requested a call from support to help me. After repeated "tickets" being generated and complaints with the FCC and my credit card company, Starlink finally sent replacement hardware to replace my defective system and gave a credit for my loss of service. If Starlink wants to provide people like us with a free smart phone and free service then maybe they won't need a telephone based support system. Maybe Starlink needs to reiew their business model.
i, and everyone else in my neighborhood, received our kits on the same day. Everyone’s kit worked fine except for mine. I contacted Starlink —support and they said give it 12 hours. I gave it 12 hours; then they said give it 24 hours—I gave it 24 hours; then they said give it another 48 hours;I gave it another 48 hours and it still didn’t work. at that point starlink support agreed that I had a received a defective unit and told me they would be sending me a replacement unit, even providing both an order number and shipping label for return of the defective unit. that was october 14, 2022. the date of this writing is November 17 2022 and i have still not received my replacement kit. according to support at starlink, a FedEx shipping number has been generated and they’re just waiting for FedEx to pick it up. They told me that 17 days ago (oct 31), and this morning the FedEx website it stated that the package still has been neither scanned nor picked up. from starlink support i continue to receive nothing more than robotic, non committal answers to my queries as to when I can expect this thing to arrive. clearly, starlink support’s communication path with starlink’s shipping department is below substandard. as of now, i am in over $600 and all i have to show for it is starlink’s monthly bill, which always arrives right on time. i vote no on starlink.

Hi, I got my Starlink Best effort/residential kit 3 days ago. Started up quickly, connected to my smartphone with wifi & wifi calling, to my Dell latitude laptop. 3rd on the list my 2016 "smart tv", after two days I gave up using the smart tv operating system, decided to buy a roku 4k+ express streaming device, now can watch tv at 1920x1080 flawlessly. Thanks Starlink and roku!
I paid my 99 dollar fee to get in line for starlink back in February 2021. It's now June, 16 months later and I was only offered RV service at a escalated price. My neighbor already has rv starlink so I know that you could have offered me service at the original price you stated when you took my 99.00 to get in on the so called first come first serve advertisement. I have never owned a RV. and never plan on buying one, yet I pay the extra to get the service. On starlink web site It states that people who payed the 99.00 dollars will only pay 549.00 for the equipment but that was not the case for me my 99.00 dollar payment to secure my place in line evaporated. I was charged full price.
Starlink customer service is non-existent. I set up my dish 6 days ago and have never been able to get it to work. Starlink customer service is completely unresponsive. Huge fail. I'm going to return the equipment and cancel service. Starlink is a huge waste of time and money. AVOID STARLINK.
Please get in touch with me and let me know when you have phone support vs online. Thank you.
I signed up for Star Link approximately March of 2021 and was able to install Star Link on roof mount last week. I was hopeful that my speeds would reach 300 MBS download, and 25-50 upload. At first when I was setting up star link on my vehicle, I was getting 150+download, and 15+ upload with a promise of better speeds and stability when Star Link launched more satellites. The last several days my speeds have slowed weigh down, and I don't know if it is due to the realignment of the tier pricing for standard and premium customers, I hope not. If I would have known in advance my internet speeds would be this slow, I would have reconsidered making the switch until better tier pricing for standard customers stabilized. Based on internet you tube reports the new premium rates are 5x current price in equipment and monthly rates. This is way too expensive for only 2x the speed. Most early Beta Users were getting these speeds during the Beta Tests. I believe Elon Musk had promised 300 mbs downloads, and 50 mbs uploads by the end of 2022 for standard users. I am thankful for Star Link, but I hope it will stay on course for high-speed internet for rural America for standard users. I am disappointed with my current speeds that seem to be slower each day, after the new announcements for the Premium Teir coming out 2Q 2022. I did a several speed tests today with an average of 20-30 Mps download, and 4-8 Mps upload. Last week when I set up to test in driveway, I would commonly get 100-200 Mps download, and 10-25 Mps uploads. These slower speeds are even worse with my dish mounted on my roof with no obstructions.
ONE YEAR ago we were invited, PAID FOR the package, got an receipt and STILL we sit here NO CONTACT, NO HARDWARE and no way to contact Starlink by phone, email or anything else. We have decided to hire an attorney and will be filing suit per a letter we sent them two months ago, AGAIN WITH NO RESPONSE, after the first of the year. If someone has a way to contact Starlink or a way for us to actually contact Starlink, by all means pass it to us but at this point, a year later I find this to be utterly ridiculous and a rip off at this point.
Have a question before pre ordering …..I own 50 acres and have three homes on it!…..Will it reach all three homes if I place one order?….Thanks….The company needs a telephone number!……Will await message!…..I have a Grandaughter that need service for school, she lives in a home near my home…We are rural and in an old antiquated copper fed box!….There are ten of us and my provider will never update just for a few!…..This would be ideal….Thanks again! Janelle
