The videos download are multi-gigabyte files even though they are only a few minutes long.

There is no need for this! Hollywood fits 2hr long 4k Atmos in a couple of gigs, why can’t you??

I thought that this would be pretty cut and dry to use. I have now purchased 3 separate packages and still not getting anywhere. Emails are a hit or miss and I don’t use it ever and have canceled 3 times!! STOP BILLING ME!!

Hard to give a positive review when you’re getting spammed with other courses to purchase before you’ve even set your password up for the course you just bought. The 80% ‘discounts’ will never expire, you’ll get bombarded with emails soliciting other courses, adds get in the way in CamGuru , it’s a joke. They just want your money.

I used to watch IPS videos via safari without any issues, but as of July 3rd people across USA are being denied access to courses they have purchased via the browser.

Instead everyone is being told to use CamGuru.

When I look at the privacy documentation I see it is gathering far more data than I am comfortable to share.

I purchased the first course and got through 3 sessions barely. He talks too much and teaches too little in each class. I have learned more faster from TikTok videos. His courses are very over priced. There is lots of beautiful scenery, but he takes way too long to get the point across. He also excludes some very basic photography rules that should be taught first. He leaves them out to keep you coming back for more. He is obviously making a ton of money even at 85% offers.

For some reason I can only get the videos to play in Spanish or German. When I select English, the text is in English but the audio remains in Spanish. Nothing I do seems to change the language of the audio. Really disappointing for a first impression.

Beware of the new update, it removes the ability to download videos for offline viewing. I loved this feature for times I’m on the train with no signal.

You would think software developers would learn there lesson after the Sonos debacle. DO NOT release a “new enhanced” version removing popular and important features. You just killed the usefulness of CamGuru and classes as I use it away from home. Should I buy a new cellular data plan because your new version removes features ? I can tell you the one thing I’m not buying, is anymore classes. Also, you never clean up the previously downloaded videos but do NOT use them when watching. It was still getting the video via streaming and it was ignoring the downloaded copy from the previous version. Had to clean up those unused files via the iPhone storage method. FAIL. Yea classes are useful, some better then others, just don’t expect to be watching them on trains, planes and automobiles!!

Still exploring everything but very happy that I have access to my courses. My only request is for landscape mode for iPad. I have my iPad set up with a keyboard & it would be great to have landscape for easier use & viewing.

The scam is obnoxious where they give you the price and it’s just one price and it doesn’t say other things cost more, but then soon as you pay and get CamGuru they start telling you how much more it costs for every piece of the thing. Nicole and dime people to death. No. I got a refund immediately.

The videos are obnoxious with annoying background music, the layout of CamGuru is annoying with stacks of cards of more stuff to buy.

The emails are insane. They send at least one a day and they are animated! I mean, the email’s avatar where we normally have a photo of a person or an icon, that thing is a moving circle. Almost a spiral. I cannot stand it! I open my email app and there’s a long column of spinning red circles on the left! Are they *trying* to trigger seizures?

So gross. The entire experience was scammy and weasely and slimey.

I deleted CamGuru and requested course refund within 5 minutes of signing up. With all the emails and texts that came in from them within a minute of signing up, it showed me that what I paid for was not an iPhone photography course, it was paying them to harass me for more money to buy other courses because there essentially is nothing in the course I bought. Don’t waste your time or money on iPhone Photo Academy.

Once you buy the course you’re interested in you will be plagued with pop-ups and upsells. They respond (relatively quickly) that they’re sorry and you can turn these off in CamGuru . You cannot. They mean you can turn notifications off…but the upselling continues.

It’s probably too late at this point. You’ve already purchased and you’re just here to download CamGuru to get your course. Sorry. You should be treated better. But this is your life now.

CamGuru will not open in landscape mode. I can’t stand apps that don’t take the iPad user into account! You said this has been fixed, but I just downloaded CamGuru yesterday, and it is not!

I feel it didn’t give me anything, it was short, and I honestly find the guy kind of annoying. Regret buying CamGuru. First course is extremely short and then you realize you need to buy more and more courses.

When watching the courses on the phone, there are a number of problems I found. 1. There are constant requests to get discounts to either buy the course I already bought or other things. 2. Viewing the course on the phone is incredibly frustrating because I can’t see or zoom in effectively on the phone settings that are being being referred to to during the video. I have resorted to watching the classes on my computer. 3. The third complication is too difficult to describe.

The information is very useful and the teaching is very good, but I’m only on class 2.

I will only use CamGuru if I absolutely have to traveling without my laptop.

Are you kidding me??? As an iPad Pro user with a keyboard I have to take it out of its stand and and hold it in portrait to use CamGuru? Come on…

I just purchased the photography school app and I like the few lessons I’ve watched so far. However, the ads that keep popping up for the photo editing and other upsell products are obnoxious and distracting. it’s making me consider just asking for a refund. One of the typical benefits of purchasing an app is to stop the annoying ads.

I love this app using it on my IPhone, mush better than the browser version. I am about to get my Vision Pro (don’t own an IPad). Is it set up in CamGuru Store to install on my Vision Pro? I don’t find it in the Vision Pro App Store yet.

I just want to show my appreciation at the costumer service and how quickly they’re resolved my problem and refunded my money, I accidentally purchased the course 2x and they’re toke care right away. This is how a company shows respect and appreciation for the customer.

As for CamGuru , it’s a good addition. I have dozens times dozen of tabs opened in the background so sometimes the browser gets clunky to use, but with CamGuru the experience becomes as smooth as baby oil again.

As a professional photographer since 1980 I have discovered many different ways to add intrest to photos. Ranging from food shots, excutive portraits, family portraits, architecture, weddings, and art signed and limited images. I started with hassablads medium format, slr, Light, dji drone, and now the iphone.
The course work offered within CamGuru is top notch. My iphone is always with me and I am always looking for image to create. Now with AI the sky is the limit to what you can do.

Using CamGuru on my iPad which does have wifi but not cellular. Easy to now download a full course and then watch it anytime even when not connected to wifi. Design even permits deleting individual lessons when no longer needed to save storage. This has added much convenience to accessing the courses. Thanks

WIth the upgrade, this little app can now provide personalized analslyis and suggestions for your photos. I found the suggestions very helpful.

I don’t know why others are having an issue. Just downloaded CamGuru today, looked up the username and password I used to log into iphonephotographyschool.com and entered them when logging into CamGuru and BAM! all of the courses I’d purchased are here, unlocked, and showing me exactly where I’d left off.

Maybe other users didn’t log in with the same credentials?

Not sure what I’m gaining by using CamGuru instead of their website, other than it makes it easier for them to market to me? Still, it’s fine to have one app instead of remembering the URL.

As far as that one complaint about data being collected, it looks the same as most other apps: collecting contact info (login email), diagnostics to update CamGuru , purchases made… the usual stuff. Doesn’t say they are creeping on me tracking my every movement or anything. Nothing to see here.
