First, you have to pay $9.99 to even get the program to work. Then it is basically false advertisement because it will not play anything in my ITunes library, in order for me to be able to sing it, I would have to purchase it again. Also, when you pay the $9.99, it says that you will have no ads, but after I paid, ads were popping up and I was expected to pay $2.99 more to avoid ads! SingingLessons is a total waste of my time and especially my money! I am so upset that I wasted $10 on something that I didn’t even use for 10 minutes! If I don’t get a refund, I will report SingingLessons for all the false advertising.

False Advertisement

I was so excited to get SingingLessons, especially after the thousands of great reviews but I feel like I've been duped. The warm-up exercises were good and after playing around with them I checked out the song list. There were 3 free ones (like "Amazing Grace") and the rest were marked "member" to the right of them. Well of course I want to sing songs that are fun so I become a member by paying $9.99 for SingingLessons . Mistake. The songs marked "member" should be marked "itunes" and the consumer should be told they will cost extra and not a benefit of becoming a member!! Maybe the training program is good but I'm afraid I'll get duped into buying something from that, too

Too many ads

2022-07-30

I’m not sure how SingingLessons is getting so many high ratings. There are way too many ads, after about every 30 seconds practice you have to watch another ad. And SingingLessons is not game at five at all. It doesn’t really track your progress, it gives you a score after each practice session, but there’s no overall tracking or goalsetting or performance improvement. Also,The words at the bottom of the screen, are way too small. And, the Mic seems to pick up a lot of ambient noise, so you can’t even perform a range test, as it picks up a lot of noise and give you this incredibly wide dynamic range that you don’t have.

App of idiocy

2022-08-31

It took my ten dollars for a one year subscription. I thought it would unlock all of the songs, but then it still made me pay for every individual stinking song. It doesn’t deserve any good or remotely good reviews. SingingLessons is getting deleted and I’m canceling the subscription.

It seems like other people have gone through the same situation. So this is a warning so nobody else gets completely ripped off.

This is a free app at SingingLessons Store but you end paying a lot over ten dollars in the end.

This might give the makers of this game some idea of how idiotic there scam is, and that they should change it. I hope people read this to know how awful it is!!

If you want to pay over ten dollars for a singing app then this would be fine for you. If your like me and you don’t want to pay ten dollars for a one year subscription and pay for every individual song (each song costs from $1 to $2.50ish) then please trust me don’t get SingingLessons . If you want multiple songs it will become spendy.

Deceptive & Utterly Disappointing

2022-10-02

Sure, the exercise tracking bars work and maybe you need that, but they get boring. Decided to go ahead and buy it so I could have real songs instead of the pathetic free offerings.

BIG mistake. I hope you're reading these reviews first before buying it, unlike me, so you don't get ripped off. All the cool songs say Member next to them, implying you pay your $10 and get access. NOT THE CASE! You have spend another $1 per song to buy them from iTunes. That in itself is a rip off to start with. And it's not even the real version, it's a karaoke version – even more of a rip off. And then they don't give you the lyrics or the tracking bars. What's the point?

I'm counting this as a lesson learned and will be deleting SingingLessons, canceling the subscription, and trying to forget I ever fell for this crap.

Rip off!!! I Want a refund!

2022-11-02

I truly am upset right now! I just paid for a membership and I can’t even sing anything without having ANY songs on iTunes in which I also have to pay for. I can only sing the songs that come with SingingLessons , when it’s free!!! I get it said SOME of the songs I didn’t know it would be All of the songs. It should really specify. I am on a limited budget right now I thought maybe this would be something cheap and fun to do. I can’t even use anything I paid for without having to pay iTunes $.99 cents for each song as well. Which may not seem like a lot but it adds up quickly! What turned into 10$ for a year$ now is 10$ +.$.99. For each song. I want a refund!

Fun until you find out the gotchas

2022-12-04

I enjoyed the free trial but the ads and locked content were overwhelming - I decided to buy a membership. Well the ads are gone - hurray! - but while there are also some more warmups and such all the songs that i thought would be unlocked are now labeled ‘buy’. Not good. And as I read on other reviews but didn’t think would apply to ‘members’ there is even more content they hide until you write lukewarm reviews like this one. I don’t mind paying for the work - but there are too many policies that are unclear (or which are buried too deep in the writeups). The experience could be a lot friendlier.

Seems to be the only option...

2023-01-04

I just downloaded SingingLessons and I'm checking out the things it can do. The first sections seems to be ok, until i got to the sing songs part... most of the songs are for members only and available in itunes. There are no more than 10 songs available without doing anything more than just installing SingingLessons from the list of songs you see when you chose the sing songs option (or something like that), then there's the "more songs" option at the bottom of the list. So, i clicked it and a message asking if i like SingingLessons popped up with options "yes, no, decide later"(or something like such)... so i chose decide later since i truly haven't decided yet. Picking this option led me back to the song list that shows the "more songs" option. So, i tried to pick a different, positive option. So... doing so lead me here... so, i really don't have enough knowledge on SingingLessons to give a full review since I seem to have to do this in order to go further in using the "more songs" option... so, i will get back to this later after i see where this takes me... lol... hmmnnn... (seriously?!? I feel like I actually gave a bit much thought on this than it deserves... but... hmmnn... maybe it helps somehow in improving SingingLessons in someway...)

Too soon

2023-02-05

Update: so I am lowering my rating...the training program is pretty well thought through but the sing along songs are sooo limited. Just Christmas tunes, surely you can get some public domain tunes?!? Then, even if I wanted to go to iTunes to purchase a karaoke version at an overpriced rate, when I tried to do that, I couldn't because the interface was buggy. Why don't they know these things? Why don't they fix these things? Why do they take my money and run?!
Old review: I am being forced to write a review in order to find out if there are any other songs. I like SingingLessons , but I just started. It seems powerful but...give me some time.

Works well, but VERY limited

2023-03-09

Everyone obviously has a different range, and SingingLessons doesn’t do enough to accommodate that basic fact.

You can adjust the range, but only between three settings, which is problematic. Each of the three range settings is almost two octaves apart so there’s a good chance a particular sone won’t work for you. The first song my kid tried was Joy to the World, and it was either too high or too low and he has a decent vocal range. The setting could be very very bass—like the guy singing the grinch song—or a reasonable alto, or very very soprano—like an English choirboy. But at his age, he can’t get up to super-soprano and can’t get a lot of the lower alto.

This is especially a problem if the song itself has a wide pitch range where almost any singer would need a very fine tuned pitch. Most songs you’d want to learn have a wider range than Mary Had. little Lamb.

And this is even a worse problem for the beginners SingingLessons is designed for.

Some songs the pitch is fine, but if it’s not, you have a very small chance that one of the other range settings will work.

And this is an entirely avoidable problem. They use midi-files which are designed to allow any pitch setting anyone would ever want. ONE MINOR ADJUSTMENT TO THE PROGRAM AND THIS WOULD WORK GREAT! Let the user adjust the tonic to whatever they want. A beginner programmer could do this in 15 minutes.

Forced review

2023-04-07

SingingLessons seems to crash at least once per use. Usually something accessing my mic.
Other than that seems great, just can’t seem to get to all the features to decide whether I want to spend money, because of the forced review. Hopefully now that I’ve done the forced review. I will be able to investigate the rest of the features and decide whether I’d like a subscription or whatever gets the features I’d like to use.
Wish the developers a happy holiday and hope this is constructive.
Not bad definitely needs AirPod inclusion.

Catch 22

2023-05-09

Hello, I had a free account, then today I upgraded to premium because there were a lot of songs that I wanted to sing that was only available. The price upgrade to premium was 999. After I paid I selected a song wanted to saying then a message came up for me to go to the iTunes Store to purchase this song for 99 cents. So basically when you upgrade to premium, you don’t get any additional free songs. Your paying for premium to purchase the additional songs for $.99 each. So when actuality he spent $10 to be able to spend more money.

Good App with issues

2023-06-09

The is great. I don't mind the whole purchasing from music from iTunes because ultimately you own the music. I have an issue with accessing my downloaded music through SingingLessons . It arbitrarily selects which songs I can sing to. I don't have options to choose the songs I want from my library which is frustrating considering only one song is a track that I use. I love the recording feature which allows me to send my vocals with the track in the background to my vocal coach for review. I'd like to do that with all my tracks.

I wish...

2023-07-11

SingingLessons is amazing! Yet it's not perfect. It has this ability to allow you to play your songs you downloaded from the iTunes Store, but it doesn't have the bars that tell what note is being played or sung. I hope/wish that they figure out a way to fix it, or even give us an option if we want to have that or not. They could use the same tech they use to record our voice and tell us what note we hit for the song.

Love Hate App

2023-08-11

I rate it 4 stars because SingingLessons is truly a GREAT training tool but too many purchases need to be made in order to fully enjoy. Individual songs along with a $10 membership?!? May as well buy the songs themselves and just sing with them. Good for the teachings and tracking bad for the purchases.

Intermediate Exercise Error

2023-09-12

The exercise that is called VIBRANT has an error at the end. Almost a minute of silence with no way to grade you. I enjoy SingingLessons very much and I use it everyday. I started like two months ago with terrible grades. Didn't let that frustrate me and I kept doing the exercises daily. I am improving and SingingLessons keeps track of that. Great. The downfall is that you have to purchase everything but if you look it the other way, you can buy the extra exercises when your improvement tells you to add a notch.

Integrative way to learn how to sing!

2023-10-14

I really enjoy SingingLessons, above most vocal and karaoke apps. I like the way it has exercises to warm up your voice as well as karaoke to record your own cover songs to popular artists. The recording quality is clear and the pitch monitor is a cool fun way to make sure your singing to the song correctly. I really like the vocal range feature. It helps to know what kind of voice you really have and shows you which songs are within your ability. This also helps to expand your range and reach those high and low notes you've been struggling with on any music you've been singing along to. All in all I would say this is a very nice app that I would recommend to anyone trying to improve their singing.

AMAZING!!!

2023-11-14

Amazing! I'm so thrilled there is an app that doesn't cost money that is really bringing the earth together and helping people to sing better. I do recommend the purchase, to take benefit of all the full features. But the free version is just as amazing. I also recommend Smule!! An app once you get your voice work warmed up you can sing on with famous people and it's really really fun, you can also connect with people all around the world!!!

It’s a great help to me

2023-12-16

I haven’t practiced singing in several years and and I started singing again and after my Covid shots my voice and my sinus areas and my throat changed tremendously I hate eight months of fighting congestion and irritation and inflammation I will try the SingSharp every once in a while now I feel that I’m getting better after my third booster I started getting the inflammation again and I decided this time I was going to hit head on and use the SingSharp and practice practice practice until I get back into vocal form what a great at home way in this time. To practice what an eloquent way for me to get my voice back thank you

BEST vocal training app EVER!!!! Training Program HIGHLY recommended!

2024-01-16

Membership way worth the price! I'd recommend to everyone who wants to improve singing techniques. I pay $120/hour to take professional vocal lessons twice a week. Ever since I started practicing with SingingLessons in-between lessons, my teacher has commented on how much my vocal skills have significantly improved.

Before I use SingingLessons, I was not able to practice without my singing teacher. With SingingLessons, I can practice on my own anytime anywhere. Amazing!
