Bad experience. First and LAST ride.

2022-05-21

I was happy to find a Link scooter on my daily route. Downloaded SuperpedestrianLINKScooters , attached my debit card, went through the process to get things rolling. After about traveling about 30 yards, the scooter shuts off and tells me I’m out of its operational zone. I tried driving it the opposite direction- well out of my way, to see if it would operate that way. Short time later I get the same message. Apparently these things only operate within a couple block radius. I was simply trying to ride it to the closest Metro (Subway) station. I would have gladly paid more to ride if it let me. Tried to file a complaint and was told my scooter doesn’t exist. Ended up wasting about 15 min of my life I’ll never get back.

Fundamentally flawed

2022-06-22

I tried to park the scooter in a legal zone where I’ve parked Veo scooters many times. SuperpedestrianLINKScooters incorrectly said I can’t park there; fine I’ll move it. However I had already locked the scooter to a bike rack and there was no way to unlock it from SuperpedestrianLINKScooters or via a button!! So then I had to call customer support, which was helpful, but I wasted 15 minutes on this kafka-esque nonsense!
If they cannot even program the parking zones correctly or have the foresight to put an unlock button like every other scooter, it makes you wonder what other corners they are cutting. Cannot recommend and will avoid from now on whenever there are other options.

Scooter shuts down without warning.

2022-07-23

I was kind of excited these scooters had appeared in my town. Rented one and took off. Got about a block and it shut down. I was going down hill so I just coasted for quite a ways. Thought it was a glitch so went to end the ride and was going to start a new ride. Nope! Can’t end the ride! It tells me I’m outside of the travel zone. Really?!?

Worse, it continues charging me and insisting that I need to push the scooter way back up the hill. I don’t work for Link and I’m not pushing their scooter anywhere.

Later found out they’ve arbitrarily set their zone to cover certain residential neighborhoods but not others. That would’ve been a pretty important fact to emphasize PRIOR to rental. I picked it up in one residential neighborhood and was simply riding over to another. Since I couldn’t end the ride I’ve been ripped off on the amount charged. Well, they got my money but never again. Deleted SuperpedestrianLINKScooters . Done.

The Purple Zone 😐

2022-08-24

I just started a new job in the skid row area. So this morning for the first time I decided to upload the link app and ride a link scooter to work. I enjoyed the ride very much. I am impressed how well the Link scooter handles. It’s very sturdy, quick on take off and gives a very smooth ride. But sadly that’s where my good review
ends.
Like I said I wanted to ride the scooter to work but when I did I could not END the ride. Because I was in The Purple Zone. So I had to ride a half a mile away from my job in order to park it and END my ride. Then I walked a mile back, late for work. A waste of time.
I’m from New York City. So I have seen my share of bad neighborhoods. I know people are scared to enter skid row to pick up the scooters. And it has something to do with discrimination against poor neighborhoods. A lot of zoning laws are going on here. I’m sorry to say I will not be riding Link scooters no more.

Worst scooter service

2022-09-25

My friend and I tried to rent these link scooters in Seattle. It kept saying there was an error and would direct me back to the Home Screen where it said “scan to ride”. My friends had her take a safety quiz and opened up a screen verifying different things before the ride. Her app would get stuck on the last one. Since we experienced trouble with the apps and it never confirmed a ride we ended up ditching the scooters since it didn’t show we were actively riding. 45 minutes later I get a charge on my account. When I call customer service the lady asks me why I didn’t end the ride. I told her my app didn’t give me the option as it was on the screen to start a ride. She said I should have called right then and there. Why would I need to call if it never gave me confirmation that a ride had begun??? I’m still waiting for a refund. Stick with Lime in my opinion.

Took my money and did no service

2022-10-26

I wanted to use these as a fast way to go home since I saw some when I was on my way to go somewhere and I downloaded SuperpedestrianLINKScooters and it charged me $10 but after I knew what it was for it I was okay with it. The scooter was dead and I wasn’t charged which I was really glad I wasn’t so I went to another scooter which I saw and decided to do use that one with bigger hopes that it would work. I got it to turn on but it didn’t accelerate and I had to push it. It charged me another $10 and then charged me $1.64 for the 2 feet that I moved.
Really not happy with this and as a high school student I wasn’t really happy with how it just kept on taking my money!
I was really excited to go on one of these but it just became a really disappointing moment.
Please give me a refund and give me back my money.

Awful service that doesn’t care about others’ personal property

2022-11-27

Link is a terrible company & service. Watch out and be prepared. 2 riders were racing smashed into my car and sped off. A police report was filed, all the necessary actions taken, but Link has repeatedly declined to respond to emails/claims/calls. Every claim filed with them has been dropped. Every phone call where I manage to get through to somebody, I am lied to and told that somebody will get back to me. This happened a month ago, and still not a peep from Link. Who's going to pay for the damages to my car? This is a service that allows virtually anybody with a phone to operate a scooter and disregard the laws of traffic with no repercussions. They can hop on, screw up somebody else's personal property, and hop off. Without any intervention from Link. Thanks for a miserable experience.

Doesn’t Work and Expensive

2022-12-28

Go find a Lime scooter. The link app doesn’t work. In a busy area, SuperpedestrianLINKScooters will crash on you 9 times before it works once. It crashed when I was riding so I wasn’t able to take a photo at the end so I got charged even more. Company is too cheap to pay for enough cloud computing or there is a massive bug they dont know how to fix.

Also, link scooters have a very slow governor automatically set for your first ride. If you want to go uphill on the first ride, good luck. The electric motor is not powerful enough so you’ll end up having to push yourself up the hill. Overall, it was a headache, not worth it and I ended up being late to my appointment.
Lime scooters and SuperpedestrianLINKScooters are 10 times better.

App not working

2023-01-29

I ride these scooter to and from the metro daily. Usually no problems but today I tried three scooters that had a green light and kept getting error messages. Then once I finally got one I got to my destination and SuperpedestrianLINKScooters crashed and logged me out and I couldn’t end my ride and missed my next ride on the train! I had to restart SuperpedestrianLINKScooters and it wouldn’t work. I’ve also had another time where it worked and timed out and still charged me over $1.
SuperpedestrianLINKScooters is so glitchy and not smooth almost makes me not want to use SuperpedestrianLINKScooters but it’s the only scooters that work around my job!
I need help please

If Comcast owned Scooters

2023-03-02

I downloaded this since links were dropped in my neighborhood and figured I’d try. Downloaded SuperpedestrianLINKScooters the be met with a $10 down payment and returnable charge with my first ride (terrible already). Take my first ride home a few blocks on a awfully slow scooter. Get off, no option to end ride. At this point my ride was 5min or less. Didn’t get the option to end my ride until 15 min later at which I was asked to show a pic of the scooter. Showed a pic of the inside of my apartment instead since I had left the scooter long ago. Got charged for a 15 minute ride. Terrible UX. Who wrote these requirements?

Inexplicably Restrictive

2023-03-31

In my city, Austin, there are three scooter companies - bird, lime, and now link. Comparing their coverage maps link is by far the most restrictive, massive swaths of areas around the city are entirely off limits for parking and driving. Somehow both the other apps are able to avoid such restrictions. Link is almost impossible to ride through downtown because for a solid ten blocks the only viable street to travel east/west is 6th, which is a one way street.

I don’t know how the other scooter companies have figured this out, but link is unusable with these areas where it will shut you’re scooter off, and not allow you to park.

Decent experience however lacking in safety

2023-05-02

My overall experience with my first ride I’d say was a 7/10. First off you get zero instructions on how to start riding the device or operate it safely near pedestrians and vehicles. The idea that people who may have never even rode a bike are zooming on side walks is pretty terrifying. The safety geo fencing is a nice feature however it’s far from perfect. You get a nice beep when you enter a speed controlled area or when your out of bounds but guess what!? you are paying the whole time for the ride you are out of bounds and you have to push it manually !! The “bell” is also a joke. I’ve got a louder bell on a mountain bike and trying to hear the included bell in any urban area is unrealistic.
The device itself was great (First weekend the service was available, Hartford CT) great acceleration , top speed, handling and breaking. The lack of training for safely operating the scooter is unfortunate , even a 2 minute video before it lets you ride would be great and I’m amazed the service is able to legally operate without it. Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Sad that this app is such a dumpster fire

2023-06-02

I live in Seattle and the Link scooters are the better of the two available. However, SuperpedestrianLINKScooters is an absolute wreck and simply does not work. The first few days I was using it, all was well. I don’t know if an update hastened or what, but SuperpedestrianLINKScooters has absolutely stopped working. SuperpedestrianLINKScooters hangs on the loading screen far too often, it cannot complete whatever the “firmware check” stage is and scooters simply won’t unlock for me because it hangs in the firmware check stage. At the same time, the in-app scooter locating map only works about half the time (often the map is just empty or blank) and about half the time it also hangs while trying to process my payments through Apple Pay or it simply drops the transaction and I have to restart. All in all I’m able to use SuperpedestrianLINKScooters successfully about 1 out of every 20 tries. If you can avoid it, don’t use this service. I rely on the scooters to get around day to day and I simply have had to give up with LINK. It’s not with the headache.

Update - wow for like a hot minute SuperpedestrianLINKScooters got better but now it’s literally entirely unusable on an iPhone 12 Mini. Lame.

Sadly the best of three in my city

2023-07-04

App and scooters glitch out very often. Either SuperpedestrianLINKScooters won’t let you finish a ride, and your stuck taking photos, waiting take another, wait etc or it says you don’t have funds in the wallet or card on file even if an hour before your Apple Pay was linked up and worked fine and a couple hours later magically works again. When it says you have no card linked or funds in wallet it’s the same as the photo/finish ride you are stuck in an endless loop and restarting SuperpedestrianLINKScooters does nothing. I have even tried restarting my phone. The scooters will randomly decide to lock also sometimes after you unlock and have ridden a block or two. Flashing lights horn honking brakes kick in. Real safe when you are in a busy intersection and the light is about to change.

Great scoots! Developing app.

2023-08-04

SuperpedestrianLINKScooters is as simple to understand as the competition, but doesn’t offer a scoot reservation option. Like, if I have to walk 3 blocks to get to a scooter, or will need the scooter in 10 minutes after getting ready for work. I’d like to make sure it’ll still be there when I get there.
The scooter is the best in Seattle! What it lacks in visual displays, it makes up for with big wheels, and the power to creep up Capitol Hill from Downtown. When all others stall, and need a kick/push up a couple 10-15 degree hills while my 285 rides.
SuperpedestrianLINKScooters could also use scoot data integration for after a ride starts. Then add a phone quick mount to the handle to display your mph, battery level, estimated miles remaining, and if the brakes are regenerating.

Had my first ride on a Link scooter tonight. I’ve used Birds, Limes and now most commonly Spin.
I like the inflatable wheels on the Link as well as the shock absorber on the front wheels. Missing the speedometer but I don’t really know why I need one. The scooter is bulkier/heavier than other models but felt like a very solid ride. It’s early in their exposure to Baltimore but the battery did a great job climbing hills with basically no loss of speed. 5 out of 5 would ride again

Me and my wife first time scooter ride

2023-10-07

Whoa this was awesome my first time ever getting on one of these things my wife has never ridden a scooter and it was so easy to ride and has a great speed great brakes I felt like a kid again me and my wife had a ball we came from another town and Cindi staying the night and guess what I will be back to the town justTo ride one of the scooters again and my wife had a great time and playing on the scooters gave me and my wife a van that we will remember in a memory that we won’t forget thanks link scooters good job

Off limits areas extend past geographic limits

2023-11-07

Riding near a university is near impossible (and dangerous) because the GPS thinks you’re on out of bounds, when in reality you’re riding in a public sidewalk on the other side of the road, and simply stops. This happens has happened to me countless times, even in the middle of intersections on public roads when I’m nearing a school or community building. I understand the city imposes the boundaries, but the software needs to be able to recognize and predict when a rider is actually on approved routes, even if they are close to the out of bounds.

Review

2023-12-09

I’d like the scooters and they handle well but you have to work on uphill speed. This is Los Angeles and there are hills everywhere and your units even when fully charged only go about 4 miles an hour uphill while all the other scooters especially lift go uphill just fine. I’m just saying they’d be a lot better and I would use them more if they didn’t have that hill problem.

Pretty enjoyable

2024-01-09

Yeah y’all got something good going on keep these around or give them a lil new look either or they’re cool y’all should definitely try them out sometime if you think about using one do it you’ll enjoy the ride also good for transportation round downtown an if you work in downtown it’s usually 10 dollars or less to get where you need to be anywhere in downtown I got no issue paying 10 bucks for a lil fun ride to get more money in my pocket

Probably the most honest review your gone see or get theirs no complaints over here wit this an I’d hope to not run into no more down the way

Thank y’all for your ride services to much appreciated

Got charged $86.20 for three rides, about 10 minutes each way. Seems outrageous.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I have experienced so many issues and the support available is shocking and my complaints have been completely dismissed. Nottingham has recently migrated to LINK as a provider and in two weeks I am already cancelling my monthly subscription and returning the scoter and I will never use the service again. The advisors are rude, tickets get ignored (I have six open at the moment over the last week), 30% of the battery is not accessible and for a subscription user that is complete nonsense, the app works in kilometres so there is no way of calculating % battery remaining, the QR code needs to be carried separately in my wallet and already the print is rubbing off so will soon be useless, the app is continuously requesting a payment approval. I also recently got stranded as scooter wouldn't unlock and had to walk home over six miles and the advisor said it was my problem and offered no resolution. I'm done with LINK (after only a couple of weeks) and won't be wasting any more time. Please be warned and approach with caution!!!

Link scooters offer terrible customer service, someone else is using my account spending all my money(not me) and they are just like sorry can’t help you with this… so that means they are aware of my situation and they are aware they are getting money from me twice a day (again this is not me) and won’t do anything about so now I have had to cancel my whole card and get a new one and I’m not in my home country. So link scooters is knowingly taking my money without me using there scooters.. Don’t trust this app
