Envoy is in our neighborhood thanks to the HOA. When we joined a year ago, we loved it. It was affordable, reliable, and clean. Customer service was helpful. Pricing was per minute and capped at $45 a day.
Now? What an epic decline. EnvoyMobility is buggy behind imagining. The price has has gone up nearly 50% and now caps at $103 a day. Our last rental we grabbed to car to do some shopping and when we came back from a coffee stop it wouldn’t unlock. We called customer service and they…also couldn’t unlock it.
Three hours of troubleshooting and waiting in the heat ( over 90 degrees) later, the car was still locked and we were still stranded. Customer service was basically useless, no sense of urgency, and as compensation offered….$20. We even had to pay for our own Uber home and they refused to compensate it. I will never use Envoy again. I’d rather bike then give them one more cent.
I want to start by saying the customer service reps are very nice but this just doesn’t work! I tried twice and the first time I couldn’t even find the right car because they gave me a color for a car that didn’t exist. I ended up trying every car we have in the apartment parking lot and still couldn’t get connected. The second time I actually got in the car but my phone kept getting disconnected from
the Bluetooth .. I could still lock and unlock the car but I couldn’t start it. After trying it for 30 minutes in 90 degree heat I called for troubleshooting. The only options I had was to close an reopen EnvoyMobility .. turn off and on my bluetooth.. open google maps.. this is supposed to be a easy way to get around in order to promote a car free lifestyle and it’s just frustrating and time wasting. I’m super disappointed they need to take these offline until this can be resolved.
The first time I used this, it worked perfectly. The second time it worked perfectly when I picked the car up, but it stranded me 10 miles away and forced me to Uber back after neither I nor customer service get the car to wake up on my return trip. And today, my third attempt, the car did not unlock at pick up. And so far I've been charges $24 for that failed attempt despite customer service canceling for me.
Based on my experience they will fix that… and I will update if not. But I don't know that I can feel secure using the service given that the cars don't always wake up? And you could be stranded anywhere... for a very high price I might add.
EnvoyMobility is one of the buggiest apps I’ve ever used. It constantly fails to log-in, recognise credit card details and says you need to update, but when you click update, it takes you nowhere and it’s says up to date in App Store.
My apartment building is partnered with this company/app and has an electric car in our parking garage we can rent by the hour. EVERY TIME I use it, I have issues. You have to pay for it by the hour but can spend up to 30 min just trying to connect the Bluetooth to unlock the car to get into the freaking car, so half your money spent is spent standing outside of the car looking at it. I have had to pay to extend time when I was right up the road getting groceries simply because I could not get the car to unlock. Sometimes you have to delete the whole app and redownload it just to get it to work. I also hate that if you return the car before your time is up you are not refunded the difference.
EnvoyMobility really needs some development. I’ll be at the car to start a reservation and app won’t let me login. Also doesn’t update when trying to book a new reservation whereby takes many efforts of refreshing the page in different ways to figure out availability. Haven’t yet had Bluetooth issues like many others mention but based on experience with app imagine those are around the corner.
Otherwise, cheers to the envoy team as the concept is great and a very helpful services when able to connect and get on the road.
Hey Envoy team. First: love the product & work you’ve put into making vehicles available for easy, on demand rental. Bravo.
EnvoyMobility however, needs some love. I’ve used the service multiple times and consistently have connectivity issues. EnvoyMobility will disconnect from the vehicle and not reload its connection. I usually have to perform some sort of gymnastics around closing EnvoyMobility , reopening it, resetting my phone to magically the the service reconnected to the car. Have had a few instances where the process has taken 15 minutes+. Would love to update this review once EnvoyMobility is more stable!
When I arrived at the car for my booking, EnvoyMobility couldn't connect to unlock or start the car via Bluetooth. I called customer support and they said it's a known issue that the developers are working to fix, and they started the car remotely for me instead. But it's still pretty inconvenient to have to call in and wait for someone to pick up any time I wanted to start or stop or lock or unlock the car. Had to wait 5 extra minutes when I returned the car before I could walk away too. Would like to get a notification when this is fixed or else I just don't think it's worth it to use the service.
Having a electric car sharing service is an awesome idea, and Envoy mostly pulls it off. The cars at my property are newer model Leafs (Leaves?) with all the options like heated seats and steering wheel, etc. Booking a ride is easy, and very convenient. I dropped my review one star just because it seems that the Bluetooth is buggy—it doesn’t always connect to the car right away. I’ve found that just closing and reopening EnvoyMobility seems to help.
Envoy is partnered up with my apartment building so it’s been very easy to use their cars. Only had one issue with the remote key not working. Called customer service And they very quickly started the vehicle for me and added additional time for the car due to the lag in start time. Easy to use and fun. APP is ok probably will improve over time.
I’m unsure of the authenticity of some of these bad reviews since my experience has been much more positive, and straight forward. I’m happy with the selection of vehicles, Tesla and Nissan, I just wish there were more available! Sometimes it doesn’t make a lot of sense to rent a Tesla for an hour to go run an errand. Sure, EnvoyMobility can be buggy. But it’s a newer company and seamless UI/UX takes years and years to perfect. Any issues I did have, customer service took care of right away. I think it’s too early to write this company off and I will keep using. I’ll update my review if needed but I’d say this service is worth at least trying for yourself!
This is by far the best and most useful amenity in my building. Booked one of our Tesla’s out for a few hours, no keys, just unlocked w my phone. So slick. And affordable. My GF and I share a car so this is perfect. Well prob get rid of our car soon too cuz insurance is crazy expensive.
I’ve been an Envoy user for around 3 years now and have to say this service has been a life saver for me as I don’t own a car. I live near their HQ and there’s always a car available when I need it. (Added benefit: I always get to try out the awesome new EVs they’re always adding to their fleet). There’ve been some slight ups a downs with connectivity over the past year, but I gotta say it’s been smooth sailing these past couple months and their customer service team is unparalleled! Looks like they’ve ironed out the kinks! Love Envoy! Love driving electric and feeling like I’m doing my part to make a difference!
Envoy is the best car-sharing service I've used! I don't need a car full time but sometimes need one for a few days. I tried Turo first but the cars were all old and gross. I was nervous at first about Envoy because it's new and has such high demand in my area but I've had nothing but great experiences with my car bookings. The cars are pretty much always brand new, clean, and ready to go!
They've completely changed the way people experience and share cars. From the moment you request a car to picking it up and dropping it off, Envoy provides an unmatched experience at an affordable price. They take care of everything, from insurance to maintenance to refueling your tank. Envoy makes it easy for you to get where you need to go while avoiding the hassle of typical rental car commitments.
Love this service!
The cars are clean and affordable, and EnvoyMobility works well. If I ever run into issues, customer service is very helpful and responsive.
There’s nothing more convenient than a car part at your doorstep to book by the hour.
Feel very blessed to have Envoy in my apartment building. We are a family of 6 and own 1 car and use envoy mobility as our family’s second car. To the market and ALL kf our errands its convenient and much cheaper than owning/leasing a car and dont even get me started on insurance.
Envoy provides three electric vehicles to my apartment community and it’s been an absolute game changer. I sold my car 6 month into living here and have been living car-free over 2 years now. Customer Service is amazing for any issues that have come up and I have extra money every month by avoiding car/parking/maintenance payments. Highly recommend moving to a place where Envoy is available!
The Envoy Car Sharing app has been a fantastic addition to my daily routine. It’s incredibly easy to use, with a clean interface that lets me find and book vehicles near my location in seconds. The cars are always clean, well-maintained, and parked conveniently within my apartment complex, making it so much easier than traditional car rental services. There are amazing luxurious cars available like Tesla, Lucid, Mach-E etc. which enhances overall experience.
I love the flexibility Envoy offers—it’s perfect for quick errands, weekend trips, or any time I need a reliable car. The fact that the vehicles are electric is a huge plus, as it aligns with my commitment to sustainable living.
Customer support is also responsive and helpful, which adds to the overall great experience. If you’re looking for a hassle-free, eco-friendly way to access cars, I highly recommend Envoy!
