WQAD News 8 Quad Cities Reviews

This isn’t a review of News Channel 8. This is a review of the news channel 8 app. I have had WQADNews8QuadCities since it’s debut on WQADNews8QuadCities Store. App usability is difficult due to the overwhelming amount of ads you have to watch before EVERY single click. You also cannot leave the screen to respond to a text message without returning to yet another ad video. The sheer volume of advertisements you need to swim through as a user comes across as abrasive and tacky. Also, generally it is the same ad. Over and over again at a 30 second clip. Tacky is a really good word for it.

Would of given it no Stars if allowed. The old app was bad but was easy to navigate to find different articles. This new app is just horrible. Same news story’s day after day. Need a degree to find other news going on. The weather portion is no better I don’t rely on it I use other weather apps that are much better. I wouldn’t waste your time with WQADNews8QuadCities it’s just as bad as there broadcasting.

Thank you for making me switch to a different station. New app layout is terrible. Then your dang ads! Enough already. They keep popping up and changing the page. This new version deserves a zero star. Wasting our time.

Switched to channel 6 app after the “new” channel 8 app came out. Old version of news 8 app made it much easier to read news stories. Have watched channel eight my entire life but now can’t use there new app. Downloaded channel 6 app, and layout is similar to Channel 8’s old app. Very disappointed wqad

Ads are distracting. Miss the old app. Alerts don’t tell you what is being detected anymore. You have to look at the phone to see. Seriously.... you call this an improvement? Off to find something better and that shouldn’t take long...

I would of rated you higher but you choose to air the pillow guy commercial on 8, so I have gone to 6.

Whenever a news Related or weather alert comes on WQADNews8QuadCities I end up with a game that I can’t end before the channel 8 actually comes through. Very annoying. I now count on another weather app due to this annoying factor. The old WQAD app did not have that

All you need locally-only wish they would update abit and drop older stories

Missing watching morning and evening news.
Can’t watch Little League World Series today!

Anyone should download WQADNews8QuadCities

The pandemic delayed our move to Moline 1.5 years. My wife who is an office manager for a big dental college in Dallas is now ready to retire. She has been there since 1972. I’m a freelance photographer and non-profit fundraiser.

Hope to put our Dallas home up for sale in a month. Once sold go north young man go north😊

We love the station and all of the people who make things happen there...

Many of us in the Macomb area miss CH 8 since it was dropped from our Xfinity cable system.

I wish we could get channel 8 on cable again . I do miss the news and weather !

I really enjoy channel 8 news and weather. When something is serious, they are serious. When it can be light they are. They look like they really enjoy their jobs and work together very good. I enjoy watching.
