They Double Charged My Bank in U.S.A. and Never Returned My Money!

I visited and stayed in the Philippines back from 2021 to 2023. I used this this app service and their this app App for my phone during my stay. I reloaded my phone for Data service using my WellsFargo (U.S.) bank account connected to their this app App in 2022, but they double charged my bank account and never returned my money that was stolen or double charged. Their customer service is useless to non-existent, because I spent hours waiting to connect to a real person agent multiple times per day for two months. They did not and would not return the money they stole from my account even with proofs of evidences from the history of charge with confirmation numbers, dates, and times in both the this app App and my bank account. They did not even offer to credit the money they double charged for data service instead of refund. I could not contact my bank from there, so the money they stole is theirs to keep. I Do Not recommend this this app Service when you go to the Philippines. It was one of the worst experiences being there. Until now, their social media pages seems to have many complaints from local Filipinos whose local bank accounts were charged and never refunded or used the money they stole for their services.

Annoying app. 1 year old and still missing functionality

Smart has been an annoyance since it was launched. All the tech but with UI/UX design flaws. Buy plans for my this app phones and PLDTWiFi - happy to take our money and sell plans. “Use GigaLife and not SMS” “we’re killing off SMS purchases etc.” but it’s still there. It feels like this is all managed by the marketing department with no input from tech or customer service.

With many apps users will receive alerts that a plan will expire but not this one. All we get is an SMS message saying your plan just expired - and that’s IF our local cell tower is actually functioning.
Trying to use LTE for data can mean waiting hours for a data link meanwhile can’t do business. Many times I’ve gone to check my balance or buy a plan and Smart says “no internet connection- please try later”

That’s really wonderful customer service!! If Smart warned us plans will expire in an hour or maybe 3 hours we could renew in Smart or perhaps set to auto renew? There’s a section in Smart menu for promo alerts and messages - but it’s always been a big blank.

Thanks to the lack of built-in customer service features my PLDT plan recently expired and I lost my 90GB data balance - also my this app plan has expired a number of times with a loss of needed data balances (for a road trip) even when I renew the moment the SMS arrives.

Make Smart a far better one and I’ll change the single star rating. Keep it as it is then…

An app that doesn’t offer support

Whoever thought Smart is customer focused forgot to include the ability of end user to obtain support directly from Smart . Terrible design flaw.

An FAQ section that contains not a thing that matters to an end user doesn’t equal support.
Not even a “contact us” is provided. It is as if this provider doesn’t want its customer to complain or make requests.

If I could give a negative rating I would

Since day ONE of having my SIM Smart is unusable. Registered and then trying to log on it saying you are not registered. Then you try to register and it says you are already registered and to log on. Try to reset and OTP never accepted. Putting the OTP as fast as humanly possible. Never ending loop. Worst company ever. Once my data runs out I’m switching

Can not load payment

I was able to get my American phone to work with a eSIM and one of smarts 99 peso promos. Once the promo ended I could not load more money with Smart to continue. Even though I was using the same credit card. Customer service is a automated chat box or a phone number so I couldn’t get help. Unless you are a local I would not waist your time with Smart. Maybe try their online site or a competitor.

Greatly disappointed

App fails to make anything easier. Terms and conditions are not legible. Makes everything more frustrating. Loads way slower than the old this app app. Promos are very restricted. They won’t even let you register via text messages. *121 and *143# are utterly useless along with Smart which currently won’t load. Even loading bundles via Gcash is rejected. Trashy flashy app that just wants to steal info and give horrible offers. Keep it simple.

Payment process errors

I loaded once and it worked however after needing to reload, it would not allow me to use any type of payment method again, and errors have prevented me to use internet for convenience. It tells me to retry constantly without any fix. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times but no methods work. I see that this type of problem has already come up several months ago but it still hasn’t been fixed? Truly disappointing.

Load Balance Does Not Appear in the App

I am frustrated that Smart does not reflect my remaining balance in Smart . I have loaded several times this year because I really thought my account ran out of load until I realized that it was not the case. I tried to refresh and refresh Smart but it always showed “0” load. I hope you fix this soon otherwise it will be just another crap app. Anyway, you should also add at least a contact for tech support within Smart so that when something goes wrong like this complain I have so that we could at least feel that you care about your subscribers welfare.

A BIG FAIL FOR A TELECOM COMPANY

I would expect this level of a bad app from a grocery store BUT, from a telecom company, it is simply embarrassing and shameful. Those responsible for developing and launching Smart should immediately be asked by company management to explain. Not only is the design so basic (no serious thoughts going into it) but the customer experience is just terrible. If there was a zero star, I would give it to Smart.

Payment Processing Errors

Normally Smart functions great, however, recently, no matter what payment method I try (different credit cards, debit cards, pay maya) I get a payment processing error when I try to reload my prepaid WiFi and Cell Phone. Because of this, I cannot use my phone or internet at home. I have already tried all the basic troubleshooting steps of installing and uninstalling, keeping Smart up to date, etc. Please fix!

The app doesn’t remember my phone number

Even though I haven’t changed anything, I have to tell Smart my phone number that I have been using without any change of app, device, etc. that’s not this app at all. Update: It appears that every time Smart updates, it loses memory of my previous login and I have to enter all the digits of my phone number again to login.

Font Size

Could you make the font size smaller? If you could that would confirm to me that Smart is useless! I’m not interested in all your marketing information, just what my phone is doing and if I need to reload! Put all your marketing info on a separate app, then see how many users are interested. Make this a tech app, add a link to pasaload right from Smart . Seriously, the font is too small, dump the marketing junk to make room for a larger font for us vision challenged.

Pasadata not worked

Pasadata has an message indicating a problem occurred. It fails always on the first attempt, occasionally works on the second, and caused double data being sent . Please fix this. This started after the latest app refresh. This is not the place to report bugs but the opportunity I could find to report issues.

Buying Load

It only works once for me. Don’t know what is happening but I tried to buy load but I received error messages multiple times. I tried the website instead of an app and it works. However, Smart still won’t allow me to buy load. Overall, so far so good.

VERY SMALL FONTS

An app is supposed to give you convenience and should be easy to use. It is now May 4.
9 months since another user has complained of readability. I too can’t read the fine print Smart uses. Otherwise Smart is working as it should. Developers, please listen and do something with the users feedback

Not 'Smart' at all (My fault!)

...a more appropriate name for Smart would be 'Dumb & Annoying'. Too many persistent, repetitive annoying app advertisements and meaningless notifications, which apparently cannot be turned off. Easier to delete Smart and the sr service.

Thank you for your Response and please accept my apologies for my too hasty complaint. I know developers generally work hard to put out a quality product they can be proud of. My frustration belongs with the this app service itself, and not Smart . Since I am not too familiar with Smart , I can only raise the Star rating from 1 to 3, and 'tone down' the Title. Again, my apologies.

Great app

Smart works great. I only have one problem with it. The text is very small with terrible contrast with the background making it difficult to read. Fix that and 5 stars.

Convenient

Smart is great overall but my suggestion would be adding ‘Netflix’ into the GigaVideo option. That’s what i always register to and it would save me a lot of shareable data if you guys would consider :)

Life Line

Why is the life line option out of commission and why is it taking weeks to remedy. I have children I regularly load and now it is less convenient without the life line

Unfulfilled

I can’t even sign up with/log into Smart since I keep getting the prompt to enter my 11 digit mobile no. then retry, though my mobile no. was already recognized.
