智方便iAMSmart is poorly designed. You cannot use it without having Face ID or Touch ID enabled.

The IAM Smart app simply does not work. After completing the extensive, cumbersome registration process twice, I open 智方便iAMSmart again and I’m back on the “register” screen. Nope. Not wasting more time on this steaming pile of garbage. Byeeeee!

Can’t scan the ID card. What a joke. I feel anything but smart after trying for 30 mins

It’s a joke! I can’t even get the first step done. It can’t even scan my ID card. Don’t waste your time. Shame!!!!👎👎

Cannot get it to scan the HKID card. Trying this for the last 30 mins.

Scanned my ID more than 30 times under perfect lighting and it did not recognise it at all. Deleting this useless garbage

智方便iAMSmart needs serious help. I’ve tried for days now to scan at an angle.

Tried scanning my ID 12 times in various lighting and it doesn't work with iphone 12. Save your time and don't download 智方便iAMSmart.

Took me 20 mins for ID scan-in. HK government - Please use modern technology and avoid wasting people’s time by spending money on simply promoting this software but no user experience QC and QA.

Using a iPhone XR, so decent camera, somehow doesn’t allow the third and last scan to capture. So nothing to do with the camera quality I’d say.

The registration process is cumbersome and literally a joke.
The facial registration failed on me 23 times. I changed my background, got the light adjusted and am using and iPhone XR.
Save yourself sometime and avoid getting 智方便iAMSmart. For all you know some former govt representative’s business is the beneficiary behind 智方便iAMSmart .

It’s not just having scanning ID issue. Once you succeed. 智方便iAMSmart locked you acc and it’s not allowing you to help the others such senior family to register. rubbish government made rubbish app.

HKID scanning feature is impossible to use, I tried many angles and light sources before it decided to pick it up. And the facial scanning feature is even more inaccurate.

won’t scan. won’t tell you what the issue is. just keeps saying “closer. ** edit. you don’t need 智方便iAMSmart to apply. there’s a manual method on the HK website. search your’ll find it. no need to scan.

Can’t recognize my face thousands of times even tho I tried different light angle and I had to go through the shooting process every time. If you don’t know how to operate an app then don’t do it! Waste my time!

Using version 1.7.1. Tried it multiple times under different lighting conditions. The only one (out of the 4 options) that works is opening the mouth. Remove the buggy piece of authentication.

HKID scan was painful but it was possible after 10 tries, facial scan was hopeless despite following the instruction exactly for 20 minutes and 智方便iAMSmart simply says facial scan unsuccessful without any further instructions.

Flash goes off automatically when scanning the 1st angle causing a big glare in the image. Not sure if this is the reason why my HKID can’t be scanned.

智方便iAMSmart can’t scan my hkid, even after a dozen different attempts in various lighting conditions.

Update: got it to work on the 20th try. Trick is to not hold it in the angles it asks for. Instead, when it wants a straight angle on the first pic, angle it so the glare doesn’t show, then on 2nd and 3rd to tilt it, don’t tilt it as much as it says.
