I have ADHD and can say I have tried out almost every single planner app in the store in search of something to help me with goal planning. I have not seen a planner app yet that has this specific feature set I have been looking for and is this cleanly designed and easy to use.
Having to assign and update specific due dates, or calculate out weeks, or keep track of what I’m working on each month, and juggling that with overall yearly goals is enough traction to keep my sad dopamine-deprived brain from engaging with goal tracking apps.
Timestripe’s feature of already having weeks, months, quarters and years cleanly separated as buckets to assign tasks, and its ability to stack tasks as deep as I want and assign any task or sub task to any bucket is just so nice and clean and creates such a smooth experience.
I prefer tracking tasks over a week (almost like a mini sprint). I can now easily create yearly goals, sub goals under them (and sub sub goals under those), and assign the different levels of tasks to a quarter, month, or week. This helps me not get overwhelmed by seeing all that I have to do at once, but also gives me the comfort of knowing there is a structured but flexible plan in place over the months, quarters, year.
Once I finish a goal during the week I can look at the month or quarter to find the next task in that specific list to add to my week for my next to do for that goal. I also love that tasks that I did not finish one week carry over into the next so I’m not constantly having to update dates.
I haven’t spent a lot of time on the boards feature yet, so can’t speak to that as much, but the planner section is perfect.
