Local 3 News Reviews

My family has been a loyal WRCB-TV family for many years. And like others, we’ve rolled with times and changes. One expects a larger company to buyout multiple smaller companies and rebranding to be done. Even changing a name to something “simpler for customers” is totally understandable. However to change a design and layout so much so, that the news one would normally see isn’t even there is going one step too far. To not include some of the national and world news makes absolutely no sense, in that it directly effects our state and therefore our city. A pebble thrown into a pound causes ripples, in-turn the entire pond is somehow affected. Our city is a ripple that isn’t being acknowledged on this new rebranded app.

For that matter, local news is hardly present as is or rarely updates. If you have to swipe up, down, left, and right just to simply get a story that you find is actually a day old. It doesn’t really give you a reason to want to go further. The weather portion, while I can say is definitely better in that it’s more detailed, it often glitches and shuts down Local3News when you try to see the 7 day forecast. I know much time and effort were probably put into this update, but unfortunately the goal was missed. Wish you all the best, but I guess it’s time this family does some rebranding of it’s own and finds another news station with an app that actually gives us the news.

Local3News is dysfunctional in its layout, gotta scroll up, down and sideways. There is so very little NEWS in Local3News that it really is not worth calling it a news app. They cover one or two stories a day, if you're lucky. And, the stories that they do cover are usually a day or more old. WTVC at least makes an attempt to publish information (if you can ignore the bad writing /editing). Watching the live show on channel 3 is better.

This new app is awful. The old one was easy to navigate, had tons of news articles, wasn’t covered in ads, and the livestream actually worked!!! It’s a pretty safe bet now that when I try to watch the livestream of the news, I’ll just get a commercial, and then a black screen with no sound. I really missed Channel 3 news before the rebranding to “Local 3”.

This new app is terrible. It seems like they have given us the Beta version after having a great app previously. The weather is only correct one time a day. Have been loyal WRCB viewer, but these changes have not been for the best! Time to check out other options.

Since the update it is completely inaccessible to those of us who use accessibility features such as dynamic text and voiceover. Therefore, making it completely unusableTo the blind. I am very disappointed by this.

Used to be so much better when it was WRCB. With the new rebrand Local3News has become borderline unusable. I’m wondering if this updated app was actually made by a child. It’s that bad.

Good way to throw away a brand they spent 35 years building. The new app is complete clunky and all scattered around. Goodbye WRCB. Hello WTVC. Highly disappointed with this change out of no where.

Fear mongering at its finest. I use to enjoy Local3News and found it useful but not since 2020. 90% of the articles now only pander to liberal news without ever sharing both sides of a story fairly. The constant obsession with Covid “numbers” is over the top, nauseating and ridiculous.

Local3News does a decent job of covering the top news stories, a little more difficult to find specific articles you may be looking for. Also I am disappointed at the amount of clickbait that they allow to be on Local3News .

Wish they would concentrate on news from the Tennessee Valley and Chattanooga more. It’s filled with articles from CNN that really have zero impact on the local news market. A complete obsession with covid stories hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Lack of live streaming hurts Local3News a lot.

The ability to have a floating screen is great. You can create a window-in-window, move and resize it. You can slide the window off to one side, removing it from the iPad’s screen, but allowing you to continue to listen to the live broadcast. It’s very helpful.

I have relocated to Jefferson County. I sure do miss y'all. Thank God for Local3News
