No matter how many times I reset my password I have trouble signing in.

I tried doing a 7-day trial. The service didn’t seem worth it. When I tried to cancel it after 30 minutes, it charged me $24 anyway! They claim I didn’t read the fine print. Avoid! Blinkist is only $8/mo and has more content IMO.

Company charged me a yearly subscription when my intention was to only try Short out. Without any email reminders or notification my card was charged the yearly cost of $197 ( the yearly tab was automatically selected ) and when I reached out to them, customer service would not meet me in the middle in anyway. Worst customers service only after their own interests. Now I’m stuck with an app I don’t want nor need, since they don’t even have the books I’m interested in. I should have read other reviews, this is a Money stealing company.

I started a free trial for a monthly subscription and I was charged for anual subscription. I tried contacting customer support immediately after being charged to see if I they could fix their error and switch me to the monthly subscription. Guess what? They didn’t reply to my four respectful emails… I literally can’t afford this, my mom has cancer, and I am the only family she has, so I been working my booty off at work and doing college at the same time. I have her bills to pay and tuition . I don’t recommend this business to anyone , maybe I will have a better review if they contact me back…

This is maybe the most pointless, or most blatantly money-grabbing app I’ve maybe ever seen in this space. They’re just stealing sales from real authors and publishers by offering book reports on their books. How is this even legal? If I were one of the publishers, I would have a real lawsuit claim that these guys are trying to steal my sales. The whole premise of Short is to read their book reports versus buying the book. And the book reports are so dry they’re barely readable. Sorry, but you shouldn’t waste your time with this free app, let alone actually pay money for a subscription. Give your money to the real authors that actually came up with an original idea in the first place.

I was going to subscribe to this but I can’t even login to my account because there’s no face book option like the desktop version.

Title says it all. Try to “login” - Email or password invalid. Forgot password - no link received since I don’t have an account. Maybe consider trying out your app before publishing it.

So misleading, it shows about $9.50 per month and then they bill you $114.- not worth it for any amount. Companies like this should be ashamed of themselves! Useless.

Do not get Short, they will charge you and charge you and not refund u ur money, wouldn’t recommend Short to any one in the universe . Would give a negative 5 star if I could, very disappointed

Only lets you sign in through email not google despite it being one of the main ways to sign up and login on the website.

Signs you up for free trial and even if you cancel on the last day, they will charge you using time stamps that you didn’t end by a certain time they decide and did not communicate with you via email. no email trial to help steal your money. Go with blinkist, not this deceptive company

I’ve never registered but Short only shows me the login screen with no way to actually register. I tried using “forgot my password” as a last ditch effort but since I never registered, of course, they couldn’t send me a reset password link.

My low rating is pending an actual review once I’m let into Short .

They make you create an account and then go through this long setup thing BEFORE they give you a price and tell you that they need your credit card immediately.

I don't expect the product to be free, but you have to be up front about it. Wasting peoples' time is the opposite of the company's stated goal. They shouldn't be wasting my time as the FIRST STEP in my interaction with them.

I down loaded Short , opened it and there is no sign up page it goes straight to login and password. I don’t have a login so what’s the trick here?

Short needs a major overhaul. It’s hurting their business. It’s buggy, crashes, and features just stop working. Ex: I clicked the “skip ahead” button while listening to audio and the screen turned from light mode to dark mode while the audio was unchanged. Sometimes the audio stops after you lock your screen, sometimes it doesn’t.

As far as the design, the default screen has a search box but it only searches content you’ve already put in your library. It should search for new books/articles by default. That’s what people are most likely to look for. The audio playback is a mess. I can’t scrub the timeline. The skip back/ahead buttons don’t tell me by how much or let me adjust the time interval. I can’t view a list of chapters and move between them from the audio controls. I have to back out of them. Clicking the next chapter/previous chapter buttons yield unpredictable results.

Short needs a lot of work.

I downloaded Short and on the landing page, it tells you to login. It's my first time using Short , so my email and password are invalid. No option to register or sign in with Google or Facebook. Closed Short and tried again and the issue persists.

Shortform is a wonderful service, probably one of the best on the market today in terms of quality of the content they publish. However, their app is pretty much terrible, bringing the whole experience down. Really little customization, and clunky UI that does a poor job on my iPad mini. Android app is a bit better, but not that much. Since I mainly use my iPad for reading, I might drop my subscription if there are no usability improvements (let's be honest, the subscription is not cheap and I certainly expect more than what is offered).

The quality of their reviews really are much better than anywhere else out there. That being said, Short still needs some work around fine tuning functionality.
