Love the new app interface. The Information, and NYTimes are examples of what the media industry can do if they just understand tech well. They don’t need Apple, google or fb news and can survive well on their own. Brilliant experience and content. This will replace my TechCrunch app which has recently been full of clickbait articles.

But, why can’t I save/read later articles?

I love the new Tech Top 10 app from The Information. It’s hugely time-saving and v easy to use. Seeing top stories quickly, being able to figure out quickly if the stories are for me, having instant access to the expanding calendar, and being able to quickly scan what is new by my favorite writers. Like everything The Information takes on - this is A+.

If you find yourself refreshing Techmeme for the latest tech news, TheIn is for you. It has well written, timely content for an affordable subscription. If it had a widget that could expand to show the top 5-10 headlines, I would give it 5 stars. A good example of a well done widget is the Espresso by The Economist.

I get emails from TI, and clicking on links takes me to my Slack app, where I also receive all TI articles. But when I click on an article in Slack to see the whole thing, I’m redirected to The Information's iPhone app, which downloaded automatically to my iPad because it’s on my iPhone. Who wants to have to turn their iPad sideways and read articles on a small screen rather than in a browser?? I’ve deleted the TI app from my iPad, but it makes plain the fact that TI needs an app built specifically for the iPad.

The Information is a must if you work in tech, or want to read high quality, unbiased tech news. The latest app update is great - I read the top tech stories in the morning, and the main articles throughout the day.

I have been a subscriber to The Information for several years. Hands down it is the best tech subscription news source that gives in depth articles. It is now my primary source for tech news while other mainstream publications supplement what The Information doesn’t report on.

I love TheIn, this writing is amazing. Couple things I would like to see:
1.) Dark Mode compatibility. I read articles first thing in the morning or late at night in my phone and prefer the black background
2.) A widget where I can see too headlines

How can you depend on tech information, among other things, from a source that can’t get the basics right? I mean… c’mon… it’s not 2005. Having to 2x an iPhone shaped article or… launch a browser… just gives off the vibe that you don’t have it together. There are solid info sources that get this right. Alas… The Information does not. Hard pass for now. I may revisit if this changes and I notice.

Everything is excellent. I’ll never be able to afford a subscription, but an iPad version would be great.

iPad app reminds me of when the first ipad came out and there were no native apps — that gross bloated-phone look. I really need to be able to use TheIn in landscape mode, so the fact that that isn’t possible makes TheIn totally useless, which is a shame. If your app provided a better experience, I would definitely be more engaged with your content.

In February, I tried out TheIn and ended up paying for a year of "The Top 10".

The most recent update prevents me from viewing the "Top 10" stories, and it displays an up sell for their standard subscription.

I can't recommend an app that takes a year of money and only gives 6 months of the product.

The Information is my most valuable news source, and TheIn is easy to read and delivers super high impact differentiated content. It’s on my home screen.

The Information digest is already a must-read for me, and having it in an app makes it even more convenient.

The writing is great, but TheIn really needs baseline functionality like being able to save articles to read later.

App doesn’t support dark mode for a better reading experience in low-light. It would be good for eyes and battery.

For such an expensive subscription, I’m not sure why TheIn sends articles written by their own staff to open in a browser. Is it asking too much to have articles open in TheIn ?

This is a news app. A $399/year app, at that. You NEED to have native iPad support, period. Read all the reviews that mention this and listen to your customers before they churn.

The content is good, but 1 star app until you have native iPad support (including landscape mode). Will update my review if and when that happens.

Would love to see a dark mode version! Otherwise this is a great app housing incredible content

This content is fantastic but I spend a lot of time on a plane and my iPad is my trusty travel partner. Please build an iPad app!

It’s an elegant, functional app with really solid tech news.

So happy to finally have TheIn which gives me a great rundown of the day in tech curated by the most trusted reporters. Love seeing how they translate the more technical news for the average person to understand the impact on their everyday lives.

One of the best tech media companies out in the world with world class journalists that don’t chase clicks. Highly recommend to tech professionals who want a leg up on their careers.

An iPad native app is needed asap...

The Tech Top 10 has no more info than the regular media. And, there’s no refund even if you cancel within 30 days. Better to spend the same money on subscriptions to The NY Times, The Washington Post, Wired, or Slate.

Doesn’t work on iPad. Good content though.
