I can't imagine the ideal client this app is designed for. I was looking forward to it but it's full of aggressive un-help: toxic positivity from those popular in their fields. The messages are simply not true- "you manifest what you believe" in relationships does not account for the other person's autonomy and puts the responsibility on the individual to try to control their thoughts so that the best thing shows up. This is unhelpful for victims of abuse- you do not manifest your abuse. The professionals on this app do not present as trauma-informed in the slightest. In one talk, a psychiatrist says you can prevent yourself from reacting to triggers through "awareness". Again, this is simply not true. Asking survivors in particular, anyone who might be hurt and on this app seeking help in general, to access their potential triggers so they can prevent having reactions to them is unsafe and unfair and simply not the way trauma responses work. Trying to offer that as a solution is asking people to be retraumatized on purpose. These professionals are being irresponsible with their advice. I can't stress enough that the messages peddled on this app are going to cause harm to a lot of people.

The contest is fantastic, however, there is no way to pause an episode and then get back to it. The app is lacking a function of tracking content you already played or where in the process of playing for you to get back to. Very frustrating.

I found this app because of Mark Groves and it is fantastic. The content is top quality and I have learned so much. It’s an excellent platform to get easily digestible content on well-being, relationships, family dynamics, etc. Social media but for mental health! And it’s free for all of 2020. I only gave it 4 out of 5 because there are still some features that need to be built out, like a search bar.
