Day rate / 12hr guaranteed
is what is most common in the film industry. You get a number for that day rate, let’s say 400 for the day. The first 8hrs of your day is straight pay at 1x hourly rate, but the remaining 4hrs (too add up to 12) are at a 1.5x hourly rate, calculating up to that 400 total. OT beyond that is then at 2x hourly rate, but CrewCall asks for an 8hr rate (or something, it’s not clear and it’s not changeable, it’s just grayed out)
What just about everyone needs help with is figuring out what your straight time hourly rate is to make sense of what makes that 400 even at a 12 hr day is in the first place (any time shy of 12 still = 12 hrs in the industry) this is needed so that you can figure out how much they owe ya beyond the 12 hrs that you had worked. CrewCall either does not do that, or is designed so poorly that it’s not clear how to do that.... can’t we just put a day rate for a 12 in a slot and have it do the math? Is there any app out there that does this anymore? There was a good one years ago called wrap time, but it’s gone now and CrewCall has earned 1 star from me for getting my hopes up and letting me down.

$70 a year! Are you kidding me. When it was at $40, that was barley acceptable. I’ve been using for a few years, it’s ok. When I originally purchased CrewCall , it was the best thing on the market, but it’s still not great by any means. You got to work around some of it’s limitations to get the correct information in. The updates have been helpful, but CrewCall is far from perfect. $70 is totally greedy. CrewCall must have been developed by film tools.
