North Star: Goals & Habits Reviews

I been using NorthStar for a few months now, I love the design and how simple it is.
I also enjoy the fact that the developers are quick to respond if there are any issues found.
I’m also very grateful to the caring developers for letting me try it premium for a year, that was awesome and shows them going above and beyond my expectations .
One thing I would suggest ( if possible) is a way to improve the calendar of NorthStar . I would love to see if there is a way to make the calendar look bigger and include even the habits for each goal being shown or schedule in there. ( hope I make sense). I’m a very calendar oriented person and when I set up a habit I usually write down for each day or week on my own personal calendar which helps me keep track and stay motivated if I’m able to see it regularly.
Since I cannot carry a calendar with me I been looking for good app alternatives to keep track of my goals. So far NorthStar is amazing, gorgeous and with a lot of potential. Keep it up! And looking forward to the future of NorthStar :D thank you!

I have Downloaded apps for this purpose and was never Successfully using them. But NorthStar is beautiful and very practical. Under each goal you get to have tasks, photos, habits , milestones and I have not yet even discovered all functions. I don’t think I ever wrote such positive review on an app.
The only feature I would love added is a vision board under each goal, no I do not believe in things showing up in life because you had them in a vision board, but seeing your goals on a vision board and using that to visualize is a strong reminder of what you are after and it helps with motivation.
I could add photos, but I am not sure if I can have a few images, not date-related on the main board for that goal.

I’ve been using NorthStar for the past 8 months or so and it’s amazing! North Star is the only habit tracking app I’ve been able to consistently use for more than a couple of weeks. It’s visually appealing, intuitive, and simple - while still having useful customization options. Using NorthStar helped me pay off $10k in debt this year! 💰

Moreover, their customer service is top notch. I sent question about NorthStar through the feedback feature and received a thoughtful and personalized email from one of the co-founders. The team cares deeply about the quality of NorthStar and I have no doubt that NorthStar will only get better with time.

I love the interface and how simple it is to track goals in multiple ways. It’s wonderful as a visual goal tracker. As a runner, I love seeing my mile goals stack up. I can mark off each day when I complete my daily run and it also tracks streaks on a calendar. There is a graphing section so I can input in my exact miles each day and it will calculate the total and how the miles stack up.

The only thing holding me back from a 5-star review is I would like to see an easier way to export data. Even for the graphs to be easier to screenshot without cutting off info or including other data that I need to crop out. That’s the whole reason I downloaded NorthStar . I wanted a graphic tracker to show off on Facebook. I still love NorthStar , but sharing my goal achievements is a little harder.

Great app! Just started using it and i’m very excited about the use of the tools on it! It helps so much to have weekly (or whatever you want) goals set as habits and there broader goals to help you focus! I just didn’t love the measure tool, for my goal it would make a lot of sense i just didn’t understand how to incorporate it to it. Maybe a visual tutorial on how the tool work once you start inputing data would help adapt it to my need. Also didn’t understand if i can have more than onde thing at the time being measured! Over all is a great app and if it proves useful I’ll definitely invest in the life long buy (which honestly could be a bit cheaper).

I really enjoy NorthStar and it is works really well for managing my goals and tasks. However, I feel like a few things are missing. First: You should be able to change the way any unit is shown on the “measures” tool. By default, it is on average, but it should be able to be changed to “last added”, “highest value”, etc. The other thing also has to do with the “measures” tool. A unit that you should be able to select is percentage. With percentage you could also use the previously mentioned “last added” measurement, so it will always display the current percentage, not the average. Other than these little things. NorthStar is great!

I found that the tools they give you to reach your goals are helpful. They are adjustable to what you want to work on and how you measure success. I did splurge on the $9.99 membership because there was more than one goal that I wanted to achieve in 2021. I enjoy the colors and emoji symbols they use to help personalize the Goals. The only hiccup is that the tools are added to your goal as you go. I ended up with my Planning tool at the bottom, Milestones at the top and Measurements and Reminders scattered within the Goal I set up. I just sent an email to find out if there is a work around other than re-doing everything in an order I wanted.

I've tried alot of scheduling apps. They never seem to stick, though- sometimes it's because they had little to offer, or just wouldn't let me access anything without paying a crazy amount. I think part of North Star's success is that it gives you all the resources you need on a (to me,) very satisfying platform. You can pay to upgrade NorthStar , but alot of people can't afford to pay that much for an app; however, even if that's true for you, you can still use all the basics! I would highly recommend NorthStar to anyone making a New Years Resolution. It's very useful, and lets you customise it to your needs. (And it's free, so that's definitely a plus.) 😊

This is the first visually appealing app I’ve seen that allows me to edit my preferences and set milestones and reminders without being overly complicated. I’m a very distracted and forgetful person and I keep a million planners but this suits my goals instead of just being a daily to-do list. The people who created NorthStar obviously spent a lot of time developing something worth while and the price is about the same as an annual planner. If you’re looking for an organizer that will give you an extra boost toward your goals, I highly recommend downloading NorthStar .

I never write reviews, but I had to this time. I’ve downloaded every goal/planner app out there and this is by far the best one I’ve ever used! It’s like it was made precisely for me. I love the beautiful design, and how you get to work on EVERYTHING in your life in one app only: milestones for breaking down your goals into smaller steps, tasks for those basic everyday to-do lists, habits, and even measures (if you want to track your progress on weight loss/gain, savings, etc). Found NorthStar from a reddit post and figured I would give it a shot to help me track my various fitness goals and it has been amazing! The ability to add multiple habits under each goal finally allows me to keep track of my progress on different things that I am doing to get in shape (ex: one habit set to track weights, one to track cardio, etc). Prior to North Star, I was using several different apps to keep track of everything and it was such a hassle. So grateful for NorthStar and it is certainly helping me achieve my goals. Amazing!!!

NORTH STAR is the best goal app I’ve tried. I use it for yearly goal setting and check it at least daily. It keeps me focused, gives me a sense of achievement and progress, and helps me feel less scattered. I use measurements to log hours for projects that I know will be time-consuming, because it gives me motivation from the reminder of how much work has gone into it. I love how you can change the setup and layout of different goals, the colors, the deadlines, milestones, everything. I LOVE NorthStar and I can’t recommend it enough!

I love when developers listen and respond. Thank you guys! The new notifications are awesome. The motivational quotes are a great reminder to keep tracking. I can tell each update just makes things better and better.
Original review: NorthStar is new but already so sophisticated. I love that you can pick different tools, instead of having some standard interface. Customizing is great. One suggestion would be adding in a notes section. Otherwise, it’s fantastic.

I saw NorthStar recommended on Reddit and ended up buying the premium version so that I could have multiple goals. I’ve loved that you can tailor the type of tracker and planner to use for each goals. The customizable options have helped me organize basically every section of my life (like tracking my exercise and inputting grad school due dates). I really feel like I’m on top of it now and will probably renew my subscription!

This is THE kind of app I’ve been looking for as a highly motivated and goal oriented person. I’ve wanted to develop an app just like this, but am relieved I’ve found this one!

The only thing I fear is that really well thought out and designed apps like this tend to fizzle out or keep adding features and become generic and usually get littered with bugs down the path.

Features and UX wise, NorthStar is golden! Just tighten some bugs and please don’t get too crazy with adding tools / social features and this will easily stay as a top app to me and be shared among friends

I tried out many other similar apps, but couldn’t scratch the itch until I found this one. The design is elegant, user-friendly, and functional. The fact that NorthStar puts beauty first is actually so important. It feels good to write out your goals and keep track of them on NorthStar. The custom icons are a quick and great way to organize milestones. And It’s very satisfying to check off milestones and be reminded of your progress.

First off, NorthStar is beautiful and works seamlessly. But what I really appreciate are the endless options for customizing your goals, breaking tasks down into manageable chunks, and tracking progress.
There are guides, hints, and tips available (but not pestering you) at every turn, which I needed and found so helpful.
All in all, excellent app, 10/10 would recommend (5/5 would recommend just doesn’t have the same ring lol)

I use NorthStar to keep track of my goals and milestones in learning a new language. It reminds me to practice, to review old material, logs the time i spent studying, and holds loftier goals for me till I’m ready for them. :) it’s wonderful free to track one goal, but I would pay definitely if I had more than one thing I was working towards.

The crew is great at communicating, they’re small right now, but they’ve done so much with NorthStar! I hope they’re proud! ❤️

NorthStar has a great interface and really encourages you to break down your goals so it’s easier to see the small steps to get to the bigger end goal. This really helps me to feel less overwhelmed with bigger tasks and makes me feel accomplished every time I can check a milestone. I will definitely be getting a subscription when I have the money so I can add all my goals <3

I have a hard time getting motivated and NorthStar really helps me focus on what I've done instead of always focusing on what's not done which I've noticed helps to feel motivated to aconplish even more than I have without it. I've been using it for about a year now and it's been my most productive and like balanced year. 10/10 would reccomend

I am enjoying NorthStar so far. Didn’t require sign up or personal information which was possibly my favorite part when coupled with the ease of use and ability to set up all of the things I wanted to keep track of. I wanted to plan rewards also but was able to modify and do that with the planner feature. I’m sure there are additional tools in the full version though.

North Star is an amazing app if you have goals to reach and need some help!!!! North Star is extremely easy
to setup along with having multiple tools you can configure for additional support! North Star user interface is fun, functional and beautiful! Btw, North Star is FREE to use with all of it’s cool bells and whistles until May 2020, try it you’ll love it 😍!!!! When the free trial is over I’ll become a North Star subscriber!

I usually get bored with self help apps because they just don’t stick with me or don’t have enough customization for me. NorthStar lays out everything I need to organize my life and goals in the simplest way possible and I can definitely see my self using this long term. I’m absolutely in love with NorthStar.

I love NorthStar. It takes away the intimidation a lot of other task management apps have and is simple and intuitive in helping me to visualize and accomplish my goals. I’m using it for fitness management and it’s so helpful to set daily reminders to do things on my own terms knowing what works for me!

NorthStar is seriously so helpful when organizing goals and ideas. It has helped me break down my bigger ideas into itemized tasks and tracks their progress in real time. I definitely recommend North Star for anyone who has goals, tasks and ideas they want to bring to fruition!

I’ve tried a few other habits apps but I like the customization and stats page on North Star. I hope they add a calendar filter option soon!

I’m using it. It’s super easy to use. I love it. Going to get a lot more done, and feel better about accomplishing it.
