This is my first time writing a review, but after my experience I feel compelled to warn other people. I ordered one item to be delivered on the day after. I got a couple of messages on the day of scheduled delivery stating "your item is on its way!". great. At the exact time of delivery, I receive a message stating that "your order has been canceled, we apologize". Not the best thing, since the communications before had implied that everything was proceeding smoothly, but ok I decide to give them another chance. I order the same item from another shop in the app. again all communications and messages tell me that everything is proceeding smoothly. i get a notification stating that delivery is near, the courier will be there in the next 5 minutes. 5 minutes later, another notification tells me that the courier missed me because they could not reach me, and ask me for options to reschedule another delivery. i had been at home the whole day. no ring bells, no knocks, no calls. nobody showed up. My building is in one mayor street in manhattan, very easy to find, and with a doorman. i have never had any problem with deliveries, not once. until today. What a scam. I would have preferred some honesty, telling me that they could not deliver. extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Beware!

Placed an order through with Mercato for a catering order a week in advance. After successfully placing a hold on the credit card (by their own account) I got random email saying the credit card was declined. Called customer service and they confirmed the order was in good standing. Received a similar email the following day and called again and they noted they would get it taken care of immediately. Sunday, Mercato cancelled the order. After a 3rd phone call, they said they would escalate it immediately. Emails back and forth started coming and it sounded as if I cancelled the order (which was not the case). They stopped responding and my order was never processed. Had to scramble last minute to get food for the work function. Worst customer service. Would not use again.

I decided to splurge on the $35 delivery since it was my anniversary, I didn’t know I was going to be treated like dirt by Mercato staff. I asked for a 5-6pm delivery window. It’s 6:39 pm and they JUST delivered. When I called to inquire about the delay, the rep snipped at me “well, we marked it as delayed. So you’re going to have to wait. We can’t control traffic!”
I know that. I also know I selected an expensive delivery window and it was missed by a mile and you’ve lost a customer for life. I called the merchant and let them know what I was told and they were horrified for me and are hoping to make it right so I still shop with their company. I told the merchant I recognize it’s Mercato at fault and will never agree to pay an arm and a leg for convenience again.
