Proceed With Caution

I am disappointed with my this app experience. Things started off great with my first box, got everything quickly and it fit perfectly (i did research outside of Nuuly to have the best shot at this). Everything has been TERRIBLE since. My second order NEVER made it to me, it returned to the warehouse or something. The only reason i got a refund is because i contacted them. After explaining what had happened they offered me one free item and refunded the box cost. This is where I get really frustrated, i went to reorder my items that i had spent way to long selecting and they weren’t available, the best they could do was tell me approximate return dates for the items, ranging from a couple of days to weeks. Yesterday I finally saw most of the items i wanted in sizes that could work and now I am getting an email saying they are subbing one of my items with something that looks NOTHING like it. I wasn’t given a choice to pick another item and this item wasn’t even from my save closets, there for money wasted. Worse still is that there isn’t an option to alert them that you aren’t interested in the item. If i want a surprise i would ask my dad to go by me some pants. All of this to say proceed with caution, the time spent is probably not worth the effort if this is the experience and customer care being offered.

Great concept but…

The clothing is too worn unless you are lucky to get a NWT item. It smells horribly as well. I wish they didn’t use a fragrance when cleaning the clothing. They told me to expect wear and tear but piling, gunk stuck on clothing and fade is a little too much for me. I tried 2 rounds and canceled. Customer service is very quick! They are actually kind and very professional. However they remove any reviews on clothing if you complain about the condition and flaws. They monitor each one. The reviews are not accurate at all. You will never see anything past fit unless someone leaves a higher rating on item and slides in the item was a little worn. I caught a few of those on 4 start ratings. App is fairly easy to use but there are a few glitches when searching. Overall not a company I want to have a subscription with even though URBN stores are the only place I buy clothing- Free People and Anthropologie mainly.

Horrendous customer service

I’ve been a this app member for years now. The actual service and idea is amazing. I usually do love the items themselves. However, the customer service is atrocious. The people responding are nice enough. But it’s like nobody ever works. The response times for the online chat are FOR-EV-ER. Like HOURS. Sometimes even DAYS. It’s like, why even have an online chat option?? Just only allow emails then!
Also, they have screwed me a few times in getting a shipment later than I was promised, or forgetting to send part of a clothing item (like a belt that’s supposed to come w it and the item doesn’t even nearly fit without it), or somehow realizing they don’t have the item i picked after confirming shipment—so they decided on THEIR behalf what to send me in place of the item i wanted instead of asking ME what I would like (ps the item they chose was NOTHING i would ever in my life wear which was incredibly frustrating). And then they “can’t” send only one item out when they were the ones who screwed up, so they do give you a little bit of money back or a free spot for the next month which is i guess nice but doesn’t necessarily make up for their mistakes. So, it depends how flexible you are and if you use this service because you actually have a busy social life or travel a lot, etc, or if you’re just doing it for fun.

Poor customer service, buggy website, ratty clothing

I need to update my credit card information and despite there being nothing wrong with my credit cards (confirmed with visa rep) their website continually pops up with a faulty error message stating that it cannot accept my payment details. Their customer service is basically non-existent. There is no phone number to call and talk to someone. You can only text/chat and wait for them to message you back. I messaged them 10 hours ago during their business hours to resolve this issue and they have not even read my text let alone responded to it. Also, I’ve only received one shipment so far and one of the dresses looked soooo old. It was pilling, the seam was coming apart at the bottom, the color was faded and the belly area was all stretched out. I cannot believe they sent me a piece of clothing in that condition let alone were asking $80 to buy it. I feel like it was wasted money. I almost forgot…almost half the items in my closet are not available to rent in my size…really not cool. So far I haven’t had the best experience with this company.

Customer service needs work

I LOVE this concept! And I love the clothes that were sent to me. Only downside is their customer service. They offer three ways to get in touch with them (chat via the website, phone call, or email). I chose email (which said a response would come in 2-3 business days) the first time and never received one, even after a week. When I went back onto the website to attempt to contact them again, it looked like instead of an email it was a chat which I didn’t see because I closed out the website. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe I clicked the chat button by mistake. So then I selected phone call (which said a response would come in one business day). It’s been 3 days and no response via email, phone, or chat. Again, love the concept of renting as it’s more “green” and love the clothes. Customer service just needs some work. Would still use in the future!

Love/hate relationship

I love getting to choose from super cute clothing each month, it has eliminated my precious fast fashion shopping habits! The downside is the quality at times is really poor and typically each box has at least one damaged item (stained, holes, missing piece). Initially the customer service was great and always made sure the situation was resolved. However, month after month I’m starting to feel bad and feel like a Karen, but disappointed when 1/6 items is unwearable due to damage. Also the customer service more recently does the bare minimum, such as mailing missing parts but not offering any discount or refund. I love this company but am getting more and more frustrated each month.

I keep having to contact support

I’ve been using this app for a few years on and off. I’ve had a decent experience in the past. However now, I’ve had to contact support more times than I’d like. In one order I chose a 2 piece set but the zipper was broken on one item, so it didn’t make sense to wear either. I wasn’t satisfied with the resolution that came up with considering I couldn’t wear 2/6 items.

Recently, i had an issue with my order going though. So the order didn’t finally go through until a few days before my vacation. I paid extra for checked bag so i could fit the clothes in my luggage. But now Im not even receiving the order until the day before I leave my trip! I’m beyond frustrated. I was expecting the 2-3 day shipping.

Good service; app doesn’t work

The latest update appears to have broken Nuuly . Nuuly worked fine for my first two orders. But this past week when I’ve been on Nuuly trying to plan my next this app… none of the content loads in Nuuly so it’s just endless scrolling thru empty boxes where product images should be. And it isn’t just slow to load… it just isn’t loading even if I wait a few minutes. This is the case whether I’m on wifi or data. Very frustrating and makes it so I can’t pick clothes for my next this app. I’m probably going to have to pause my subscription until this issue is resolved because as far as I can tell the service is unusable. Tried the website but it just auto-opens Nuuly when I try to visit the website.

A few snags

Overall I like the concept and the price is very reasonable for what you get. I'm on my second month of rentals so I don't have much experience with this company but there are a few things to be wary of.

First, if an item in your cart isn't available they switch the item out for you. They do give you an extra credit to use on a future order, but it's still frustrating that they don't give you the option to pick back ups or make the switches yourself. I got stuck with items with poor reviews and didn't fit because they swapped my items. Hopefully in the future they'll change that feature, so you can either choose a replacement, or it'll pick from your closet instead of a random item.

Second, they aren't very clear on when you have to return your items. You have to return them before you can get your next order but they don't specify a specific date. This may lead to unexpected purchases of the items and means you don't truly have the items for a full month (more like 3 weeks when you consider shipping times). Ideally it would be a roll over date when your next rental starts so that you actually get your items from the 1st to the 1st. Or at least tell the user what day is the last possible date for returns.

Overall, I'm satisfied but with a few minor changes it would be a lot better.

Downhill

this app used to be my go to. I have been using it for years. It used to be reliable and most items came new or in like new condition.
Now, it is rare that I get a this app package without a complication, whether it be a missing item, replaced item, stained item, or completely worn out old item. My most recent shipment came with one replaced item and two stained items, leaving me with only three of six items.
Customer service always refunds me $17, which I appreciate. But when I’m relying on certain pieces for special events or vacations, this makes for a huge last minute “NOOO what am I going to wear” fiasco. Then I have to do last minute shopping, sometimes doing overnight shopping costs, etc, just to get at item in time for my event or vacation.
Just to update, as I received a reply. I always contact customer service, and they do offer refunds. But it is the hugest hassle to order and be short an outfit, CONSISTENTLY. Now when I order, I think “hmmm I wonder what item they will substitute out or what item will arrive damaged, etc”. I have little confidence in receiving a perfect order. If this continues, I will end up cancelling for good.

Could use some improvements

I’ve been renting with this app for over a year now. I loved the brands and inventory it had to offer but they are I increasing the price which is a bummer so I hope to see some improvements in quality and availability (as I’ve seen a slow decline in both areas). The customer service is great and they easily add on an extra item or refund you a portion of the monthly price when they mess up. I do wish they had the option to exchange an item if it’s damaged or if it doesn’t fit. I also wish they would contact you if they don’t have the time you rented to ask what you would like instead of just exchanging it themselves (and it not being a style or piece of clothing you even want to wear). I do like the fact of being sustainable and buying less clothing (I have been wasting so much less space in my closet and spending less money).

Love it

So far I love Nuuly and the subscription. The reason why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is one major thing I wish they had. They need to provide a size chart/guide for the pieces. I have to look at the reviews for guidance and a lot of pieces might have only one or two to go off that are not at all my body type. I’ve been able to find some sizing guides by looking up the pieces themselves but some don’t produce anything since the item is now only available through the subscription. The clothes come from their actual stores/companies involved so there was a size guide up on the internet on their sites at one point in time. Would be great if they just included it so I don’t have to use 3 of my 6 pieces guessing what might fit me.

Love this service, excited to see how it grows

I love this service. It has really helped me curtail my clothing spending, and I’m excited to get my box each time. The service, the process, the clothes - all top notch! I have a few small suggestions that I think could be done to improve the in-app experience itself: 1) A scrolling progress bar. Sometimes I’m scrolling and scrolling and unsure where I am in the options (25%? 90%?!).
2) A way to queue up what I would like to pick for my next box. The closet is great but just holds everything you ever ‘like’. I’d like a way to narrow it down in sort of a staging area. (In addition to ‘My Closet’, maybe a ‘My Fitting Room’?).
3) Preventing Nuuly from refreshing on its own. Sometimes even if I leave it up in the background and want to come back, it’ll refresh and lose where I’ve been scrolling and I have to start all over.
Like I said, I really love this and am excited to continue using it. These are just small suggestions to continue to build on an awesome app and service. :)

Fantastic Rental Service (and Plus Size Friendly)

this app is the only rental service I’ve kept more than 2 months. I’ve used them for almost a year now, and don’t foresee cancelling any time soon. They continually add pieces to their site, and provide soooo many plus size options that are current and well made. As a larger girl, it allows me the opportunity to try new things without buying them first and in the comfort of my own home. This has drastically cut down on random clothing spending, and allowed me to make intentional purchases. Minimal effort return is a bonus, and so it their wonderful customer service team. Any time I have reported an issue, they have responded promptly and kindly (and usually with a credit back to my account even when I didn’t think it necessary). 10/10 recommend.

Some hits, some misses, Quality Control issues

I’ve been using this app for a few months now and overall, I’d say I’m pleased. Since it’s all internet shopping, I’m happy if I like at least half the items in my box each month. I will say, it can be very difficult to discern the hand of the fabric and how things will actually fit, even with reviews, for some items. I think having fiber content and measurements for items could potentially be helpful. In my last box, I received a dress with a bleach stain on the front. My sister, who also uses the service, received an “oversized” wool cardigan that been run through the wash. It was completely felted and tiny. So I think their quality control could really use some work. I will say
1. I have also experience similar issues with other, similar services.

and

2. upon contacting this app, they refunded me for the item and gave me a free item for the next month, but I would have preferred a replacement item.

BUT, I still generally like the service as I get to try items I would not otherwise be able to afford or want to fully commit to.

Young at heart and busy as can be

I have a beautiful, active family, and my husband keeps me on my toes with work travel and play. We both come from large families, all over the world. We have numerous events and outings to need a closet for. this app has given me the freedom to be as wild or as calm as I need to be, depending on events, family visits, or just wanting to feel amazing for my husband and I. I can switch from foxy, to wild, to demure, to classic, to workout. I’ve travelled to the West Coast and East in one months rentals. I will enjoy this for many occasions, seasons, cities, countries, and events, bragging to everyone how my Chandon budget final fits my Dom Perignon desires 🫶🏼

Loving it!!!!

I had an upcoming trip to a tropical place and thought it’d be a good idea to try a clothing subscription, since most of the clothes I’d take with me would not be used where I live.
this app has a very competitive price point compared to other companies - You get to choose 6 pieces of clothes for a month for under $100 (including taxes)! I’m overall very happy with the clothing/brand selection they offer, though I noticed there aren’t many black tie outfits, if that’s what you’re looking for. I was mostly happy with the fit of my pieces (2 were on the larger size but I made it work - I was aware that they would be a little loose). I reviewed an item that I didn’t end up wearing because, to me, it looked super faded. CS reached out and made things right - I wasn’t expecting anything from my review, as I knew it was a possibility with a rental company, but their proactive response made my experience even better.
I’m now looking forward to using this app during fall/winter months, as their selection of coats/blazers is amazing!
In all honesty, my experience with this app made me rethink my approach with buying clothes: I now buy basic/versatile/durable items and rent trendier ones.
I also loved that they deliver the clothes in a ziper bag as opposed to a box - a step further into a more sustainable business.

So happy with Nuuly!

This is the first subscription clothing service I’ve done and couldn’t be more pleased. The reasons I love it so much are 1) the price, you get more items for the monthly fee than any other service I’ve found 2) the types of clothing, I wanted to try out more “fun” clothes that I might not be willing to buy. this app has some great basics and also lots of unique clothes. 3) The customer service! Always helpful and have answers to my questions. 4) eco friendly and easy to use. Clothes come in a reusable shipping bag and all you have to do is apply the prepaid label and drop it off to return.

On my second month… great so far!

Make sure you read how it works!

I had misunderstood how this app works, and had only sent back 3 of my items. I assumed you could keep a few and rent new items so long as you kept your subscription going. Well you can’t. You can only keep all 6 items, or send back all 6 and get an entirely new set of 6 items. You can’t keep a few, exchange a few, etc. If you decide to keep any items then they charge you as they assume you are purchasing the items. It is however at a discounted price.

I did not want to purchase, I simply did not understand how the service worked (definitely my fault for not reading their service description in detail). Luckily they were super quick to respond and helped me to correct that within 24 hours. I did have to send the other 3 items back and pay for shipping, but they were lenient and understanding and I did not have to pay for the items!

I have only done one subscription thus far, but I would highly recommend this company! Of the 6 items I rented, 3 of them were brand new with tags attached and the other 3 were lightly used. It’s a fun way to try new items, especially items that you wouldn’t purchase otherwise. I’m going on my second subscription and just rented 8 items for a big trip I’m doing. Loving the styles, the variety and how many items you can get! Perfect for fashion lovers like myself!

Nailing Nuuly

I never write reviews. Like ever. But I just can’t hold it in anymore, this app is the most wonderful self care I’ve found for myself, maybe ever. Every month when that bag gets delivered it’s like the best day ever. To have the ability to try out so many different labels and purchase what works (at a discount!) is just so exciting for me.
I express myself through clothing and color so It fills my cup in so many ways. Any day I get to adorn something extra special from this app feels so good to my core. Thanks for creating the space and service, you’ve got a customer for life!!
